Pleasantly surprised. Decently priced hotel off the highway. When I arrived I could see that they were undergoing a model/renovation of some kind so I wasn't expecting much. When I checked in the (very late) they had my room key ready and a warm brownie bite. It was a nice treat to be greeted with (it was tasty too!). The room is on the smaller side but had everything you need: a large, clean bed (pillows and sheets smelled fresh), large tv on the wall, refrigerator, and a decently sized bathroom. Nothing fancy but everything was clean, the room location was quiet, and the bed was comfy. I still had work to do and attempted to work on the computer in the lobby but there were some issues with the software (needs to be updated) so I couldn't print out some documents for a meeting the next morning. The very kind employee at the front desk, Claudia, went above and beyond to help me. She printed and made copies of the document for me! She was incredibly friendly and helped me trouble shoot the computer problem. Even though it was near midnight, Claudia was upbeat and positive throughout the entire ordeal. I appreciated her professionalism and going out of her way to help me out. I travel a lot and appreciate attentive and helpful staff. I've stayed at several hotels in the area but will be sure to stay here again! Oh - and although I missed it because I arrived so late - they do have a happy hour on certain days!

    Funny wiring on A/C

Arrival: Drove into Laredo. Easy access to hotel off I-35. Check-in with Mario was efficient and pleasant. Mario is a very nice front desk employee. Room: Review is of Room 345. Dated and somewhat worn overall but adequate. Room 345 was a handicapped suite consisting of a full living room and a separate bedroom. The living room included a nice desk, chair, loveseat, coffee table, Samsung TV, mini-refrigerator, small microwave, and tiny coffee maker. Bedroom included king bed, nightstands, table, Samsung TV, and a chair. All furniture was a bit worn. The A/C system consists of old-fashioned window units. The A/C in the living room had exposed wiring and was very, very loud. The bedroom A/C was also loud. Sound insulation was minimal, and I woke up to various road noises throughout the night, and that was for a room facing away from I-35. Bed: Decent bed and linens. Bathroom: large but not very accommodating bathroom. Counter space is microscopic. Water pressure in the shower is bad. Housekeeping: Decent but not detailed housekeeping. Housekeeping replaced towels and generally tidied up but forgot to restock coffee. Free breakfast: rather low quality free breakfast consisting of boiled eggs, some some green grapes, ugly looking sausage patties, eggs that appeared to be from powdered egg mix, bagels, yogurt, make your own waffles, coffee, fresh oranges, and bananas.... The selection may sound good, but it was really limited and really low quality, except for the oranges. Overall staff attitude: Nice, accommodating staff. Parking: ample free parking Misc: (1) Hotel offers a free shuttle to/from the airport and other nearby locations. If it's not busy, shuttle will also drop guests off at nearby restaurants. (2) Hotel is basically across the street from the mall and many restaurants. About our review: We're loyal Marriott Lifetime Titanium status travelers. We've been all over the planet, which gives us perspective. And we compose our reviews based on our experiences, not others' reviews.

Close to the mall and restaurants and friendly staff. Managers reception was nightly and included cold adult beverages.

The rooms are spacious…read moreand super clean, so much so that our bathroom still had a fresh smell of cleaning supplies. We're in a king corner suite and there's more than enough space for my partner and I. The shower is probably my favorite bit and I love the fluffiness of the comforter. There is complimentary breakfast which is beyond your bagel and yogurt hotel breakfast. Think omelettes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, egg, fresh fruit, and so much more. Parking is complimentary and it's walking distance to the mall. Only gripe is the elevators being a bit of a mess but I'll take it.

