I really hate to give these guys a bad review. Manuel and helper came and installed a new variable speed pool pump in June 2019 that I had purchased from another source. They came and seemed to do a good job. Job cost $250. They even invoiced me via e-mail AFTER completing the work and didn't demand payment at the time of completion. They seemed very easy to deal with and I was pleased with the work. HERE'S THE PROBLEM: After the job was done they told me " Hi if you would like us to submit the rebate application for you, LADWP requires a hand-written signature, so please print and sign it at the bottom, and mail to the address below. Also include the first page of your LADWP bill. " So I did as instructed. A few weeks later I e-mailed them to verify it was sent in. No response. A few weeks later I e-mailed them again. No response. I e-mailed multiple times over the last 7 months and no response, ever. Worried, I contacted the DWP Consumer Rebate Program who responded saying "Unfortunately I am unable to locate an application with your name, address or account number." (Rebates generally take about six months, and it's now been seven.) So I'm out my $1,000 rebate still after almost 8 months. I guess I'll submit it myself to try to get the $500 self install rebate. I'm not sure what happened. I'd like to find out it was an honest mistake. I'd like to think that my e-mails have ended up in their spam folder, but I've sent from at least 2 different e-mail accounts. I'm questioning now if it was a scam and they submitted it under false pretenses and have received the rebate themselves. I'm considering if I should take legal action. !-- Support your local small businesses, I just don't think you should support this one. --! read more

This company installed my pool pump through a state backed program to replace old pumps to more energy saving units. During install apparently the pool pump wasn't wired properly and exactly one month after the warranty expired, my pool pump stopped working with an error code. Gave them a call hoping to see if I can get some warranty or get it repaired. Didn't receive a call back until after over a week stating that my warranty is over by a month. The office lady says she will talk to her boss to see what needs to happen. Now, it's been almost three weeks since the first call. They are only interested in making the sales and absolutely zero care for customer service. Find another more reputable company and a company who actually cares about their customers because these guys are definitely clueless. read more

I have to say that I'm having trouble believing all of these 5 star reviews. I called several places and got a few quotes for a new variable speed pump. There was a company that was a bit farther that agreed to give me a quote at $75 cheaper than this company. The front office staff said that they would match it to get the deal. I requested for a bid to be sent to me, and they refused and said they would hand me the contract when they are in person the following day at 9am. Once I agreed and scheduled with them they waited until 8pm that evening to have the manager call me and tell me that they can't in fact do the price that they agreed to. They pretty much waited until I had no options, but I'd rather wait a few days then then go with a company that plays their cards in a sketchy way. Beware of these tactics. Anyway, I'm going with a different company called Pools by Ben, who were honest with me about pricing from start and WERE willing to send a bid for business my way. Honesty and integrity will take you the distance. read more

I was lucky enough to find Manuel and Aqua Pura Pools on a Google search for LADWP and pool pump. It was so simple, I scheduled an appointment with Manuel who arrived exactly on time, installed a beautiful new Pentair pump on my pool and he even added an additional part that was missing from my pool system at no cost. I paid him just $200 and signed over the rebate to him. Everyone else out there wants $1300+ up front and then the homeowner has to wait for LADWP to go through the rebate process and we all know how long that can take! Manuel did a beautiful job and I'm really happy I found him. I now have a new pool pump, which is whisper quiet and I'm saving power and I don't have to think about waiting for a rebate to get my money back. Manuel is an excellent installer. Originally did our variable speed pool pump and took care of the rebates. I had him come back and replace our filter and heater with a new highly efficient heat pump. Once again, excellent work. I highly recommend Aqua Pura pool service. read more

I learned about the service from a flyer in the mail -- it seemed like a good deal and was professionally presented. Manuel came and installed the pump in no time flat and was knowledgeable, professional and courteous and answered all my questions. I just paid the small amount that LADWP did not cover and Manuel also filled out the forms for the rebate which is a great time saver. Getting the benefit of receiving the rebate amount up front is an excellent feature. These guys are great and definitely would recommend them! Two thumbs up. read more

Manuel and Aqua Pura was recommended to me by my pool service professional (he had him do a pump replacement as well.) He is offering a deal wherein we can have our old pump replaced with a brand new energy effecient Pentair Superflo Variable speed pump for $200. Soon I should receive a rebate from Pentair for $50 so the total cost on my end is $150...almost seems like it is some kind of scam...but it's not! LADWP is offering a rebate too, and Aqua Pura is willing to do the install now and collect the rebate from LADWP later so I don't have to wait for it myself. Dealing with Manuel was great. He was responsive to emails, showed up on time, and was communicative about the replacement and his work. He replaced the old pump quickly and did a nice job installing the new pump. And what a difference; the new pump is quiet. A few days after the install, everything seems to be running great. Another huge plus: I didn't have to deal with any paperwork! Manuel handled everything. How nice. I definitely recommend Manuel and I would work with him again if other pool issues come up. Professional all the way. read more

My friend told me about Manuel. I was excited for the DWP rebate and I reached out to Manuel. He arrived right on time, Professional and courteous. The job took him an hour and off he left. I am really excited about the pump and the money to be saved. My old pump would run 10 hours a day, but now the new one will run only for 2 hours at 200 WATTS rather than 2,000!!!! Call Manuel, hi is the guy for this!! read more

