SJ's BEST CHILAQUILES?! Consider this Part 4 of my quest for the best chilaquiles in the valley and I think we found our contender. Taqueria Azteca is the epitome of a sleeper hit, it's so GOOD, you can't miss this. It's authentic and the closest I've gotten to San Diego level of yummy Mexican cuisine. Trust me when I say I know my Chilaquiles at this point, I'm a little obsessed with this place. Ever since I got more into chilaquiles last month, I've been hunting down great, local Mexican businesses. San Jacinto is winning with this place. Located at the heart of little Main Street, I walked in and found my self craving a late Mexican brunch. I ordered the red chilaquiles which came with beans, an overeasy egg, and I of course paired it with a large Jamaica drink. It was perfect! My order was taken by a shy, slightly awkward guy who was very professional and quick. I was on a time crunch and they whipped up my meal in a flash. The ingredients are fresh, you can taste it. It's incredible that this place is so efficient AND effective. The place is calm, clean and inviting. Had I had more time I would've spent the afternoon here. There's tables inside and a nice little nook with stools facing the street. It's definitely my vibe and reminds me of a cool joint you'd find in Mexico. I LOVE it. read more

Finally went here and can't believe what Ive missing!!!! This place is amazing!!!!! Its small (3 tables and an area with 2 barstools ) but it's worth it!!!! We had 2 Gordita's, 5 beef taquitos, carne asada burrito and a pork tamale.... All I can say is this is my new fave place!!!! Love live loved everything!! Visited here for the first time today, July 5 and what a wonderful surprise! Clean, homey style taqueria just like you would find in Mexico. We ordered their 4 street tacos with a soda for $10.00 and they were delish! Carnitas tacos with sautéed onions, chili toreados and 3 kinds of salsas! The chef / cook even visited us with friendly conversation. We live in Hemet and we will visit here again as the drive is worth it! Visited again for the third time and this time they made us a green salad with carnitas and avocado salsa! Wow! Delicious. I had the carnitas torta with a tasty dressing, cheese, tomato and lettuce! I enjoyed my torta and my husband enjoyed his carne asada burrito. Torta: carnitas so tender, not greasy and no chewy fat!! Carne asada burrito was fresh, I mean come on! When you go to places and the meat is so dried from heating up so much... here its fresh!! Yes!!! Not that easy to find a good Mexican place here in Hemet. The salsas are the BOMB, spicy and with so much flavor. Very clean restaurant and great customer service.....no complaints!! We will be coming back, now that we found a good spot. Small place, didn't even know it was here. Drove by many times, until my husband told me about it and we decided to give it a try. I wonder what I will pick next time?? Was looking for a good burrito and we found this place . Inside very clean and variety of serve yourselves salsas. My favorite was the green salsa. I got the carne asada burrito added cheese, it was delicious. Just the right proportion of rice beans and meat . My husband liked the carnitas burrito. We will be back ! read more

My Family and I were craving so good Tacos after a fun day at the park with the kiddos and found a gem. Small and cozy spot full of goodness and great customer service. I had 4 tacos, 2 asada/2 al pastor with rice and beans, wife had the carnitas torta and kids asada tacos. Meat was soft and tasty not dry and bland like most places. I love the taste of their food and how clean the place is. The reason for the 3 stars is for the price, they're pretty cheap with their ingredients. When I saw the lady making the burrito, I saw her scoop the rice, placed it on the burrito then decided to scoop some out. There's not much meat in the burrito but just fillers like beans/rice. They don't give a lot of salsa either. They also don't give chips, limon, ravanos or pickled carrots. Kind of not worth the price~ read more

We ordered ahead of time menudo x3 it literally came with just the broth and some meat. No grain or other ingredients. We called back and they said we were suppose to request it. This venue is small and cozy. The establishment used to be called Chagoyas. They served killer al pastor tacos. When I took my better half here the Al Pastor tacos were still amazing. Then.... It changed... then changed back again but not quite as it used to be. I spoke to the owner about it and she claims it's still prepared and cooked the same and I had to disagree with her. We visited again on Monday and we enjoyed their 4 taco specials for $5.00. It comes with a drink. We ordered carne Asada tacos which are tasty, Al Pastor and Carnitas. I wasn't fond of the Carnitas but my better half enjoyed them. They have a salsa bar as well. We recommend their guacamole and the creamy red salsa. It's located in the middle of the red and green salsa. The staff is friendly and the establishment is clean. It's a tasty place for tacos. read more
