Super friendly and welcoming staff. I love the decor of the restaurant-very nice and gave it a vibe of walking into an authentic Mexican restaurant. Everything we ate was delicious. Chips and salads were home made. Fajita meat was tender. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be back. read more

This place is always packed and I think it's a great spot to grab drinks! I have had the breakfast before and wasn't impressed. The ONLY thing I get there now and it's AMAZING is the fideo with fajita meat. It's delicious! I also do like the crispy beef tacos, the rest of the food I have had is pretty mediocre. Since it's so packed, I'm sure there are other items worth trying- my go to is the fideo and michileadas!! The owner is also a nice guy - not a bad local business to support. read more

I literally discovered this place way to late. What a hidden gem right in the heights. The ambiance is fantastic and typical Mexican style. Wonderful. The food was really nice. We ordered queso but this one was very special. The waiter rolled the cheese right at the table with fresh made tortillas and meat and sliced it into edible pieces. Margaritas were great too. One minus was the patio which is almost amazing but still under construction. I can't wait to use it once done. read more

I was with a group of friends next door at an event venue called Los Ramones. Apparently La Hacienda and Los Ramones have the same owner. There's no food at Los Ramones, so we went to eat next door. Luckily, the restaurant is open until 11 p.m. on Saturday night. And we could get separate checks. We got chips and salsa. The salsas are too spicy. I ordered spinach enchiladas. They come with fresh guacamole and rice. I forewent the pico. I would have preferred a tomatillo salsa instead of the tomato one. The enchiladas were OK. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. They have piñatas on the ceiling. My dining mates seemed to like their tacos al carbón and chicken soup. I would order something else next time. read more

Food was ok, nothing special, but the reason for 2 stars is because the waitress never brought my change back, Yes, it was less than a dollar, but it ended up costing her, as I was going to leave a 5 dollar bill for less than a $22 purchase, Ended up leaving her $3 and don't feel inclined to revisit this place because it just left a bad feeling. Don't ghost me on my change, damnit. read more

Always a great choice. Friendly staff, great food, and fantastic prices (hope I don't jinx it). Nice neighborhood Tex mex spot in the heights. On my latest visit noticed they sectioned off part of the parking lot and are currently constructing a new patio space with a beautiful fountain. Can't wait to enjoy it this spring/summer! read more

It's a hidden gem and the food is amazing! 10/10! I'll be coming back and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely atmosphere.

The service was terrible and I will not be back . First upon sitting down I asked the server if their jalapeño margarita was good he stated " I don't drink margaritas so I don't know" ..ok I saw some reviews recommending a different guac that was not in the menu but had reference pics from prior reviews we ordered our plates and I ordered that specific guac and showed him the pic etc. Guac comes out with 3 stale chips in it and it's the wrong one. We get our food and my sister ordered Mole Enchiladas he brings Suiza Enchiladas I tell him that she ordered Mole enchiladas he snatched the plate back and left no apology nothing. He comes back later with the right plate after some time, my mom got caldo de rez she had been eating the actual broth and veggies and when she bit down on the meat it tasted spoiled we all tried it and the meat was off, we called the server he took the plate and left came back with a menu but didn't say anything no sorry nothing. We finally get the check and pay when we leave we talk to the manager and all she said was sorry you had that experience but we comped the soup I was like yeah it would be crazy to pay for rotten meat.. Anyways avoid this place unless you like spoiled food or servers who don't care. read more

Overall ok....highlights were that we were swiftly seated, friendly and quick service, generous portions, servers constantly checked on us and the vibe and decor was so beautiful and festively Mexican! The food itself was just ok, nothing spectacular. I'd come back to try other dishes. I had the chimichanga plate but it got soggy quickly (even with the sauces on the side). Will be back! read more

I randomly tried this place today with my cousin and was pleasantly surprised. The location is tucked away in a cozy spot and there was plenty of parking upon arrival. The place is decorated beyond belief, I was obsessed with the colors. The service was awesome from the moment we stepped in, everyone was so friendly. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with red sauce, rice and charro beans. AMAZING! The cost of the meal was about $12, super affordable. I would definitely come back. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

