Avoid this company. Mike never answers the phone and claims that he cares for his sick mom (your personal life is none of your customers' business and is inappropriate to share to gain sympathy). Responds days later when urgent response is needed. At least 3 separate times Mike used his sick mom as an excuse for not contacting us for days. Gave us a binding quote and exceeded it by nearly 3x on moving day (after showing up a day late and being almost impossible to reach on the original moving day). Bait and switch. Do yourself a favor and google "common moving scams", they tick every box. We cancelled and will file a lawsuit to get the deposit back as the company voided the contract by exceeding the binding quote. They hope you're in a tough spot so you'll pay up because moving is usually urgent. We're lucky we had a backup plan. read more

Hired for a long distance move. Was lied to from start to finish. Original estimate was for $6k and on day of move was doubled. Packing materials were added in the tune of $1600 with no explanation. I specifically asked if they would be delivering my goods or if they brokered to other companies. Told my good would be loaded on their truck and delivered to my door. Not true. My goods went to a warehouse and were transferred to another trucking companies truck. Over 6 boxes are missing. Good thing I numbered boxes and kept a list of contents. Boxes marked fragile were crushed. Plastic bins were broken open. My antique cedar chest was cracked. This was suppose to be a full service professional move and it was far from that. I was horrified when they opened the door on the truck. All my goods were packed with no care whatsoever. I have only begun to assess all the damage. Afraid I will not recoup nearly the cost of what was lost. Their full contract which is provided on pick up day is long and convoluted it would take hours to read. So you basically can't comprehend it and provides them no liability for the condition othe move. Steer clear of this company. I am expecting the owner to say this is a fake review. I needed a couch moved from one room of my apartment to another. The couch won't fit through my hallway so I needed it pulled through my window. I called this place, asked if they could do it and how much, and they said yes and needed my info. I set it up and at the END of the call they said just to let me know it would be $99/hour with a 3 hour minimum. THE END OF THE CALL!!!--why keep me on the phone getting all my info??? Why??? $300 to move it from one room to another--you couldn't tell me that at the beginning when I asked???? Hmmmm--I don't think so--called another place with no minimum and had it done for $70 bucks and I tipped them $30 because they did it in less than twenty minutes. Haven't tried LA movers for a big move--i guess if you have a big move the price is about average--By the pics it looks legit and organized--it probably wouldn't hurt to give them a try. read more

Absolute scam. This business is running a bait and switch racket. We were initially quoted $1800, of which they (of course) demanded $700 up front. Two days before the move, they call to do an inventory (which the sales person refused to do prior to the $700 deposit), and then raised the price to $4400. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I called this company (LA Movers, Inc) and they quoted me a price of $65/hour for two movers with a 3 hour min. To do a 3 hour job, they spent almost 7 hours to move me! I left a one bedroom apartment to a storage unit that was literally 1/2 block down! No major appliances and no couch...only one guy actually worked while the other was a mover in training or something. They moved the big items last so I would be stuck having to keep them there. Then, they tried to charge me for packing material (on the receipt) when ALL my items were packed! I have neve felt so violated by a moving company. Rediculous! P.S. NOT RECOMMENDED I had a really bad experience LA Movers! I proceeded through 1 estimate and 2 official quoting processes, signing documents and disclaimers and contracts, with 2 different people. I paid a deposit of $850 on a $3100 quote. They were sure to let me know that the price may vary, depending on inventory and some other variables outlined in the contract....fair enough! HOWEVER, THE DAY BEFORE THE MOVE @ 5PM, I called them to confirm the pick up time, because they hadn't called me, or left a voicemail, 24hrs prior as promised. The guy who quoted me sheepishly said there's a problem with the quote and someone would call me right back. I then received a call from a different guy saying that I was quoted incorrectly and the new cost would be $4300, because of a number of reasons. I explained that it was their mistake and the rate should be adjusted due to their negligence,....the best he could do was reduce the cost to $3980 or he could cancel the job.....5PM THE DAY BEFORE I was supposed to move 980 miles!!!!! I was about to start work and here I was, stuck with this dilemma less than 15hrs from my move, after a month of correspondence. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL, it seemed like they were trying to leave me desperate enough to just agree to the new price, seeing as it was such short notice. I did get my deposit back; but I've heard of cases where that hasn't happened. So please DO NOT use this company!!! read more

