I put a spell on you... La Hechicera (or Enchantress) is a bewitching place full of the great street food of Mexico as well as many of the Caribbean islands. Here you can find Tacos, Tortas (sandwiches made with large loaf of bread), huaraches (like a torta but only using the bottom part of the loaf), and tons of other goodies. This is not Subway, the food here is tasty comfort food. With ingredients such as sausage, beans, avocado, cheese, ham, carnitas, carne al pastor, nopales (cactus), rajas (cut roasted poblano peppers), ham, just to name a few. My fave things is the specialty, the tortas. I usually get the Cubana (Cuban), it's filled with a slather of refried beans, large breaded steak, ham, cheese, avocado, tomato and mayo. This is no small meal, I can only usually eat half and it's pretty cheap at about $6. They also have not only Mexican Coca-Cola, but also Pepsi as well as many other Mexican sodas and Dublin Dr. Pepper in the bottle. Full stomach = spellbound. read more

Really delicious Tortas Cubanas they will fill you up if you're hungry and the horchata is always rich and satisfying perfect balance of sweetness/vanilla/ cinnamon/ rice/ milk. The red hot sauce is pretty spicy but homemade and tasty, the tostadas of tinga (shredded chicken simmered in chipotle spices) is my other favorite when I'm not super hungry. read more

This place is very inconsistent. One time you go in and food is decent and fresh. Second time you go back the fajita meat has changed to different cut and type of beef. Very bland and grey chewy rubbery meat that certainty is not what people consider "fajita". Employees showed a general lack of interest towards customers. Wish we could get what we pay for. Hungry kids that wouldn't even eat the beef. Now that is strange! But I can't blame them or force them to eat nasty food. read more

Restaurant is clean and the staff was constantly cleaning as customers left. The food is definitely authentic. Food came out hot and delicious. The only thing I was surprised by was that they don't have rice and beans, but the food portion is large enough that sides are not necessary. I had the flautas and one Taco de fajita. Had I not had the taco, I could have finished the three plate sized flautas. But, that one Taco kept me to only two flautas. Definitely recommend. read more

This review is for the Arlington location in N. Collins. Eating here is like walking through the streets of much of Mexico and eating in different corners. Delicious, the tortas from Mexico City, the sopes, pambazos and huaraches from Veracruz. And everything is good. I have tried tortas, the pambazos, the huaraches, and my favorite, the flautas. Everything is cooked and prepared with generous toppings, lettuce, avocado and queso fresco. The salsas are also good, not spicy but still good, I like that they are not given to you directly from the fridge, which makes them seem fresh. The servings are big, if you are a guy you can probably kill the tortas or a full order of anything, but if you are a girl that doesn't eat too much or watching your diet, you can order just two or three of the smaller items, or even share your meal with someone else. My recommendation anyway is that if you go with a group of people, you should order different things and share so you can try everything. The price is good for what you are getting. They have Mexican sodas or Mexican aguas frescas, with the only downside that you don't get refills on drinks. This is one of my family's favorite places. If you want to try what authentic Mexican food is like, go to this place. You might be surprised if you haven't tried it, but not disappointed. As for the service, you have to order at the register before you eat, and they will bring the food to your table. A small warning: some of the cashiers do not speak English but the menu on the wall is also in English. read more
