The interior was filled with interesting memorabilia, photos, paintings etc. The asparagus was fine and the feta and vinergrete really added a lot to the dish. They brought some nice bread and we used that with the table-olive oil to clean the plates. The olive oil was spiked with hest, not boring! The lamb arrived very hot and plated over white beans. Very tasty and flavorful !! Tender and lambie. The large white beans were a delightful surprise.

I highly recommend not eating at Chez Odette Bongrain. I've been to at least 200 different…read morerestaurants in France and have never had an experience as the one I had today. I arrived at Chez Odette about an hour before opening time and saw the tables on the terrace already set. I knocked on the door hoping to ask someone about scheduling a reservation (as I've done successfully at many places). No one answered, so I searched the menu boards outside for a phone number, but couldn't find one. A lady approached and unlocked the door. I wished her a good evening (in French) and asked about making reservations. While unlocking the door she responded with a rude 'non!', stepped inside and literally slammed the door in my face. Needless to say, I did not make reservations and went in search of another restaurant. I found a couple of places (also not yet open), about five minutes walk away, where the ladies were pleasant and considerate even as I was turned away at one place and accommodated in scheduling a reservation at the other. Again, a very rude experience.
