Bello is an Italian restaurant, but thinking about it, I don't think I've had it with more of a French influence. Coming from NYC, I'm usually more used to American-Italian. I had their veal parm and the tagliatelle nere al frutti di mare. I liked the veal parm, but I'm used to the pasta being more tomato, while theirs seem to be more white wine focused - definitely different from my taste bud from US! The tagliatelle was a squid ink seafood pasta. I like how they have either full size or half size portions!

We were told the wait would be an hour or more--and almost exactly an hour later, our table opened up. Totally worth the wait! The whole family loves Italian food, and Portofino delivered. We started with Caprese and bruschetta, followed by cacio e pepe, arrabbiata, eggplant Parmesan, and pizza. Everything was delicious, and the staff was happy to adjust a couple of dishes to our liking. One thing we didn't know before arriving: there was live music!