I love me some Mexican food. My dad is Mexican and we love going from time to time searching for a solid spot here in Houston. I found this place online and it looked I noticed some history that La Hacienda has been open since 1973. The inside reminded me of some places in San Antonio along with a traditional old school Mexican home vibe. Their Margarita selection looked good along with their site stating they had traditional mexican food. We had to check it out and celebrate my parents birthday early. The service was awesome. I loved the decoration and complete traditional Mexican feel of this restaurant. However, when it came to the food I was very confused and so were my parents. We ordered their traditional mixed fajitas. Even their tortillas didn't taste authentic. The fajita meat was very dry and not flavorful. The shrimp that we received was very overcooked and rubbery with a fishy aftertaste. It seems there has been a series of disappointment lately with places i have been visiting. I think I will stay home for a bit and let my luck turn around! I think this is a great place to grab margaritas and have a fun time with friends and family but maybe stay away from the fajitas? Also, prepare to spend a pretty penny. They are amongst one of the most expensive Mexican Restaurants I've visited in this area. Most options with certain plates also request you to add a meat to your plate and causes the dish to be 3x more expensive. read more

Let me start with that the restaurant itself, the atmosphere, is awesome. It makes you believe you're in a little Mexican villa. Which makes it entirely more disappointing when you taste the food. The "queso", is melted Velveeta, that had to be sent back. After that, my chicken entree was overcooked, rubbery, and flavorless. Not only would I not call this Mexican, it doesn't even deserve the term Tex-Mex. read more

I went out to eat with a friend, and the waiter wasn't friendly at all; I ordered *enchiladas suizas* and found a fly inside them. The manager didn't help with the situation either. In my opinion, this restaurant doesn't care about customer feedback, but I'm letting everyone know anyway that the food there has flies in it. Please, if you do eat there, check your food carefully--I found it disgusting. read more

A few friends and I visited La Hacienda over the weekend for lunch and it was the first time for all of us. Upon entering, I was impressed with the fun and colorful interior as well as how large it was. There was plenty of seating and we were some of the first there. Upon being seated, we were served with chips and salsas to enjoy while we reviewed the menu. Overall, the service was good. One thing I loved was the wide variety of flavors for the margaritas! My friends and I ordered different flavors so we could try each others, but the Amaretto flavor was surprisingly my favorite. I ended up ordering the cheese enchiladas which were served with refried beans and rice. The enchiladas weren't the best I've every had but were enjoyable and something I'd order again. I would visit La Hacienda again as I loved the ambiance and thought the pricing was reasonable! read more

The margaritas was good. The food was good, but it's too much sauce on my enchiladas. Will recommend nice atmosphere large space.

the service has improved, kudos to the staff. the Chili con carne smelled like it was burned and tasted like that as well. the meat in the tacos tasted weird. enchiladas were just ok. Beans and rice were bland. the margaritas were meh, they tasted OK but weren't very strong. it's similar to other Tex-mex places around (Ti&s, Don J&se), but costs more. read more

From the host, busier and server, everything went well. The Enchiladas Verdes which are my favorite were done perfectly! I recommend La Hacienda read more

Came on Firiday afternoon Gorgeous decorations like a Mexican Plaza. Quiet Mexican music playing. Greeted and sitted without a problem, comfortable booth. Friendly affable staff, knowledgeable about menu. I had tortilla soup, excellent. My sister had Caldo de Rez, meat fell off bone, best ever. My wife had taco salad, she said it was ok, should have had soup. Finished with coffee(weak) and delicious Tres leches. read more

This is my new favorite Tex-Méx spot! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I was looking for some yummy enchiladas verdes and these are on point. The rice is fresh and tasted homemade. My husband liked the flautas and my in laws the stew. The ambiance is great, it's like you are silting in a Mexican patio. The only thing that they could do to improve are the salsa and chips. I like my chips and salsa warm and these were cold although the salsa has a good flavor read more

