Route 17/Warrenton Rd lacks a lot of sitdown restaurants, but look no more. Having opened just a…read moreweek ago, this place is worth visiting on the regular. The surrounding area has plenty of Mexican restaurants but this Honduran restaurant brings Central American flavor to the table (pun intended!). The menu is pretty extensive and they serve pretty much all the traditional dishes from breakfast to dinner (they're open 6AM to 9PM). Some dishes are only available certain days of the week, so be sure to ask if your pick is available when you visit. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and brought menus right away. Mr. Marvin, who is the owner's husband, took our drink order and even brought us a little appetizer on the house (tostones with pico de gallo). As an appetizer, we had "pastelitos," which are akin to beef empanadas. Pastelitos (3x order) are deep fried and filled with diced potato and ground beef. They are served with slaw and a side of salsa. Delicious. For our entrees we had the Bandeja Paisa (a platter of various Colombian dishes including chicharrón (pork rind/crackling), chorizo, rice, beans, avocado, and plantain. This is the way to go if you're hungry. We also had the enchiladas (2x order), which are essentially a fried tortilla with ground beef topped with slaw, a tomato slice, hard boiled egg, and grated cheese. They are large, so two enchiladas is plenty. Very authentic and with plenty of flavor. So good! The restaurant offers fresh natural juices and soft drinks. They also have a number of Honduran desserts (check out the "Others" part of the menu) and, on the other side of the restaurant, they also sells smoothies, crepes, waffles, and snack food (sisters business called Chile Mango). The restaurant's ambiance is very lively, staff is friendly and attentive, and food came out quickly. We can't wait to return for breakfast and definitely plan on being regulars!!

I happened upon this restaurant literally by accident. It was July 4th, didn't want to go to El…read morePatron, because I had them before and they were just ok. "Mexican" restaurants that were closer were closed because of the holiday. So I called this place to see if I could place an order. Now, they lady who answered the phone didn't speak English, which was no problem because 1) I knew this was probably authentic cuisine and 2) because it was close by and I could check out the menu. So the restaurant is adjacent to a grocery store. Nothing super fancy, and we placed our order to go. The woman who helped us was FANTASTIC. She didn't speak English and the menus were in Spanish but she patiently pointed out the options via the pictures. I know enough Spanish to get through key words like pollo, chorizo, etc. So ordering was not the hard part and the cashier was super sweet. The price was relatively low too. I got two entrees (quesadilla - chicken, and one with chicken and chorizo, they came with salad), an order of guacamole, chips, and fried plantains all for $30. So once we got home and tasted our food OMG. First of all you get a ton of food. The chicken and beef were tender and well seasoned, not hard stuff you get at most Mexican restaurants. This is a Salvadoran food by the way to be clear. Please get the chips which are crispy and fluffy and the guacamole I could still see avocado bits. Just as a side I liked the chorizo quesadilla. And plantains are my absolute favorite and these came with a dessert sauce on the side. Please go here! Work on your Spanish and enjoy the best Salvadoran food in Fredericksburg. Kick the other places like El Partron and Mexico Palace to the side. This food is authentic.
