Over boiled vegetables with dry chicken watered down sauce and a side of mush rice.

Food and Service. The service is incredibly slow compared to other La Madeleine stores. The food is bland watered down and cooled. If you're looking to eat a hot plate at this establishment sit by the fire place and hope some of the heat transfers. After a 45 minute wait to get a sandwich the chips were dropped by the runner on the floor a replacement was never offered or brought out. Although the plates look appealing the taste was completely absent. I would recommend a different location or restaurant completely.

It is hard to see, but it is the inside of the chicken. I had to rip it because I couldn't cut it. Embarrassing and shame on the "cook."

Edit: I will say that the establishment reached back out to both on here and on their website. That takes being humble and I do appreciate the class. I will return, In person next time, and give a further update. I thank them for their response. I really don't want to hurt businesses. I think we all need some constructive criticism when we need it to be better. Adding another star for the response for now. I ordered a via Favor so I wasn't able to check the food before it got to me. I got Chicken La Madeline and a potato galette. The chicken had no flavor and was burnt. The inside was dark brown and it was crunchy. The also had given me the smallest piece of chicken I've ever seen. It was inedible. The potato galette was also burnt, and dry. It was a hockey puck. It would have definitely sent it back if I was there. They should be ashamed of themselves for putting out such horrible food. It is a shame too because I used to like it. It's gone way down hill.

Picture of the sandwich I ordered that I was told it never came with a side salad.

You know, it gives gourmet without being pretentious. The bakery alone puts Common Bond in this category. If you can resist dessert order from the display case, I'm not sure you're human! The visuals and smells are always inviting, but the execution is not consistent. This time, in addition to my savory picks, It's been awhile so I thought I'd revisit my Common Bond review. This location is such a score for City Place. The only caffeine dealer apart from Starbucks walkable from the plaza, it's easy to see why patrons choose Common Bond.

I'd been to one in Houston before, but just for coffee, but I had a good experience there, so I was down to try their food. There were a ton of great sweet and savory options on the menu, so ordering was a challenge, but we ended up grabbing a pretty big combination of both types of sustenance. Savory: I ordered the breakfast burger and it was really great. Normally I feel like an egg takes away from the flavor of a burger, but that was not the case here. I'm really pleased with my choice here, despite the temptation to go with several alternatives. 5-stars. My wife ordered the soft scramble, and I'll give it this: it was most definitely the softest, most gentle collection of eggs I've ever eaten. But I think I like my rendition of scrambled eggs better. 4-stars. Sweet: Pistachio Croissant: All boxes checked. 5-stars. Snickerdoodle Cookie: I offer all of my praise for this delight. 5-stars. Gingerbread whoopie pie: It wasn't called a whoopie pie, but that's what it was. Like the snickerdoodle cookie, I'm mad I had to share this. 5-stars. Coco-nut cookie: We thought this was a chocolate coconut cookie, but it turns out it was chocolate and nuts. Knowing this information, we would have opted for one of the other, more delicious looking cookies. It was still fine though. 3.5-stars. Drinks: I ordered the dragon fruit berry concoction with my meal, and in a rare moment of weakness, I couldn't resist the maple pecan cold brew, despite ordering black coffee 99% of the time. I'm here to say I enjoyed both of them very much, but the latter did taste more like a milkshake than a coffee. 5-stars for both, but I would definitely order the dragonfruit thing again. Way to go, Common Bond. Here I thought you were just a coffee place this whole time, but your food is pretty, pretty good too.

I would risk another try though! Cookies and cream (4/5)-- this one was a good cookie too, capturing all the essence of an Oreo flavor. It didn't stand out in uniqueness but it was yummy :) this one was a little harder and crumblier than the Biscoff cookie, but now I wonder if it was just old or dried out... Pistachio brittle/toffee cookie (3/5)-- wasn't a fan of this one, as the taste was a bit off (either a little bitter or maybe artificial tasting?) and the brittle chunks were super hard, super sweet , and super sticky (like butterfinger filling but less melty!). The chunks were tasty (and veryyy sweet), but I had to pick them out and eat the separately since it didn't pair well with the cookie texture for me.