Stayed 4 nights here as we were attending a wedding in Laredo. It's conveniently located less than…read more10 minutes from the airport. It's also really close to the mall, to Walmart and a gas station. So it's pretty much located near everything you need. Its a massively large hotel. 6 stories high. The layout was nice. With all the hotel doors facing into a central courtyard. I love the fact that they had a really nice spread of their complimentary breakfast. They had an omelette/egg section with plenty of toppings. They can also make up French toast or pancakes on their griddle. Lots of selections of pastries, fruit, granola and cereals. I also like how big the breakfast area is too, so your never waiting for a table to open up during prime time. Check in was relatively easy. There's a whole bunch of parking even though they share a parking lot with the adjacent hotel. The rooms were large and spacious as well. There's a living room with sofas and a large table (to work) and a TV. Then the large bedroom had a king size bed and another TV! The sink for the bathroom was separated from the shower and toilet which I really don't care for. The bed was super comfortable. And they have pillows of varying height for your comfort. They also have a mini fridge and microwave in each room. There's an indoor swimming pool which is nice. As well as a smaller than expected gym, but it got the workout done. I love the water feature they have in the main lobby. It was pretty cool. Several things that I didn't like though, which cumulatively resulted in the losing a star were: 1. Only 1 elevator was working during our stay. And with 6 floors and so many guests, elevators took a while. 2. Took the shower a good 5 minutes to get up to the right temp which is super annoying and wasteful. 3. Several occasions my key card all of a sudden wouldn't let me in the room, so I had to goto the front desk to get it fixed. 3B. On that note, all you have to give the front desk is the room number and they'll get you another key. Which is cool, but they don't ask for any other forms of verification, they just give u a key to the room u ask for, which is kinda scary, especially if there's a creeper or stalker following you around. 4. Ac unit was on the fries. I had the heater turned on and it kept blowing cold air. Or I would turn the unit on and it would keep on going. Overall a great and comfortable stay (not too expensive either). If your ever in the Laredo area, definitely check this place out

Horrible customer service!!! Very unprofessional!!…read more Ok so it's been over 2 weeks since we left this place and I am still dealing with a $180 hold on my account! I have never in my life had such a horrible experience from the MOMENT I walked in the door... GRANTED the staff had issues with some of the other people on our team, they were very clear in letting us ALL know how UNWELCOME we were! Ok so WHY THE HELL would a company agree to allow PONY a contract during such a big event (World Series) and then be so freaking uptight?!? We came to Laredo, SPECIFICALLY contracted with Pony, and quality customer service is far from what we experienced! 1. If you didn't want kids in your hotel then you shouldn't have agreed to the contract with PONY Baseball and Softball to have us there. We are a WHOLE TEAM with 13 4-7 year olds, what on earth makes you think we can keep ALL of our kids completely silent, stop them all from running or stomping?!?!? 2. The SMART thing to do would have been to put us ALL in your outside hotel rooms, I guarantee you wouldn't have had the same issue..... 3. We are all human and we deserved RESPECT first and foremost DESPITE what anyone else said or did to you, you should have never taken it personal! Your customer service was ridiculous and unprofessional..not only horrible customer service, the front desk staff was actually talking shit about ME to another customer as I walked back to my room!!! We had cops called on us because we violated the EXTRA contract that was in place specifically for our group. The hotel stay, physically was ok, the hotel seems new and the location was good! Laredo PD was AMAZING!! Super sweet! They had Cheddars across the highway, AMAZING!! And lots of close places. Shout out to the security guard too!! He was human and nice! When I called to complain, corporate took the GMs side bc she grouped ALL OF US together as one, she exaggerated what our kids were doing; supposedly we let our kids jumping on lobby furniture, running up and down he halls, apparently we had 40 people at the pool that weren't supposed to be there etc etc etc And we were disturbing their clientele...umm.. we were the clientele!!! Y'all made close to $10k off of us and still made us all feel very uncomfortable! They Never once tried to make us feel welcomed!! When I checked out early they tried to tell me I wasn't getting ANY money back because they don't do that... corporate told me otherwise, and then the staff told me 3 different stories. THIS WAS ONLY what I could remember.... we were there for 5 days and each day it was something different!!! Basically, don't go to this crappy hotel! The pictures are great the facility was nice, the GM and her front staff all except ONE were all horrible!!! And this was my own PERSONAL experience! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, EVER!!!!!

First of all, the hours of the Tack Room... which if a fantastic experience, have been cut back. I was shocked to hear their top shelf bar closes at 10 PM on a Saturday night! Then, the formally great breakfast buffet was below average. After that the courtyard hot tub did not work. When we asked question about all the changes we were told "new owners" every time. The good news is that the staff is all still awesome and try to help all they can. We spoke to two other large groups who were down for their yearly trip and they joined is in their open disapproval of the changes. The bad news is that new owners are clearly trying to cut cost and it shows. I sincerely hope they soon realize that both the La Posada Hotel and Laredo TX are quite unique in their international hospitality and traditions. They have always been so very welcoming and helpful, a main reason for the repeated trips by those who know and love it. This place has been recognized numerous times in both magazines and television programs and I hope the new owners figure out they have a gem that needs to be left to run as it has in the past, or they will lose it. I have done business in Laredo and Mexico since 2007 and speak with some experience that the worst thing groups or large corporations can do is try to "Americanize" Laredo.