I used LA Movers to move from Hollywood to Laguna Beach. I had everything packed and organized before the movers showed up. The guys showed up on time and packed the truck and dismantled my bed in about two hours. They guys are very efficient and careful. It took an hour to drive to Laguna and an hour to unpack. I paid for four hours as agreed and did not have to pay for the return drive. This was my third time using LA Movers, once to move from West Hollywood to Hollywood a couple of years ago and last year to a new building across the street. We hired LA Movers for a HUGE job. We had to move all of our online retail clothing stores merchandise to a warehouse from a storage facility. Soldat and His crew came early to the job, I gave them the run down on what we needed moved and when it needed to be moved by. The team worked very quickly and were very gentle with packing our merchandise. They even went out of there way to help us remove the trash from 5 of our storage units. One of them even offered me water. Extremely sweet guys, get the job done, and work very very hard. A+ and I would 100% call on them again for the next time i need to move anything. read more

I never write bad reviews but I am begging you if you want your things delivered don't use this company-This is the biggest scam! If you speak with JOE or AUGUSTINE hang up. The day of the move they doubled The agreed-upon price . We called 10 days prior to set up a time for them to deliver to our new address and confirmed that They would deliver Friday or Saturday...Based on the confirmation we then had pods delivered to our home (to place our remaining furniture and boxes.) The pod company charges daily and a week after our suppose delivery date are still sitting empty in our driveway .... because LA movers will now not return our call and will not give us a date that they're delivering or return our calls. Not only do the people working at this company blow you off but I've never been treated so badly . The representatives then told me to prove that they said they would have our things delivered and then said good luck with that . This company has made moving The most stressful situation and a complete disaster . DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Ever!!!!! My husband and I hired them to move us. We were quoted a price of $79 per hour for 2 men, not to exceed $500. We were moving out of a three bedroom home to a 2 bed apartment so we expected it might take a while. They showed up 2 hours late then when we got to our apartment there was an issue and we couldn't actually move in (not their fault but they sought to capitalize on our bad situation immediately). The owner of the company charged us $250 to store our stuff for 10 days (because he knew we were stuck with no other options). He also then tried to charge us more than the previously negotiated $500 max. This storage unit happened to be some random person's unit (that no one really could give us answer as to whom let us use it). We had no access to our belongings during storage and had to re-hire these awful movers to move it from storage to our apartment. During the final moving day from storage they showed up on a truck with someone else's stuff and had to unload it and put it into storage before they would get to our stuff yet they were still on the clock with us. When we finally got our stuff at the new place, about 40% of our items were damaged including a broken dining room table, a torn couch, a dented microwave, broken glasses, scratched dressers, and a trashed headboard (just to name a few things). Despite all the damage they still charged us full price (even though they didn't re-assemble any of our furniture), and said we would have to file an insurance claim. Their claim form came in the way of a "customer survey" and we had to write in all the info and make a copy for ourselves. To make matters worse they say they may require "proof of ownership" of our stuff in order to pay us the .60 cents per pound per item that they will cover. Are you kidding me?!?!? This is such a Scam! It's complete highway robbery and I hope no one else ever has to be subjected to what we've gone through. We now have to pay for lawyers just to try to get some compensation so we can buy new furniture. At this point it would have been easier to throw away all our furniture and buy all new stuff. It would have been cheaper and we wouldn't have had to deal with these thieves! read more

They wrapped, packed, and moved everything quickly, strategically, and carefully, out of my second floor unit. I had a large one bedroom with many heavy pieces of furniture and about 30 boxes that I pre-packed. The two of them had everything dismantled and out in about 3 and a half hours. While they moved extremely quickly, not a single box was banged, damaged, or wall nicked, they took pride and care in the job that they were doing. I appreciated that both workers valued their time and my time, completing the job in the least amount of time possible, while the company charged a comparatively low rate. They worked so hard moving heavy furniture, and took such great pains to move all the computers, printers, and a giant copier without mishap! Good experience but GREAT customer service. LA movers showed up on time, worked hard and were EXTREMELY careful with our items, which we really appreciated. There was a few small misunderstandings, they forgot the wardrobe boxes that we asked for in our order and we weren't able to fit everything in the truck brought (meaning 2 trips) at first we were a little frustrated but they ABSOLUTELY WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO MAKE IT RIGHT. Offering money after the price and moving the missed items at no cost. Hey things happen when it comes to services but LA Movers admitted any mistakes and did everything to make it right.
