Teofilo Coffee Company - Barako drip coffee

3/24/26 Long overdue review! (Check my photos dates)-Attended the grand Opening & everything! Great…read moreFilipino-owned coffee shop in Carson, Ca (it might as well be Filipino town ) beans mostly sourced out of the Philippine farmers highlighting one of its wonderful natural resources: COFFEE. Check out "Barako"-known to the people of Pampanga as a "strong, robust cup of kape", at least my mom & dad would say over & over as we were growing up. This shop is spacious, clean, modern , formerly occupied by another coffee shop, Greendoor. TCC features Filipino coffee culture, supporting the hardworking Filipino farmers. The beans are roasted in-house, its humble beginnings of roasting in the proprietor's (Ron Dizon) garage. Barako is the inspiration, Liberia cultivar. My parents would often reminisce that it is the best coffee they've ever tasted, drinking it black. Teofilo was the patriarchal namesake, Ron's maternal grandfather. His very strong work ethic was embedded into the fabric of this coffee shop. Proud Filipino culture in every cup. The space faces the Carson Civic Center with ample, free parking. One can easily spend some time at their comfortable indoor & outdoor seating. High ceiling, modern music playing in the background, it's an ideal place to hang out do some work or just chill and enjoy a cup of kape. Staff are amiable & helpful Whether you enjoy your coffee black, hot or cold, this shop offers innovative flavors for beverages that are Filipino- inspired &/or pair it with baked goods (sourcing local bakers like Gemmae Bakery), it's worth trying. Plus, it helps support the small business owner & the Philippines coffee farmers. Come & check em out--see their IG page: @teofilocoffeecompany The branch in LONG BEACH is on its soft opening tomorrow 3/25/26 7am to 12 noon CONGRATS! MABUHAY

Great customer service. Supporting my fellow Filipinos…read moreIt was my first time there on Wednesday 3/18 at approximately 12:15pm and the employee took her time to explain a few drinks to me. I ordered pandan latte with almond milk. I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately there was no pandan flavor. I was slightly sad. Ill go back though and try something different.

I wonder what # coffee shop this is for me…read more I picked out this spot because I saw via photos on Yelp that there is ample seating inside to do work. I ended up showing up around 12:40 and there were some people but not a whole lot. I was still able to fit me and my life at the table with my coffee. I landed on ordering the pistachio latte. I went on a whim with this because I'm such a Spanish latte girlypop. Ironicallly they're known for their Spanish latte, but I ordered the pistachio latte instead. We were feeling... experimental. And I'm so happy I did! I loved this coffee so much. I don't know what bean they use but it is amazing. It's so rich and smooth. The pistachio nut is nutty and more a background singer. Not overly sweet at all. It is definitely in one of my top coffees for sure. I definitely plan on coming back to this coffee shop for both the space and quality of coffee. Also I need to try the Spanish latte, duh. The only sad part was my friend ordered a blueberry donut & she said it tasted store bought and not good. I can't comment on that because I did not try it but I figured I would add it in here. There have a private room you can book as well! I didn't take a photo of it unfortunately but it's to the left of where the cashier is. Parking is on the street & they have two entrances. WiFi is available and I think there's 2 or 3 restrooms I don't remember lol

Great neighborhood coffee shop in the wrigley community! A good place to chit chat or get some work…read moredone. There's plenty of work space in the main area but only a few outlets on the side wall. They also have private rooms that can be rented out by the hour. The main area isn't the quietest, so just be aware that this isn't the place if you're easily distracted. They have music playing and they way the main room is set up, you can hear the combined conversations that can get really loud. However, the music playlist is a vibe, I enjoyed it even though it was distracting lol They have new drinks based on the season so some items are only available for a certain amount of time but they also keeps their main menu up all year. I tried one of their new drinks- sakura matcha with vanilla cold foam. They charge extra if you ask to sub for oat milk, so 1 drink can really add up. The drink was okay, nothing really stood out to me. I don't think I would order it again. I would love to come back and try one of their lattes next time.

I ordered the Iced Ube Latte, which includes a bit of ube halaya mixed in. It had a nice, subtle sweetness--not overpowering--and a smooth, creamy flavor that made it easy to sip on while getting some work done. I'd definitely order it again. The price felt pretty standard for a specialty latte, right around what you'd expect for something a little more unique. Atmosphere-wise, it's a solid spot if you're looking to be productive. There are several outlets available, which is always a plus, and the noise level was manageable--calm without being completely silent. That said, it does get fairly busy, especially between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM, so keep that in mind if you're hoping for a quieter window. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's street parking only. You might get lucky with a spot out front, but be prepared to circle a bit or walk a short distance. Overall, a great little coffee shop with a unique drink menu and a comfortable work-friendly setup. I'd recommend it!

Overpriced for the most mid coffee "experience"…read more Decided to try a pourover and didn't even register the price until I sat down. IT WAS $13!!!! The menu said MP like it was a piece of lobster... They provided only enough coffee to fill up half the miniature cup (the water is in an espresso cup for size reference). The worst part was that the coffee was disgusting and definitely tasted like they used old beans. Originally came here to buy coffee beans but the roast dates were 3/18 and 3/30. It's already May and these beans would not hold the same flavor as they did in March. 0/5 experience, would NOT recommend

The cortado was smooth and very spot on. I'd recommend it to anyone. Pastries were very delicious, muffins were full of nuts not just on top but in every bite and they come from an amazing nonprofit organization. That Bánh mì sandwich had a bread that tasted so fresh, good-quality, soft inside with the perfect crunch on the outside. Spanish latte was just okay for me; I wasn't a huge fan of the syrup they used, and it didn't have any cinnamon (not sure if I needed to ask for it). Customer service: It did take a little while to get served and get my order down but totally worth the wait. Most busy places would notice you and say, we will be with you in a minute, but here I had two girl in the back notice me and kept working on drinks and other kept cleaning, Shoutout to Ethan who was an awesome barista who saw me and had great customer service. Overall though, this place checks so many boxes we'll definitely be back.

The downsides are that their seating area was closed, and apparently it has been closed for at least a year. It's disappointing that they really don't want you to sit and enjoy your drink, study etc., just grab your drink and go. I've gone to the Riverside location, as well, and there is no where to sit. Another disappointment is the larger drinks don't come with the signature Rad logo (skull) on the cups (at both locations I've been to), so it's not very distinctive from any other coffee shop.
