Granted there was a slight language barrier with one of the waitresses but the other one on duty was excellent and both where more than capable. The Food and complementary starter where really nice. Would definitely visit again.

Not bad, but not great either. This restaurant specialises in steak dishes, you can choose between…read morethree sizes for your steak and six ways how it should be cooked (from very rare to well-done, aka dead). The meat quality is better than average - but the steaks are not cheap. I paid £20.95 for a 300g (10.6 ounces) sirloin steak with a baked potato. A sauce (peppercorn, mushroom, cheese etc) costs extra. Salad costs extra, too, but you'll have access to a salad buffet. The steak was very well prepared, though I'd suggest that if you want medium rare, you'd order rare, medium rare if you want medium, and so on. The beer selection is not great. Fosters (Yuck!) is the "cheapest" on tap, 4.95 for a pint. The slightly better Heineken will cost you 5.25. All other beers are 330cl and bottled only. There's a wine selection, of course. The decor is a wee bit shabby, the furniture has seen better days. The waitress was efficient and friendly, but the owner, a middle aged grumpster, was hovering about without a word to any of the customers. Very unpleasant. Upon your visit you'll be given a voucher for 50% off your next steak dinner, starter and 1 side (like the baked potato) included. With that discount it is a good deal, without the voucher, it's .... London. Would go there again with the voucher.

For a few months now, I am crossing Putney Bridge every day. And usually, you always see the same posters of the same restaurants. However, one day last week, I read a new name that I never noticed before: Glass Dome. When I was spontaneously looking for a dining place in the area, I remembered the name and looked the location up. As it was just a few minutes' walk away, I decided to check it out. When I arrived, Glass Dome Restaurant looked quite empty. It was only later that I realised, that this place is bigger than you think at first when you enter. Later on, I became mildly irritated, when suddenly live music was played behind my back. Not a bad surprise though. Shortly after I got my glass of wine, the very friendly waiter brought me two toasted, crispy slices of bread with some chutney. I was not sure about the chutney at first, but then I quite enjoyed it - a nice combination of flavours together with the bread. For starters, I ordered a deep fried brie with a strawberry and mango chutney. To be honest, I think the mango worked really well with the salad, but I am not sure if I should approve brie with mango and strawberry... Moving on, a nice big fillet steak made from Argentine beef arrived. It was flavoursome, juicy and simply delicious. I had it with red wine jus and big chunks of potato that they call rough chips. They were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. While the steak was great on its own and did not desperately need the sauce, the red wine jus went down really well with these potato chunks. The chocolate mousse sounded like a great option for dessert. And it was a good choice, rich in chocolate, but the texture did not feel right, it was not as smooth as I like a chocolate mousse. But that's just my personal taste, and better wrong texture and great flavours than the other way round. Overall, I was pretty impressed with my dinner at the Glass Dome Restaurant. Good to know where to find a tasty steak in this part of London!
