I came here 2x in one weekend. Being from Southern California, I have access to bakeries of all sorts but I was overly impressed by La Joie. I had the savory scone, a peanut butter cookie and almond croissant. They were all huge! But more than that they all individually tasted excellent. I only wish my stomach and metabolism was more efficient so I could have tried the desserts. Guess I'll have to stop by again the next time I'm in Redding :)

This cute little bakery in downtown redding has an assortment of different types of pastries, desserts, and cake. They have sweet to non-savory items and also serve espresso coffee if wanted. I really enjoy their fruit tarts and also their kougan Aman pastry. But you can't go wrong with any other pastries as they are all very fresh.

After having lunch at the Marketplace we wanted something sweet. We took the short walk down to the bakery. Once inside we were pleasantly surprised by all the different choices of desserts. It was warm out (and we were stuffed from lunch) so something light and flavorful was what we were on the hunt for. The staff was kind and very informative.

Something for the road.

Ha ha! We walked in a little late, close to closing time last night. Great, new, fancy place, warm and inviting. So glade we have such a place like this downtown. The very kind attendant apologized for the short amount of items on hand and asked if I saw anything interesting. I did. In an overly animated tone I expressed, "I want that". My finger pointed to this humongous slice of peanut butter cheesecake. It was screaming for me to take it home. Yum, it was everything I dreamed of...unfortunately I dropped the box while heading in the house. Five second rule;) no harm/foul

What a beautiful space! Come check it out, totally worth the wait in line! Pastries are gorgeous and delicious. This new French bakery is beautiful and inviting. Perfect for a casual conversation with a friend. Cheers!

Triple Chocolate, Peppermint Stick, and vanilla bean with fresh fruit, my husband tried a bite of the vanilla bean one on the way home.

I was glad we splurged on three bags of cookies for the road - Salted Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Reese's Chunk, and Pumpkin Snickerdoodle. The price versus the quality and quantity is on point, not too expensive at all. The place was clean and organized, easy to find everything. The flavor profiles were incredible. And although it was very modern it felt like a bakery, not just a place where you get bread but more of a place where you can actually go in and feel the energy around you. Reminiscent of that feeling when you came home and smelled fresh cookies or homemade bread being baked, it's definitely not home but it feels kind of like it. Maybe it's the kindness maybe it's all the fresh baked goods, either way absolutely love this place and we go back often.

The one employee was still wearing an apron that said Bober Tea. Their website (the Bober Tea website) showed a pandan drink that I wanted to try, but they no longer carry it. I wound up ordering a drink with taro foam that the self-serve kiosk said would come with fruity pebbles. When I asked the staff if I could get it without fruity pebbles, he replied that they stopped making the drink that way months ago. The interior had lots of empty space and not much seating available. There was a lip-shaped sofa that looked stained and entirely unhygienic, along with some swings that didn't seem very safely installed and were put up to prevent their use anyway. The donuts and drink were ok, but the rest of the business just seems like a complete train wreck.

Unfortunately, over time we noticed a significant decline in both the quality of the cookies and the customer service. After several disappointing visits, we stopped going for about 6-8 months. We eventually decided to give them another chance, but after two more poor experiences, we made the decision not to return. Recently, my parents visited for the first time because my mom wanted to surprise our kids with cookies. Sadly, their experience only reinforced why we stopped going. The cookies were noticeably inconsistent in size and appearance, looked nothing like the quality you expect from Crumbl, and unfortunately didn't taste very good either. What was equally disappointing was hearing that the employee helping my parents seemed irritated by their questions and generally unhappy to be there. For someone's first visit, that's certainly not the experience you hope for. It's disappointing because this location started out so well. I hope Crumbl takes a closer look at the consistency, quality, and customer service at the Redding location. There is clearly a standard associated with the Crumbl name, and unfortunately, this location has repeatedly fallen short of it for our family.
