Small family run business that out bid 4 other companies in the Santa Barbara and surrounding areas which included Santa Maria. I suspected that my best price would be outside of Santa Barbara, and these guys had THE BEST PRICE! They are from Oxnard, and perhaps because they are in house, their pricing was way better??? I don't know. But I took a chance on them and they not only delivered the best price, they delivered great work! Ours was a tricky project: an old Victorian in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, designated as an historic, "of merit home"... whoever bid on this project would have more hoops to go through before they could begin the work. Jose patiently took care of the permitting process, (I did have to get involved a couple of times as the city planning department is difficult to work with), but once we got the permit, Avila roofing got down to business like the pros they are! We had 6 layers of roofing material, yes, 6! I don't think they'd ever seen so many layers. The demo process was a lot more arduous and time consuming than they had initially anticipated. No matter, they did not complain. They took on the job and they were going to deliver. It took them a good week to demo, and then the repairs started: replacing old and rotten wood with new ones, installing insulation where needed, and when problems arose, (like when they found a bee hive with over 30,000 bees, they waited for us to clear the problem) before they progressed. No complaints. I'm under construction at the house, so there were a bunch of other debris... they worked around the mess, and at the end of each day, they cleaned up before they left. Huge thank you for that! Try them out, I've been in the construction business for a long time. I don't mess around with fancy names and marketing. Faustino and Reuben and the rest of the crew were so attentive to the changes and requests that I made throughout the process. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking to have Rain gutters or their house painted. They were also able to rebuild two patios and change out a couple of vertical posts that hold up the patio/roof that were water damaged. As luck would have it, Angel Carrillo just knocked on my door. He saw the tarp on the roof and offered to give us a quote. And boy, am I glad he did. Angel showed me how they use a self-adhesive layment that is more expensive but much stronger and longer-lasting than what other companies go with. I checked them out online. I spoke with Anthony, the young owner and Angel's older brother. His dad taught him the business. I received several of the typical obligatory dry "make an appointment response", but only two gave a get to the point response. The A & E response was intriguing, with a ball park, even though he had no reviews. In talking with him I was convinced that he really wanted to and had the knowledge to do an effective job, so I invited him and another. He was not only on time; he was early, but waited in his truck until the exact time. He listened to me and researched anything that I suggested, before telling me his plan. I tested him with questions and he flew through them with better ideas. I tried to suggest making another appointment day for the job. He then hit me with the best close in the business "If I had the stuff in the truck can we do it today"? Oh, I loved it! The quote I got was the best price for the amount of good reviews they had. Jon is very responsive, did not make (too much) fun of my silly questions, and overall great to work with. They were very up front with the cost and what additional costs might be incurred during the job. That is scary to hear, but they did not find too many areas of concern and only had to replace a few pieces. It was communicated and I agreed upon it before they did any additional work or added any cost. They were too nice and did not even ask me to move my vehicles (I did before their scheduled arrival, which they were on time for). They worked tirelessly throughout the day and were respectful of the property. Nothing was damaged and they cleaned before leaving each day. There was a bit of misunderstanding that Salvador did not know he was supposed to do the small section attached to the house as well, but they happily came out again a few days later. The Orange and Blue told me all I needed to know. Or so I thought. I sneered at the truck, muttering some choice curse words under my breath. See, I detest that color combination, Orange and Blue. I'm not trying to see any Orange and Blue. Ever. I'm all about the Silver and Black. But as drove by that truck, my Wife said, Wait, what? Before I could ask what she meant she said, Turn around. Turn around we have to go back! That truck, she explained, I need to see what it says. So I turned the Cruising Vessel around and drove back, pulling up right across from the unfortunately painted truck. As I read the side of the truck. My wife said, we need to call these guys. I knew she was right. I mean, not because she is always right, but because the inside of our trash bin was disgusting. You don't even want to know how disgusting. My wife put the number for GETR WASHED in her phone. Subsequently, she said it was super easy to set up an appointment. The company schedules your bin cleaning to coincide with your trash pickup day, so your bin will be empty when their truck arrives. Since their minimum is two bins we decided to have our garden clippings bin cleaned too. Both cans had untold years of ground in grime. The following week the unpleasantly painted GETR WASHED Truck showed up on schedule. They cleaned the bins right at the curb. They use 200 degree water. Germs don't stand a chance. The results were almost unbelievable. The bins were cleaner than I expected. Far cleaner than I would've thought possible. And they even smell good. No lie. They deodorize the bins, they re-odorize them with a pleasant scent. And the job was completed far faster than I expected, too. When I went to see how the job was going the big truck with the irksome paint job was already gone. The cost seemed quite reasonable. I think it was around $60 for two bins. It struck me as a good value. I was very impressed with GETR WASHED. So impressed I'm not even gonna trip about their distressingly painted trucks. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. But next time I would definitely wait until after football season. I don't want any Orange and Blue around my house during football season. Jason and team arrived on time to clean out and disinfect our garage after rodents turned up. Everyone on the team worked quickly and professionally. They went through the boxes for me, separated the trash from good items and moved good items I wanted to keep into safe plastic containers I purchased ahead of time. They were also competitively priced because the service was well worth the $300 and piece of mind. I called Jason and Maria one late Saturday, because I was having guests later that evening and my apartment was a mess and I didn't have the energy to clean it. Then, a week out, I texted to confirm again. No response again. Finally, when I reached out again and with less than 2 days notice, she responds and says that she had an emergency and went out of town. I asked if she could do it when she got back and she wasn't able to rearrange her other clients, so she said no. Just left me with no one. Could've cared less. She could've let me know so much sooner! Now, I'm stuck looking for someone else with no time to do so! We are going to clean ourselves and never hire Manex again.
