I appreciate this location because it's easily accessible whether you come from up the avenue or down the avenue. The parking is not the greatest but there's plenty of street parking and a library parking lot across the way if all else fails! Inside: store looked and smelled clean. It seemed apparent that they care to make sure it stays that way. I didn't expect to see a bunch of arcade style claw games; that was a cool factor bonus. They have an ample amount of flavors and arrangements; for their ice creams and fruit options. I wasn't too disappointed that the manzana didn't have the tamarindo it was supposed to, ans I was grateful that they let me know before I purchased it! I do wish they would have offered to sub something else instead of the tamarindo that was sold out, but I didn't care to ask either. Definitely would go back for fruit and the occasional frozen fruit treat. They have a ton of unhealthy options too, if that's more your thing.

This place is clutch. Love living right by it. If you have kids, it's the perfect spot to run into real quick and grab them some ice cream. My daughter loves their ice cream. And there's plenty of snacks for the adults too. You can customize the tostilocos to your liking. Definitely a good spot to hit if you got the munchies.

Tostilocos with all the toppings. Packed to the brim

Very friendly staff and the service was great! I ordered horchata, ice cream in a cup, and tostilocos. I got two scoops of ice cream, one being mamay and the other recommended by a staff member. The serving size was great and the ice cream was creamy. Although we only got 2 scoops, it was enough as dessert for two people for two meals. Unfortunately, I got the tostilocos with all the toppings not realizing pork skin (cueritos) were part of the toppings. Next time I'll order without this topping.

$2.50 isn't cheap for a popsicle but I have to admit, the paletas here are really good. I had the vanilla and strawberry paleta and really enjoyed it. The outer coat of vanilla was creamy and the paleta had a good ratio of vanilla and strawberry. There were so many different flavor varieties I wanted to try. I've been to a lot of paleta places, but I've never seen a lot of the flavors they offered here. I wish I came here during the beginning of my trip instead of at the end so I could have come back to try a few different flavors.

My partner and I had been dying to go here since we moved back to the ave, last time we got here too late and the doors were closed. But this time we were successful in getting our ice cream on!! This home made ice cream is amazing and here's a secret, it's not your normal ice cream. If your want to find out what I mean come down and check it out and if you're a local in the area you already know why this place is so damn good!! Get yo sweet or spicy on yelpers!!!

Nice place on a busy street, just 5 minutes from downtown Ventura. It is a well run establishment with friendly service; the store is lively with simple and comfortable seating, like a coffee house minus the couches. Everything looks fresh; I had a popsicle and it was tasty; will be a return customer. Side note, the neighborhood is in an ethnic enclave so taquerias and panderias are within walking distance, making it a great place to have dessert after getting a meal from the surrounding restaurants.

Love love love! They have all manner of delicious ice creams and popsicles (paletas) in tropical and hard to find flavors (Nances!) They offer ripe fresh fruits, mangoneadas, picos de gallos, tostilocos, and my favorite: the deconstructed elote. Lemme tell y'all a story of delicious elotes: We walk in to the colorful decor, Spanish language music playing, to the intoxicating aromas of warm corn, sweet fruit and Chile powders wafting about. Having been sold on the elote by the customer ahead of, and having drooled over their order, I promptly put in my order. She takes out the corn, shaved off the sweet kernels, and places ever so gently into dish. Then comes the crema/mayo, lime, queso and tajin. Mama Mia! Que delicia! My pic doesn't do it justice! Order it! Order paletas! Order the ice cream! The fresh fruit topped with sweet chamoy and sour lime...you won't be sorry.

Tasty frozen paletas made with fresh fruit!

I heard about this place on instagram (thanks @805foodie)! They have traditional Mexican paletas (think of it as an ice cream lollipop) as well as regular ice cream cones. Their paletas selection is diverse - from traditional flavors like mango, pineapple, watermelon, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to more regional ones like nuez (nut), vanilla with raisins, coffee, tamarind, cucumber, pistachio, and even spiced with chili flavor savory ones. The employees are friendly & their pink hats and t-shirts add to the fun neighborhood atmosphere. Prices are very fair. For our family of 3, we spent less than $10. Very nice addition to the foodie place that the Avenue is becoming. Will definitely be back.

Skylar posted her pies for the week on Wednesday on her Instagram account, and I was able to purchase a pie slice box (3 different slices for $35) for pick up in Ventura on Sunday. This week's pies were strawberry cream, lemon with meringue, and coconut cream. They were all beautifully decorated and baked to perfection. The coconut cream was my favorite because it had a salty crust that paired well with the sweet coconut. But honestly, they were all so delicious! I will definitely be re-ordering more of these pie slices soon. They were worth every penny.

Went with the classic yaki (short for taiyaki which are the Japanese fish pastries they use) and it did not disappoint. Great vanilla ice cream. The yaki had more ice cream and chocolate syrup inside. And there were nuts and rolled wafers for the toppings. Delish. Service was fast even with a small line. They have multiple cashiers, which is helpful. There are also a couple of servers who bring out the orders, so it was just super efficient. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area. There are so many different flavor combos to try!

Dear Hubby and I were at Ventura Harbor Village last Sunday to get a break from the inland heat,…read moreand just to hang out for a while. After a late lunch / early dinner I was in the mood for something sweet. Specifically, I was craving a root beer float. We wandered over to Coastal Cone to see if they could help with that desire. Indeed, yes they could. In the summertime, they are busier than ever, especially on a weekend afternoon. They have a newer system for serving customers, which works pretty well, if the customer pay attention to it. They have you queue up at the door closest to the water. There, a team member directs you or your group to one of three stations inside. Each area has all of the services that you might need, whether it's just getting a cup or cone of ice cream, or ordering fancier dishes like sundaes and much more. I noticed a few reviewers saying that the ice cream is pretty basic. That might or might not be true, but what I see them emphasizing now is that they can make you specialty creations above and beyond what many ice cream shops feature. They bake their waffle cones on premises - and you can enjoy the sweet scent of the results when they come out of the oven. Heavenly! I can't enjoy cow's milk dairy any more, so vegan frozen treats are my jam. They were able to offer me a scooped vegan vanilla ice cream in a cup, with a full bottle of root beer to float away on. It was just what I wanted! A slightly larger cup would have made the experience even better / easier to eat & sip, but it worked out okay. One serving was plenty for DH and I to share. The best part was refilling the cup as we drank the root beer, then every time we added more liquid, the ice cream would foam up. That magical foamy texture is such a taste treat. It was $10, which initially seemed high, but given how long it lasted, and how two of us got to share it, it was a great value. They sure had a lot of people employed behind the counter. Like a lot. The line seemed to move pretty quickly as a result of all that staffing. One last note of pickiness. Perhaps in the off-season the owners might consider doing some deep cleaning and interior refreshing. The floors are particularly beat up and don't have that clean, fresh ice cream parlor look that might be expected. DH and I sat off to the side on the long built-in bench inside the busy shop. It has some shelf space at the back/sides, and those surfaces look like they hadn't been cleaned well in a long time. Just sayin'. While I enjoyed our root beer float, I had time to notice some of the details of the place, and those are my observations.
