Great service. Delicious food. Festive atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. The prices are pretty good for the amount of food you get. It's very cool inside. They have these awesome stained glass windows, tons of wood carvings, lots of colorful decorations, and some vintage pieces. Staff were super nice. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We found out it was almost closing time as we were finishing up and instead of rushing us out, they were telling us all about the cool stuff in the room that we showed an interest in. My husband found this place after we were done with our appointment at the DMV and it was delicious. We arrived around 4pm, right before the night rush and were sat right away. Staff was friendly and fast. We ordered the fajitas and combination plate with chili Reno and flauta. It was perfect for sharing with your significant other. We ended the meal with the rice pudding and it hit the spot. The ambiance could use a subtle refresh to brighten things up, but the food was nothing short of amazing. I've been here a couple of times. I've always had good customer service, but the food this time was bland. I like how they give you salsa and guacamole with your chips for free, but the salsa had an interesting taste. It tasted similar to Clamato juice and not a salsa. I ordered cheese enchiladas and it came with rice and beans for $14.75. The combination plates are reasonably priced. It's located not in the best area of Hemet. Im sorry but i cant drop it as i hope no one makes the mistake to go to this restaurant as it has good reviews thats why we came in. They have friends making fake reviews to save their name which is sad. Went in there for lunch with my mom. Ordered: a chili colordo burrito and my mom ordered menudo. My mom said it tasted flavorless and apologized and so she asked if she could just get enchiladas as a replacement. As i ate my food i started to feel sick. The burrito was super tiny to note it was the size of a frozen burrito which im not use to. i took one or 2 bites trying to swallow it cause the owner was eyeing my table and i was uncomfortable so i forced it down the chunks were tiny and matched up to canned stew meat. I told the lady who turned out was the owner that i did not like the food and I tried to like it but I can't. Keep in mind i had a few bites was the tiny thing. I said i am so sorry i tried to like it and she snapped and said WHAT DO I NOT LIKE ABOUT IT and is said nothing. My mom ate her enchiladas as they were not as bad as the menudo we asked if we could pay but only the enchiladas. The lady again snapped saying ONE SECOND. We went up to the front and she said we had to pay for half of the burrito and enchiladas coming out to almost 40 dollars for horrible food. My mom said why are you going to make us pay for something she did not fully eat and she again got rude and said SHE ATE ALMOST THE WHOLE THING and then added YOU KNOW WHAT GO LEAVE NEVER COME BACK and my mom and we walked away and my mom never once raised her voice but did say "we will never come back here belive us". We were not trying to get a free meal as that would be disgusting of us but i am sorry but the food was horrible and i still feel sick i threw it up when i got home. The daughter of the owner of Arturo's shared with us how she took over the business from her dad who passed recently. Her dad was old school and didn't market the restaurant on things like Google. She's taken over and started doing things differently and we shared that we found Arturo's through a Google search! We had the carnitas and cheese enchiladas. 10 out of 10!!! Today was date day, and Arturo's was the place that my husband picked. We were greeted at the door by a young man named Eddie who offered us a regular table or booth. We selected the booth. A few things I want to point out is how vibrant all of the decor is. I love the colors so much! It is a joyous place visually! Stacey came over to get our drink orders. She was very kind and brought our water with lemon quickly, along with chips, salsa, and a small side of guacamole. That was pretty surprising because it came with it. We went over the menu while eating the chips with sides. I enjoyed their salsa and guacamole. My husband decided on the shredded beef enchilada plate, and I went with the Arturo's special Lengua #11. My meal came with a choice of soup or salad. I opted for the soup (albondigas). There are not many great places to eat in Hemet, but I am absolutely adding this place as one of my favs. I excused myself to go to the ladies' room (which was clean and semi cute). When I came back, Stacey had brought over two small containers of rice pudding to go. I really enjoyed my food. The service was good, and fun fact... Eddie and Stacey are married. I got to meet the owner and took a picture with him. It was an honor to meet him and his family. It is hard family all working together like that, and it's definitely something to be proud of. Very inconsistent. One meal was good next time it was not. Sometimes beans and rice are delicious sometimes they are blah We gave up trying. We are so disappointed because they are five min. My guests ordered various items. Two taco plate which he said was OK. My other guest had appetizer plate which included chicken wings, 2 small Quesadillas, rolled taco and salad-they were happy with the taste of the chicken wings. My other guest had an enchilada plate and said it was a lot of food. I ordered the shredded beef tostada. The shell of the tostada was dark brown, but didn't taste burnt, but there was some hard shreds of beef inside and the beef wasn't as good tasting as last time. Our waitress was patient and quick to fill our orders. We asked about the rice pudding that comes with the meal. The rice pudding was so=so. It didn't have the nutty taste and seemed watery. Last week when our group came she said there was no rice pudding... didn't offer an alternative or price reduction. I dont know why it's taken me so long to try this hidden gem but I'm glad I finally did. They are now my favorite Mexican restaurant in Hemet. Their food is fresh and authentic, the service is great and their prices are very reasonable. They serve you good portions so you definitely don't leave hungry. ! So far we've had the chile verde, chile colorado,, cheese enchiladas, a combo plate with a chile relleno and flauta. Some of their plates come with soup or salad and we've had the albondiga soup which is very tasty! If you manage to save room for desert then I definitely recommend their rice pudding.
