Limited selection of beers but vast choice of tapas like appetizers. Remarquable combination of textures flavours and colours, with emphasis on Spanish/French/American delicacies. Large groups can enjoy a couple of rum shots on the house.

Tucked in a side street off the Marais, La Mangerie would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. It's bigger than you think, too: there's underground seating and a separate dining room to the right of the entrance, which you enter through a closet. It's dark throughout, and the decor is varied, boasting everything from Christmas lights strung up on tiny trees in the middle of wooden picnic tables, to old baskets and bicycles pinned to the walls. We came here on a double date and had to wait a bit for our table on the other side of the closet (which we had reserved, thankfully--it was crowded even on a Monday night!). The bartenders offered us a passion fruit-flavored shot while waiting. The number of people in the restaurant was an issue: it wouldn't have been had the place been properly insulated, but we struggled to make conversation (in a non-native language for some!) with all of the noise of our neighbors. We did have a blast trying the different tapas (truffle-infused shaved ham, burrata with fresh figs and arugula, and the tapas of the day, which was a meat and mushroom combo). After finishing this round, we decided to order another, but the four of us ended up ordering two bacon burgers to split (and I can assure you that even without the round of tapas, it would have been difficult to finish the burger and its salad and fries...). Next time we'll only do tapas (in two rounds to test them all!) and more drinks. The cocktails were delectable (try La Reine Margot).

We stumbled into La Mangerie looking for a tasty, easy place to have an early dinner with toddler in tow and were literally blown away by the experience on every level. First off, the owner is an absolute doll who makes you feel part of the family in one second flat. How he does it, I have no idea, but I've only experienced warmth and genuine kindness on this level in Paris from Marc at Bob's Juice Bar. Even though the space was a little tricky with toddler in tow, he made us feel like royalty, pushing things around and arranging us just so so that we got the most out of the experience. Then the waitress was like literally our best friend, tutoieing us, cheering glasses with our kid, popping around to make sure we were happy at all times. So, the service is amazing, but what about the food, you ask? Imagine a menu full of everything you'd ever want from a tapas place -- from crunchy chicken smothered in a paprika/mole type of sauce and the best fried potatoes to herbed-cheese stuffed roasted red peppers and nutella and banana tiramisu -- prepared to perfection, combined with affordable prices and voila! We also took advantage of the great happy hours from 6pm - 8pm with 50% off all cocktails, including the house margarita which was fabulous. Since we were there in August at 7pm, the place wasn't packed, but from what I hear it gets pretty full there so you're best to reserve a spot in advance.

Following a recommendation in my trusty Lonely Planet, we decided to dine here on our last night in Paris. Our meal was memorable due to the ambiance - this tapas bar is creatively and artistically decorated, the servers are friendly and add to the all around awesome vibe, and the food & drinks were delicious. The Marais is hands down my favorite place to wander in this city and I simply can't recommend this bar enough. It does book up so reservations are a must, though they do have a few spots at the bar if you can squeeze in there.

    So Charming!!

Perhaps the bar used to share the kitchen with the restaurant upstairs, but this did not appear to be the case during our visit in September 2016. My husband, sister and I visited Verjus with the hopes of enjoying a bottle or two of wine as well as some heavy tapas. When I mentioned seeing the tapas menu the bartender got confused and said they only offer a small selection of cheese and charcuterie at the bar, but nothing cooked. We attempted to make a reservation at the restaurant upstairs, but unfortunately they were booked solid. We each ordered a glass of wine and split several plates of prosciutto and cheese at the bar. Everything was nice, but we were looking for dinner and the bar was a bit warmer than I would have preferred so after we finished our wine and cheese we ventured off elsewhere. This tiny wine bar is very charming spot to grab a glass of wine, but don't expect to find any tapas here.

Call in advance to make dinner reservations because we did not and the only opening was at 9:45pm. So we opted for the wine bar downstairs, which serves tapas. At first I was a little bummed about not being able to dine at the restaurant upstairs, but the wine bar was FANTASTIC! Here's what we ordered, with the best being at the top of the list. 1. The GNOCCHI was to die for...the pieces were small and ever-so-slightly crispy on the outside. 2. The SPICY FRIED CHICKEN (yes, we order manfood staples when my bf is with me) was so juicy on the inside yet crispy on the outside. The chicken was bursting with flavor. 3. The FLANK STEAK with CHIMICHURRI sauce was surprisingly tender and flavorful. 4. We also had the CELERY ROOT GYOZA. This was hands down the best food that we had in Paris. I can only imagine what the upstairs restaurant serves! The bartender was super cool and was helpful in recommending wine pairings with our food. She poured samples to make sure that we were happy with our wine selections. She also speaks perfectly good English if you're wondering! Thank you yelp for helping us pick out a fantastic restaurant to end our week in Paris. Merci beaucoup!

We loved it! A real find that we were only directed to by our Air BNB host…read more It's a tiny delicatessen and wine shop, which is obviously popular with the locals. By no means cheap, but worth EVERY penny. No menu, just take a table (if you're lucky) and you'll be asked if you want meat or cheese or mixed. You'll get a decent sized platter with bread and fig chutney for £8-10 per person, and you can order wine to go with it. They speak great English and also sell a small range of deli items, from chutneys to chocolates, bread and more. And all the cheese/meat you taste!

The bar is full of Corsican wines, excellent sausage (some of the best), cheese. Pick your bottle from the shelf and pay a small corkage fee. Corsican whites are generally quite mineral, fresh and slightly salty (due to the island influence). They are a perfect match with sausage because the acid cuts through the fat nicely. They also have a range of wines by the glass but getting a bottle is far more social. The reds are juicy and spiced so again perfect with sausage. It's a non-debatable topic: you must get the mixed cheese and charcuterie plate. Its generous and so, so good. As I said above, it was some of the best sausage I had the whole time I was in France. And the whole shop smells of it too so it's impossible not to be hungry. Unless you are vegetarian- then maybe stick with the cheese.
