I came here after a bad experience with Los Vaqueros Restaurant. To be honest, I had very little faith in this place. To my surprise, it was the best experience ever. Val was so friendly and I explained the shrimp allergy and she told me what I could order and they were very careful. My only regret is not coming sooner because from the outside, it looked like they had no customers. I ordered 2 hard shell shredded beef tacos for my mom and she absolutely loved them. My dad ordered a fajita plate and he loved it as well. I ordered carne asada plate and I also loved it. It was a lot of food. My brother ordered Gobernador tacos and he loved it too. My issue is that they charge you for every single thing. One extra scoop of ranchero sauce for $1.99. Really? Come on?! And you expect to keep costumers this way. My wife and I came to town last night from San Diego and were looking for a place to grab lunch. She asked a friend of hers who lives in the area and she recommended La Morenita. When we got there, we walked inside and noticed quite a few people so we knew the place had to be good. We were right! We were seated and given our menus along with chips and salsa. After a few minutes, the waitress came by to take our order. After a short amount of time, our drinks and sopes came out. The sopes tasted just like the ones that my in-laws (from Mexico) make and we felt like we were sitting in their living room having dinner. Definite home style cooking here!
