This made the space quite comfortable yet elegant at the same time. Service was attentive without it being overbearing--helpful with the dish selection as well. We thought the dishes were great from start to finish. The burrata was creamy, complimented by the tart and sweet grilled peach while being cut by the savory cured meats. I ordered the lamb medium-rare and really enjoyed how it was prepared, and the pasta dishes similarly turned out delicious. We felt like the presentation of the dishes were very thoughtful on top of its great taste. Both desserts were a necessary closing of the meal--the creaminess of the tiramisu and panna cotta was not overbearing and helped highlight the respective flavors of coffee and fruit in these desserts!

I am also big on dessert so the new tiramisu recipe was particularly noteworthy, standing out from others that I've tried. Kudos to Boris and Elle for their attentive service; they frequently checked in on us and ensured our comfort. Overall, my visit to Pirata was a delightful experience that I look forward to repeating. Thank you Pirata Group.

We first stopped by Beans to check out the menu. Although we were quite interested in Beans' afternoon combo set menu, we decided to browse around first because Beans' afternoon menu is available until 6pm. After quickly walking around Popcorn, Park Central and TKO Plaza, we decided to come back to Beans. This was our first cafe experience on this trip to Hong Kong, and it can easily be the best one because we had a wonderful time at the cafe. We ordered one afternoon combo to share ($58 HKD). We also upgraded the combo for an additional $25 HKD and received another signature cake. We ordered a lava Earl Grey toast, a rose latte with 3D latte art (no extra charge), and a stone (a black sesame dessert with yuzu and cream filling). The toast was beautifully presented and its toasty exterior (yet somehow without a hint of being burnt) juxtaposed perfectly with its Earl Grey flavored lava. The stone dessert looked so real that I gingerly tapped its exterior, expecting some kind of hard-shelled dessert. To my surprise, despite its deceptively smooth exterior, the black sesame exterior was soft and provided no resistance to my fork. It was a nouvelle, yet well-executed, dessert. The only mild letdown from this cafe was the latte, as its rose flavor overpowered the coffee taste. However, the lovely 3D latte art more than made up for it as it kept a smile on my wife's face during the whole meal.

I really enjoy exploring the new cafes and restaurants that's been proliferating within the Kwun…read moretong factory scene, and I'm so happy with this find! As with all the others, the journey here is marked with cautious anticipation - from locating the right factory building among the many other grey, run down entrances, to riding that elevator up to the right floor floor with a row of silent big metal gates marking the entrances of other tenants, to opening that one door and entering into a whole different environment of glassware clinking, servers hustling and diners enjoying their food. // FOOD // FRIED CALAMARI APPETIZER: this was recommended by our server (who was amazing btw) as one of the most popular appetizers there. The fried crispy calamari was made special by a spice coating and green pickled chilies scattered among the golden rings, and the avocado dip that accompanied it cuts perfectly into the oiliness of the calamari. Calamari wasn't THE best quality I've had, but the flavors more than made up for it to make me love this dish. I would highly recommend this, as this is quite a unique dish! SEAFOOD PASTA IN TOMATO SAUCE: don't think this was the exact name, but that's the gist of the dish. Super flavorful tomato sauce, generous portions of clams and shrimp bits, perfectly cooked pasta. Simple dish, but surprisingly yummy! BONE IN PORK CHOP: it came sliced up to reveal the perfectly cooked interior, so it was very convenient to share. Lovely juicy meat with amazing roasted vegetables, and it comes with a yuzu dipping sauce. Save some of the avocado dip from the appetizer, and slather it onto the roasted vegetables; it's actually delicious! TIRAMISU: again, a simple dish but made really well! It was creamy and the coffee flavors came through nicely. TOFU CHEESECAKE W BLACK SESAME SAUCE: so this was more of a novelty driven decision... We originally wanted the double chocolate tart but they took it off the menu, so I guess I was looking forward to something more rich. It was good, with a sprinkling of nuts on top that adds to the texture, but I guess I just don't really like tofu cheesecake (tastes a little too healthy haha) // SERVICE // The server who took our order was super friendly! She recommended the appetizer, which we ended up going with and enjoyed, and took the time to clearly explain the differences between two different pork based main courses when we couldn't decide. Our water was also refilled regularly and service was really attentive. // ENVIRONMENT // The decor was nice, seating was comfortable without being too crowded (they also have several large tables so this is a good spot for a group! We saw two groups celebrating birthdays that night). However, it was a little loud - maybe because of the way the acoustics in the room are, or maybe because of the fact that there are a few large groups. It's not to the point of discomfort, but you do have to raise your voice a little to carry a conversation, so that's what knocked the one star off. Overall, enjoyed it and will be returning!
