    Dulce De Leche Mousse
    Anthony F.

Great new addition to Eastpointe. Ample parking and owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The Humita empanada is a must try - Fresh Creamed Corn, red bell pepper and onion. The Apple Slaw with cream cheese lemon dressing was very good pairing. For dessert recommend the Dulce De Leche Mousse.

If you're anywhere near Detroit Cookie Company, do yourself a favor and stop in. What started as a…read morequick cookie run turned into one of the best bakery visits I've had in a long time. The owner took time to share the story behind the business, explaining how each cookie recipe ties back to Detroit's history and culture. I loved hearing about the creative inspiration behind the menu, especially learning that several cookies feature local Michigan potato chips (one even includes Fritos!) It's clear that every item is thoughtfully designed and tells a story. The fresh cinnamon rolls are apparently legendary, and after hearing how they're made fresh daily and regularly sell out, I completely understand the hype. The cookies themselves were phenomenal and honestly, some of the best I've ever had. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the quality was obvious. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The staff was welcoming, passionate, and genuinely excited to talk about their products. The shop was spotless, inviting, and had the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. My only complaint? The prices almost felt too low for how incredible everything was. I can't wait to come back.

Delicious cookies! Great service!…read more I've been to the Ferndale location countless times and I am thrilled to have another location just down the street from me. They rotate between special cookies every month or so, but DCC also has original cookies that remain on the menu daily. My favorite has always been the s'mores cookies. Toasty marshmallow goodness on top of a chocolate chip cookie. It never lets me down! They also offer cinnamon rolls every weekend that are equally as delicious. They've been here about 2 years now, but sadly I don't stop in as much as I thought I would. The cookies are delicious, but somehow they all taste similar? The price is higher, the quality is still fresh though. The parking lot is empty more often than not and I wonder how they stay afloat. Stop in here if you'd love to try a delicious sweet treat. DCC also offers ice cream, coffee, brownies and cereal treats. Their selection is unique with offers such as XL stuffed cookies, blondes and peanut butter volcano cookies.

And maybe you are not curious about the family reaction, but I MUST tell you about it. My sons and I arrived at my sister's house, and we walked in with the cakes (birthday cake #1--white cake, Louis V flat topper, yellow filling, birthday cake #2, Joe--stick figure bicycle, and cake #3, July/August birthday honorable mentions: This is how it went down--Monte opened the door as he saw us bringing in the cakes and presents and my sister (married to Monte) put the boxes on the counter where I said I wanted to open Monte's cake first. Up to the counter walks my brother, Joe, who immediately says, "where's MY cake" to which I replied, you want to see your cake--gimme a minute, and then he said, is it even the right flavor, so now I am getting extra sassy, "Do you NOT think I know what flavor cake yours should be" and starting opening up stick figure chocolate cake. But, brother Joe still has to be a smarta$$ (it runs in our genes--totally an inherited trait, I think I saw it on my 23 & me DNA profile--it comes from my Dad's side of the family) and now says, "well where is Joey's cake?" (Joey is my niece's husband who happens to share a birthday with my brother. This time I answered, "B*tch, please. Simon--open up cake #3 with the July/August birthday cake and disclaimer at the bottom!" Needless to say, my family smarta$$ expections played out EXACTLY, actually, even better than I had hoped. HAHAHA. Reviews from my family regarding the cake designs were -O.M.G - these are so perfect - Monte not only loved the Louis V cake, but pointed out he was wearing LV at the moment. The cake quality and flavors tracked 100% awesome (my aunts used to decorate cakes like you do, and my family was super impressed--please note, impressing my family is hard because we all speak sarcasm as a second language, and most of us have Ph.Ds in Passive Aggression, and if you ask an opinion, you will unfortunately get a fully honest one. Well, you guys passed my crazy family's cake expectation exam with flying colors! I am not used to so many people in my family being honestly impressed--EVERYONE took pics of the cakes. Everyone asked where your bakery was. You all reached Aunt Lottie and Aunt Mary cake skills 100% and that is like winning 28 olympic gold medals in one day. Finally, truly thank you for putting up with me. My last note for those of you who left bad reviews or complained about the cake prices -- these ladies are BUSY and running a business. Do you even know how much time and effort goes into mixing the batter, baking the cakes, and then the entire decoration process? If you want a $20-30 cake, go to friggin Meijer or Costco and get over yourselves. Time is money, and if anyone appears rude, maybe stop for a second and remember the world is on fire right now, and everything is super expensive--if you want a professional cake done for you, expect professional prices. I hope I can upload photos of the cakes here. I forgot to take a picture of the top of Monte's cake, but rest assured, my whole, super picky, crazy, opinionated, family was in love with all of your work. THANK YOU!!!

There aren't prices on anything so it's really inconvenient to have to ask the prices for everything. There was a box of assorted cookies (that the price is based on weight) and the woman said "I don't know they're different weights" and didn't offer to weigh them or anything! Donuts are $1.50 each and cookies are around $1 each. A six pack of assorted macarons are around $15. The box in the picture had a piece of cake that was over $6. No handicap doors but there is handicap parking and as long as someone is available to hold the door, you'll be able to enter. The goods you receive are yummy but for some of the prices and the inconvenience of it all- not worth it!
