I appreciate this location because it's easily accessible whether you come from up the avenue or down the avenue. The parking is not the greatest but there's plenty of street parking and a library parking lot across the way if all else fails! Inside: store looked and smelled clean. It seemed apparent that they care to make sure it stays that way. I didn't expect to see a bunch of arcade style claw games; that was a cool factor bonus. They have an ample amount of flavors and arrangements; for their ice creams and fruit options. I wasn't too disappointed that the manzana didn't have the tamarindo it was supposed to, ans I was grateful that they let me know before I purchased it! I do wish they would have offered to sub something else instead of the tamarindo that was sold out, but I didn't care to ask either. Definitely would go back for fruit and the occasional frozen fruit treat. They have a ton of unhealthy options too, if that's more your thing.

This place is clutch. Love living right by it. If you have kids, it's the perfect spot to run into real quick and grab them some ice cream. My daughter loves their ice cream. And there's plenty of snacks for the adults too. You can customize the tostilocos to your liking. Definitely a good spot to hit if you got the munchies.

Tostilocos with all the toppings. Packed to the brim

Very friendly staff and the service was great! I ordered horchata, ice cream in a cup, and tostilocos. I got two scoops of ice cream, one being mamay and the other recommended by a staff member. The serving size was great and the ice cream was creamy. Although we only got 2 scoops, it was enough as dessert for two people for two meals. Unfortunately, I got the tostilocos with all the toppings not realizing pork skin (cueritos) were part of the toppings. Next time I'll order without this topping.

$2.50 isn't cheap for a popsicle but I have to admit, the paletas here are really good. I had the vanilla and strawberry paleta and really enjoyed it. The outer coat of vanilla was creamy and the paleta had a good ratio of vanilla and strawberry. There were so many different flavor varieties I wanted to try. I've been to a lot of paleta places, but I've never seen a lot of the flavors they offered here. I wish I came here during the beginning of my trip instead of at the end so I could have come back to try a few different flavors.

My partner and I had been dying to go here since we moved back to the ave, last time we got here too late and the doors were closed. But this time we were successful in getting our ice cream on!! This home made ice cream is amazing and here's a secret, it's not your normal ice cream. If your want to find out what I mean come down and check it out and if you're a local in the area you already know why this place is so damn good!! Get yo sweet or spicy on yelpers!!!

Nice place on a busy street, just 5 minutes from downtown Ventura. It is a well run establishment with friendly service; the store is lively with simple and comfortable seating, like a coffee house minus the couches. Everything looks fresh; I had a popsicle and it was tasty; will be a return customer. Side note, the neighborhood is in an ethnic enclave so taquerias and panderias are within walking distance, making it a great place to have dessert after getting a meal from the surrounding restaurants.

Love love love! They have all manner of delicious ice creams and popsicles (paletas) in tropical and hard to find flavors (Nances!) They offer ripe fresh fruits, mangoneadas, picos de gallos, tostilocos, and my favorite: the deconstructed elote. Lemme tell y'all a story of delicious elotes: We walk in to the colorful decor, Spanish language music playing, to the intoxicating aromas of warm corn, sweet fruit and Chile powders wafting about. Having been sold on the elote by the customer ahead of, and having drooled over their order, I promptly put in my order. She takes out the corn, shaved off the sweet kernels, and places ever so gently into dish. Then comes the crema/mayo, lime, queso and tajin. Mama Mia! Que delicia! My pic doesn't do it justice! Order it! Order paletas! Order the ice cream! The fresh fruit topped with sweet chamoy and sour lime...you won't be sorry.

Tasty frozen paletas made with fresh fruit!

I heard about this place on instagram (thanks @805foodie)! They have traditional Mexican paletas (think of it as an ice cream lollipop) as well as regular ice cream cones. Their paletas selection is diverse - from traditional flavors like mango, pineapple, watermelon, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to more regional ones like nuez (nut), vanilla with raisins, coffee, tamarind, cucumber, pistachio, and even spiced with chili flavor savory ones. The employees are friendly & their pink hats and t-shirts add to the fun neighborhood atmosphere. Prices are very fair. For our family of 3, we spent less than $10. Very nice addition to the foodie place that the Avenue is becoming. Will definitely be back.

I love their pastries, but the recent price increases do make them a luxury item. Kouign Amann are my fave, but any of their croissants are also great. I haven't really tried their drinks. Had a Hot chocolate at the Camarillo location, and they even had a little latte art in the milk foam. A beautiful space to enjoy, but pricey overall. Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently. At Camarillo, the server was much more talkative and friendly because it wasn't crowded when I went.

Served with a warmed goat cheese crostini. No mention of melons it had a few slivers of strawberries. Overall taste not very good. Had my mom try it too she was unimpressed. She had the chicken salad. She said it was just chicken with mayo. The croissant was dry. The iced tea tasted like coffee unfortunately. The gentleman that delivered our food just plopped the plates down and walked away. No gluten free options only macaroons! First time at this location normally go to Camarillo and TO so I was expecting the same great food and service. There was a napkin on the ground directly under our table. The ledge by window was dirty! Just disappointing!

I usually buy ice cream from a truck, but today I felt like going to a store, so I visited. The store's interior is classic and reflects Mr. Softee's history. Looking at the old photographs displayed in the store, you can see that Mr. Softee has been loved by people for a long time. I usually order a simple vanilla soft-serve ice cream from the truck, but since I was at the store, I decided to try something different. I had a strawberry sundae, and my friend had a warm chocolate cookie sundae. Of course, both were delicious. The ice cream here is simple and reminds me of the ice cream I had as a child. They also sell original merchandise in the store, which was really fun. It's a fun place for both children and adults. A while back I read a Mister Softee review by my Yelp friend Gina. She had rented the truck for a family party and wrote about how great the experience was. That's where I got the idea. But instead of a family party, I thought it would be fun to have a party for all the kids on our street. Our street is filled with kids! I mean, the street is only like two blocks long, but there are well over twenty kids. They're out there every day, riding bikes, shooting hoops, running around without a care in the world. Good times! My Wife designed and printed up invitations, then went door to door up and down the street to personally invite everyone. She already knows pretty much everyone, so the Parents were cool with the idea. So today was the big day. I was super excited when the Mister Softee Truck pulled up and parked right in front of my house. And then the driver turned on the music. Aw yeahhhh! And that's when the kids started coming. Big kids, little kids, Parents carrying kids, so many kids. A small line formed. It was a trip watching what the kids ordered. They got to pick whatever they wanted from the menu. They could pick a Cone, a Sundae, a Shake, Ice Cream Sandwich, even a Banana Split. It cracked me up how many ordered a small cone. I mean, not even dipped. Just a plain old small cone. Such a sensible order! I loved it!!!! One little guy ordered a Root Beer Float. I was like, that would've been my order at his age too. I like how the Mister Softee Truck serves their Root Beer Floats: they give you the rest of the can of Root Beer they use to make the float. A couple kids needed a non-dairy alternative, and I was relieved that the Mister Softee Truck had some attractive options like Sno Cones or colorful frozen ice treats. Most of the kids enjoyed their treat right there next to the truck. Parents took photos of their kids and kids chased ice cream drips down their arms with their tongues, as kids do. All of the kids and their parents were super appreciative and thanked my wife and I for the party. We thanked them for coming. There were clearly a lot of happy kids on our street today, but I don't think any could've been happier than me. Thank you to my neighbors, and all the neighborhood kids Thank you Mister Softee! And most importantly, Thank You to my wonderful Wife for enthusiastically supporting my idea right from the start. Mikey C says: Oreo Swirl for me!
