We were craving some chicken and got recommended by a friend to try out Pollos Al Carbon. We didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised with what we got. Our meal was packed full and piping hot even after driving 20 minutes. You could smell the spices from the aroma of the chicken, and it had really great flavor. The meat itself was juicy and tender with the skin holding tons of flavor from the seasoning. Our order lasted two meals, which is a steal for how much it costs! Not to mention their fast and friendly service! We will definitely be back again for their chicken and are all excited to try some other items on their menu next time as well. read more

Stopped by this restaurant today, may 5th to try their chicken. What a surprise! Moist, flavorful, perfect seasoning and accompanied with chili toreado, fabulous salsas grilled onions and warm tortillas. The best! I can't believe I slept on this place for so long. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the chilaquiles rellenos and the machaca plate, and both were so good! I had a really disappointing experience today. 4/17. I called ahead and came in around 7:55 pm. I waited about 25 minutes by the fridge area, and at least two waitresses saw me but didn't acknowledge me. One of them, a thicker lady, made eye contact with me but then continued helping customers who arrived after me. There was also a waitress (thin, light brown hair with a nose piercing) who appeared to step outside to smoke with the cook and then come back in to serve food, which didn't feel sanitary, What makes this more frustrating is that I come here often because the owner is AMAZING, and the staff usually recognizes me as a regular. That's why this experience stood out so much. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed. I'm leaving this review hoping someone reaches out, because I do like this place and would like to continue supporting it but the service today really missed the mark. read more

We were craving Mexican food a little late and this was the only place opened after 9 pm. We felt a little bad for going 45 minutes before they closed but as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest young lady. Their menu is a little big and she was so patient with us and she explained everything we had questions about. Her customer service heightened our experience here, she was amazing! We ordered a California burrito, the pollo asada fries, the steak ranchero and grabbed some of their chicken tacos. After taking our initial bite I had to run and grab my phone to get pics because it was so delicious I knew we're about to dig in! The food was AMAZING!!! So authentic and fresh. We tried a little bit of each other's food and we were all evenly impressed with the flavors. The chicken is clearly marinated and grilled on a rotisserie. The tortillas were fresh and we could tell they were homemade and the salsas were out of this world!! I couldn't believe how hard they worked on our meal even right before they were closing. My husband and I enjoy Carbon flavor,The chicken is flavorful, grilled perfectly the restaurant is worth the investment, and the customer service is satisfactory , however the cashier also serves as the waitress, which can lead to errors. To ensure accuracy, request the order to be repeated. I opted to dine in but was given take-out, and my flour tortillas were overlooked. The food was lukewarm, suggesting it may not have been freshly cooked in the carbon. The wait time was excessively long , It's a small restaurant and feels somewhat cramped place is clean. First time in, I ordered the whole chicken, a chicken burrito, and fries. The chicken was clearly marinated and fire grilled -- you could taste it. Juicy, fresh, and seasoned right. They throw in grilled onions and peppers with it. I don't touch the peppers, but the onions were legit. Fries came out fresh, hot, crispy, and salted just right -- not greasy or overdone. Burrito was big, packed with meat, avocado, and some salsa. No fillers. They're not trying to stretch it with rice and beans -- it's mostly meat, and I respect that. It was good enough that everyone at the house liked it, so I went back the same day for more -- grabbed two more burritos and another whole chicken. When I walked in, the guy greeted me by name, told me I'd already spent over $100, and signed me up for their frequent buyer deal. That kind of customer service sticks. They've got a good drink selection and the inside has a mural of Sinaloa that's a cool touch. Whole chicken's only $20. For the quality, it's worth it. I like to call this FUNCTIONAL MEXICAN FOOD, it's not the best by far but it's okay. I came in to grab a Machaca burrito on a Sunday afternoon and it was meh. The meat was decent, but I've had much better. The wait time was super long and I think they forgot my order for a while. They only had one lady taking orders for the whole place, they had her going to tables and running the register, poor lady. It sucked that nobody backed her up as she gave good service! The place was pretty clean but it's very small and feels a little cramped. It's not a good place for big groups, my party was large and we had to sit in individual groups of 4-5. Not the best experience. The specialty here is chicken but it seemed like all the meat was a bit too dry. This restaurant offers, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tortas, and off course CHICKEN meals. Think Pollo Loco chicken meals with sides like beans, mac, etc. I didn't spot a drink fountain, it seems like they only have bottled drinks. Don't come on a Sunday looking for chicken cuz they won't have any. Came at 3pm and they were sold out. Be sure to call ahead and reserve your chicken because they can only cook 6 at a time. 5-STAR!! Sometimes you gotta travel further to find certain items of menus that are only served on certain days, but this place serves Fresh plates Everyday! From hand made tamales to chilaquiles rellenos (which I think were BOMB!) this place has it all. The walls are decorated with artwork, some cool pictures straight from Sinaloa, Mexico. Casual eat-in seating is comfortable and you know it's gonna be good food when the servers are super friendly. A little surprised at the cost of a single taco to take the edge off before my dinner in a few hours ... but ... that f'in taco rocked. Here is the deal. Pollos Al Carbon is what a taco shop focused on pollo/chicken should be. They give a damn. The chicken is marinated in a citrus baja-style marinade reminiscent of what El Pollo Loco used to serve (30+ years ago). Flavorful with an impressive smokey charcoal essence. That first bite of the taco told me one thing ... they care about doing it right. We were very surprised at how big the bowls were. The actual bowls were old school clay and very beautiful. The waitress was something else... let me tell you. My first time trying it and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken gorditas were another standout. The masa was very light and not heavy at all, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The consomé was served separately and had a rich savory flavor that paired perfectly with all the dishes. When we first sat down, they brought out chips and frijoles puercos instead of the usual salsa, which was a fun and tasty surprise.
