Always love stumbling across natural wine bars when we're traveling, and this one was such a great find. The patio is adorable and tucked among the trees, making it a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The bartender was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helping us narrow it down to an Albariño and a Riesling--both were excellent. We also ordered the Big Green Salad, and it was one of the freshest, most flavorful salads we've had in a long time. They also have a small market with unique specialty foods and serve coffee, which makes it worth stopping by even beyond wine. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town read more

La Mama is a farm-to-table inspired (European/American) restaurant with a thoughtfully curated menu supporting local/seasonal ingredients and a selection of natural wines. It is cozy, charming, lovely. "La Mama" translates to "the mom" or "the mother" in English. It is a feminine noun used in Spanish to refer to one's mother. Went there for 2 days in a row for the amazing coffee, some of the best we could find in Santa Fe. The Chai cake is incredibly good. Along with the bagels ,hummus plate with house cracker, and mushroom toast. Great service as well . Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I'm from out of town, but we have friends who live just outside Santa Fe, so stopping into La Mama has become one of our rituals every time we visit. It's such a special place, you can feel the warmth and love the moment you walk through the door. Everything is curated so thoughtfully, and you can tell that every single detail has been chosen with care and intention. I highly recommend starting with a coffee or matcha, taking a stroll around town, and then coming back for dinner. Their wine selection is amazing ( I always get a bottle to share ) and the food is made with heart. I have shared incredible meals, sipped great wine, and had a lot of laughs at La mama. I work on the same block so it is a shame , but they are probably doing me a favor and saving me a lot of money and aggravation in the long run. 3.5 stars A cute stop downtown. The once house is now a coffee shop, winery, and grocery store. Honestly may have more than that. It's cute with lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. The downside for me was no WiFi apparently a lot of people use a public xfinity WiFi that's nearby. And my lemonade was $4 for a small glass of mostly ice. Loved it! The restaurant is set in a small house with seating in the back patio; order the three piece hummus includes beet, which is fantastic and a wonderful bread that is made there. I had the risotto with shrimp, wonderful flavors with some vegetables and Parmesan,, my wife had the trout that she enjoyed very much. These hipsters left their front door open during a "team meeting" allowing potential customers to walk in and out and instead of greeting us or serving us, just let us roam around the store while "the team" sat around gossiping like a gaggle of high school girls at a lunch table. They only stopped yapping to size us up instead of offering us anything but dirty looks, they never once let us know to come back after the meeting was done. Another customer in the store had to tell us they were essentially closed-- okay maybe just close down the store then and don't let customers come in the front door? Or say literally anything to us when we walked in past the table of 10-12 employees. Maybe if you guys hate having customers and you hate our city so much you should leave us and close up shop. I'm not sure I understand the negative reviews. Their selection of wine was small but quality. My favorite was the Christina orange. It was dry and easy to drink. For a snack, we decided to try their pate and thoroughly loved it. My hubby is Vietnamese with French influence, so he grew up with homemade pate, so he's hard to please, and he loved it. LaMama is a wonderful coffee shop/breakfast and lunch spot by day featuring many gluten-free, healthy, fresh and homemade items. Their matcha was wonderful & everything was made with care. Most unique to Santa Fe is its natural wine and craft beer selection by the bottle and glass. They have a daily happy hour on all drinks and a selection of snacks. If you aren't used to paying craft wine and beer prices, you may think this place is expensive, but quality is what you're paying for. The vibe is what makes it. They have created a wonderfully calming & trendy atmosphere. The front porch features lively outdoor seating while the back patio features a more serene outdoor experience. Indoors there is ampl seating upstairs and the aesthetic is very pleasing. Every staff member we have encountered has been wonderful and knowledgeable, but Matt is our favorite. He has great recommendations that were "out of the ordinary" for Santa Fe as well. We've already been here 3x in one week and we will be back. read more

If you are craving a Dallas or Austin, Texas vibe, then this is the place to go. Also, we are not sure if this is a grocery store, wine bar, or a café; it doesn't seem to stand out in any of those categories (see below). The menu feels "homey/eclectic". La Mama is straining to reach the status of a "modern general store/café/wine place (there are several new shops in Santa Fe with this same aesthetic). The demographic is geared towards attracting the generic Millenial tourist. Cooked food: You can pay $10 + dollars for a bowl of oatmeal or order a "jammy" egg. Shelved food: There are preserved, bagged, and canned items which can sit as inventory on the shelves for a long time. There are a few refrigerated cheeses, etc but not a big selection. You can get "tinned fish" served from a can. There are dried goods on racks which are expensive ($16 for dried noodles). The preserved grocery items are not from Santa Fe. Seems the "general store" items are trucked in from far-off places. Nothing Local: and the name doesn't fit: You will not find local specialties here (no authentic New Mexican or Native foods). I am not sure why the place has a Spanish name; nothing Hispanic or local here that I could see. They do make butter and yogurt though, however yogurt is not really a thing in Santa Fe. They advertise "natural wine" as one of their big things. "Natural wine", as opposed to synthetic wine? Artificial wine? Not sure what the owners are going for. They are trying too hard to be Millenial and it comes off as inauthentic. I don't see locals hanging out here, or locals being return customers to come and purchase dried goods and tinned fish. I do see tourists though. Location: A positive is that La Mama has a porch and back patio area. This is probably one of its best features. However, this place is 3 blocks from the downtown plaza. There are coffee shops which are closer to the historic plaza. There are many cafes in Santa Fe with patio seating. I suppose if you just want coffee it is fine (we ordered coffee which was ok), but we waited around about 10 minutes while the house coffee was made. Overall: Meh. Tried once, but won't go back. I highly recommend this very quaint restaurant with wonderfully fresh ingredients that will not disappoint!! You must try the homemade chicken liver pate which spreads like a delectable butter topped with housemade pickled red onions! Do not be afraid to try it!