I found this company and Manuel on Google and ofcourse checked his reviews first. I am also very happy working with him. He is very professional, send me the paperwork on time and worked very efficiently. We scheduled and he was here on time too which does not always happen with contractors. After trying to have my pool filter repaired and reworked for awhile now, it pretty much fell apart randomly one day and began what I can only refer to as the great flood of 2018. So, now that it was painfully clear that I would have to buy a new one, I decided to just upgrade everything. After finding out about the city rebate, everything would also include a new pool pump. All the other pool companies wanted for me to pay for everything upfront and wait for the rebate myself. I would be out thousands of dollars that way. Then I found Manny and Carlos from Aqua Pura. Not only do they wait for the rebate for you aka keeps more money in your pocket, they are also really good at what they do. When everything was installed and it was time to program the digital timer, Manny looked like one of those guys that can do the rubik's cube with a blind fold on! He pressed the buttons like he had done it a million times before and knew what was next on the menu before my eyes could even register what the screen was saying. It was pretty impressive not only because of the speed but because of the fact that you could tell he was a pro. No fumbling around with instructions. No staring a the keypad. It was quick, neatly done and very efficient. Carlos also reworked all the piping to make my system flow better and I have noticed the difference. The pool is crystal clear now and I never hear the motor working, ever. It's that quiet. Great job performed by a great team at a great price. You won't be disappointed with them. Thank you guys. read more

Manuel just completed the installation of my new pool pump and I couldn't be happier. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything I would need to know about the operation of the new pump. Manuel, the owner just left my place after installing a Pentair Superflo variable speed pump. He showed up on time, did the work in under an hour and gave me some valuable information about pool maintenance in general. He sold me the pump I need and didn't try to talk me into a more expensive unnecessary pump which I really appreciated. He takes care of the DWP rebate as well as the Pentair $50 rebate that I should get from Pentair in 2-3 weeks. Total out of pocket today, $200 and then when l receive the Pentair $50, the net cost will be $150. Great deal and Manuel was very helpful. read more

What excellent service this company has!! I found this company through google because I wanted to get the ladwp variable speed upgrade to my pool pump. I called and spoke to a nice lady on the phone who told me I could simply send pictures via text of my pool equipment. I received a response same day with all the ppwk I needed to fill out via email and was able to ask a variety of questions of how the new pump would work. Manuel was very courteous and informative in his replies and I was able to schedule the installation for later that week. The installer came on time and even sent me a text to let me know he was on the way with his ETA. The install was done in under an hour and he explained to me how the new pump schedule would work. Amazing experience and highly recommended. They take care of all the ppwk, I was even able to pay the bill online! Professional and extremely convenient! Thank you so much Aqua Pura!! read more

I received Manuel's promo in the mail just around the time my pool pump was dying. At first I thought it was to good to be true...but it's not. Manuel is courteous, professional and excellent at his job. Within a week my pump was replaced and my pool was back to normal. It could not have been an easier fix. read more

From the very beginning, Manuel has made the process painless! The fact that he waits for the rebate is awesome! We have been in our current residence for about 4 years and I've been hesitant to shell out $1400 for a replacement pump then wait 4-6 months for the LADWP replacement. I would highly recommend using Aqua Pura Pool to get that replacement pump! Very good email communication. In about 1 week I had the pump replaced and they even do the rebate from the manufacturer for the pump! read more

I called up the DWP help line and was told about the pump replacement programme. They actually provided the Aqua Pura number and Manuel responded to my enquiry almost immediately. To be honest I was skeptical at first, it kind of sounds too good to be true, a $1200 pump with installation and all I had to pay was $200 but its genuine. You don't even have to wait for the rebate Manuel Sandoval, the owner of the business takes away all the headaches from the procedure. Within the week I had a new variable speed motor installed which is much more environmentally friendly plus the financial saving is terrific. I can't recommend the service more highly. Professioal, courteous and efficient. Absolutely no downside to it! read more

This company did a great job changing my pool pump to take advantage of the $1,000 pool rebate, I had checked with three other companies and it's incredible how many unreliable people are out there. Aqua Pura was extremely professional, they fill out the paperwork for you and they wait for the rebate, not you. Manuel was the best, hands down! read more

Too good to be true? That's what I thought when I first contacted Aqua Pura Pool Service. But first, a quick backstory: When our pool filter pump died after the heavy rains, I contacted our usual pool service who told me the DWP rebate program expired at the end of 2018. Luckily, Google steered me to Aqua Pura. After contacting them they got back to me right away, made an appointment to swap out our dead electricity-gobbling, raucous pump with a variable speed and very quiet, energy efficient unit. The best part? We only paid them $200 and signed over the rebate paperwork to Aqua Pura who filed everything necessary with the DWP. That was two months ago. Then just last week, I received notification that our rebate had been approved without necessity for an inspection! That's how much the DWP trusts Aqua Pura and their expert workmanship. It's not often anymore that a business gives you more than you could hope for, but Manny and Carlos make certain they do. Do yourself a favor and trust them with your pool service. They've got our business from now on, to be certain. read more
