This place has delicious yogurt and friendly service. And they were very understanding about my need to avoid gluten (while still enjoying yogurt and as many toppings as possible!).

Visited with my niece who absolutely loves this spot and was impressed with the prompt, friendly, service and variety of toppings to choose from (although I had the yogurt chips and thought they tasted a tad artificial). But in terms of the frozen yogurt, it was exactly what you'd hope for and the serving size for a kids was plenty for me. I think it's a great value. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a walk-up to order place so maybe plan to take your order to go, though there are a few tables in front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My fav shop in town for fro yo. Always solid and creamy!!! Just the right consistency. Pro tip: they have a punch card so take advantage. I also love "layering" my topping and you often get more and it's nice to have it not all on top. Staff are sweet and reasonable pricing. You can park right in front.... And they do pup cups!

My kids love it! Kids cup comes with a topping and they love the gummy sharks! It's a perfect stop after the day at the beach. The employees are always so friendly to the kiddos. They have lots of options for dietary, lactose and sugar free!

Loved this place for years, every time I visited Ventura beach I'd drop in. I am not a huge fan of not being able to serve myself anymore. I wish they'd bring it back to how it was. Yogurt was always made fresh daily with great flavors, fresh cut fruit and toppings. Workers were friendly, place was clean. But I like making my cup myself best. They do have a punch card. They did offer dairy free (vegan) options! Grab and go and sit outside at the table and chairs or head to the beach.

I'm lucky enough to live close by this cute, little frozen yogurt spot and get to try it pretty often. They have a simple menu with a few flavors and plenty of options for toppings. You order at the counter, and the employee makes the order for you. The prices are very reasonable. It has parking spots and street parking. The Coffee/Snickerdoodle Swirl flavor is the best! It's well run, although sometimes I wish they had different flavor options and the ability to self serve your own yogurt like they used to. It's still a great place to grab a treat.

Very cute yogurt place! I love the beachy vibe. I sometimes want to eat ice cream/yogurt after dinner and so happy they are open until 10pm (Sunday 9pm) Yesterday I got there around 8:30pm, some customers were eating ice cream ( maybe they wanted to eat ice cream after dinner like me :) ) I tried Vanilla with raspberry topping and I liked it. It said, "no sugar added" but it tasted very sweet. 12 oz was good enough for me. Service was good. I think the price is reasonable compared with other ice cream places. There are some tables in front of the shop also there are parking spaces so you can eat in your car too. This shop is closed to the beach so you can stop by the beach after eating ice cream/yogurt.

I stopped by here on a business trip and it was great! There is plenty of parking around and it's a pretty chill place. I ordered a red velvet yogurt, and since it comes with a free topping, I chose gummy frogs. The portion sized were pretty generous for both the yogurt and the topping. It's a small shop and the biggest drawback is that it has a small flavor selection. Despite this, it still has non-dairy and low sugar options available so more people can enjoy some good froyo.

We love coming here for froyo! A yummy treat near the beach... lots of flavors to choose from and they're always very friendly!

Great frozen yogurt place. Lady at the front was sweet. Nice place to great a treat after a walk or anytime really. We sat outside and people watched for a bit. I got tart with almonds. The bf got acai berry with yogurt chips. $5.50 for the 12oz. size. with one top topping. It's not self serve. Cups are prepped by staff which is fine.

12 ounce Plain tart/chocolate froyo with brownie bites.

Good yogurt, good toppings, good price. For $5.50 we got 12 ounces of yogurt with 1 topping. We went with tart and chocolate yogurt and topped it with brownie bites. Location: storefront counter with a fun beachy/tiki vibe located on a corner near the beach. Will be back when we're in the neighborhood again!

Dear Hubby and I were at Ventura Harbor Village last Sunday to get a break from the inland heat,…read moreand just to hang out for a while. After a late lunch / early dinner I was in the mood for something sweet. Specifically, I was craving a root beer float. We wandered over to Coastal Cone to see if they could help with that desire. Indeed, yes they could. In the summertime, they are busier than ever, especially on a weekend afternoon. They have a newer system for serving customers, which works pretty well, if the customer pay attention to it. They have you queue up at the door closest to the water. There, a team member directs you or your group to one of three stations inside. Each area has all of the services that you might need, whether it's just getting a cup or cone of ice cream, or ordering fancier dishes like sundaes and much more. I noticed a few reviewers saying that the ice cream is pretty basic. That might or might not be true, but what I see them emphasizing now is that they can make you specialty creations above and beyond what many ice cream shops feature. They bake their waffle cones on premises - and you can enjoy the sweet scent of the results when they come out of the oven. Heavenly! I can't enjoy cow's milk dairy any more, so vegan frozen treats are my jam. They were able to offer me a scooped vegan vanilla ice cream in a cup, with a full bottle of root beer to float away on. It was just what I wanted! A slightly larger cup would have made the experience even better / easier to eat & sip, but it worked out okay. One serving was plenty for DH and I to share. The best part was refilling the cup as we drank the root beer, then every time we added more liquid, the ice cream would foam up. That magical foamy texture is such a taste treat. It was $10, which initially seemed high, but given how long it lasted, and how two of us got to share it, it was a great value. They sure had a lot of people employed behind the counter. Like a lot. The line seemed to move pretty quickly as a result of all that staffing. One last note of pickiness. Perhaps in the off-season the owners might consider doing some deep cleaning and interior refreshing. The floors are particularly beat up and don't have that clean, fresh ice cream parlor look that might be expected. DH and I sat off to the side on the long built-in bench inside the busy shop. It has some shelf space at the back/sides, and those surfaces look like they hadn't been cleaned well in a long time. Just sayin'. While I enjoyed our root beer float, I had time to notice some of the details of the place, and those are my observations.

The building is an original, 60s beach modern. It's a bit rundown, but it's clean and the staff is friendly, with plenty of parking and seating. Large menu of various burger shack food items: burgers, hot dogs, tacos, (fried!) burritos, chicken, fries, rings and of course, their famous soft serve! The soft serve is the thickest and creamiest, and comes in all shapes including cones, dips, sundaes, malts, blizzards and our favorite, their shakes. I have not had a better strawberry shake anyplace, including expensive ice cream shops. The crinkle fries are always hot and crispy and the food items are what you would expect - fast food but a notch up from the major chains. It's cash only and like most places, prices have increased over the last few years, but we will continue to return whenever we are in the area or passing through.

I usually buy ice cream from a truck, but today I felt like going to a store, so I visited. The store's interior is classic and reflects Mr. Softee's history. Looking at the old photographs displayed in the store, you can see that Mr. Softee has been loved by people for a long time. I usually order a simple vanilla soft-serve ice cream from the truck, but since I was at the store, I decided to try something different. I had a strawberry sundae, and my friend had a warm chocolate cookie sundae. Of course, both were delicious. The ice cream here is simple and reminds me of the ice cream I had as a child. They seemed more interested in closing than helping customers, and the service reflected that. We ordered two twist cones with sprinkles, and each cone got a single spoonful of sprinkles. At the Camarillo location, the tops are always covered, so this felt cheap and intentional rather than an honest mistake. If serving customers 30 minutes before closing is a problem, the posted hours should reflect that. Between the unfriendly service and the noticeably skimpy portions, this location doesn't live up to the Mister Softee name. We won't be back!