We were a party of 8 on cinco de Mayo. We started outside with a pitcher of margs (28 dollars a pitcher) while we waited for our table. That was definitely the move. Once our table was ready, we headed inside and were seated right by the bar. Our server was super nice, but also very busy. We ordered more margs, a couple of beers and our entrees. The menu is HUGE- plenty of options for everyone. I ordered the tacos Al carbon- one beef and one chicken. It was very good- the tortillas were fresh and the meat was great. The night was really interrupted by our server just having a bad night- he was struggling to figure out why some of our order was on another tables tab, then another table he had got the wrong food all at the same time. We were forgotten multiple times trying to pay. We probably waited 30 minutes just to give our cards. They have these handheld devices that make it easy to split checks as long as the order is right. I used to work at a Mexican restaurant, so I'm going to give him some grace. But that would've been a perfect time for someone to step in and help him- send a manager over or something. I watched all 3 tables... no one came. He was just trying his best. I bet when it's not as busy it's fine. But just based on that experience, this won't be my first choice next time. read more

Check this out, for a temporary period of time, it is happy hour all day, every day. The lunch specials are well priced and delicious. I had suize enchiladas: two chicken filled enchiladas with a cheese and sour cream sauce, grilled veggies, a small side salad, and rice/beans. All this for only $8.50! On the way out, look for a stainless steel container at the exit. There are complimentary buenelos, sweet and crunchy. Yummy! read more

Love this neighborhood hidden gem. Plenty of parking, never a wait, and always great service. The ambiance is really authentic, almost feels like a Mexican resort. I've had several things in the menu and everything has been great. Their lunch specials are a great deal and the dinner prices are still half of El Tiempo prices. Love their green sauce and warm hot sauce is a bit spicy but flavorful. My lunch go-to is their chicken tortilla soup. It's a HUGE portion and has a ton of thick cut veggies. Best tortilla soup in the heights IMO. The only negative is that the house margaritas aren't strong, can't really taste much alcohol. Maybe I'll try a top shelf marg next time or order an extra shot to add. read more

Some of the best beef fajita meat I've had. Just a small little place with a really really cool interior. The fajita meat was outstanding. Compliments to that chef. I was seeking this place to do a large company party and came to check it out on my own to see if the venue would be able to fit 50 people! I had reached out via phone a week before needing to schedule a party and the manager Frank spoke to me on the phone. He told me that he had just came to that restaurant so he was still fairly new to how the restaurant operated and what their regular processes were for large group parties as such but he would find out for me. I also had requested a quote for a party of 50 people for a 3 hour lunch service on a Friday afternoon. I also had planned to have a mariachi band come perform our guests as well and I also wanted to bring a microphone to make annoucements to our guests during the lunch, Frank said it would be alright for us to have everything we requested. Frank gave me a great quote and it was definitely within my company's budget! I decided to come there anonymously one night with my boyfriend for dinner. It was a tuesday night, very slow because the parking lot was fairly empty and when I entered the restaurant only had about 4 tables filled with small families/ groups of 2-4 people at most. There were 2 waiters and 1 host/hostess that was walking around and the hostess seated me quickly in a booth and gave me a menu. About 10 minutes later a server came by with a basket of chips and salsa for my table and the table behind me and then my boyfriend came into the restaurant. There wasn't anyone who came by to check on my table or to bring us utensils/plates/napkins for us to eat the chips and salsas. finally a guy came by our table to ask if we were ready to order (after about 20 minutes from when my boyfriend came into the restaurant) and asked what we'd like to order for food. I ordered the beef fajitas and my boyfriend ordered the mole enchiladas. We also asked him for another cup of water for my boyfriend and plates/utensils/napkins. after he walked away, my boyfriend and I wanted to order a queso and so when he came back with our plates he put in the order for a queso and a strawberry margaritas and my boyfriend's beer. the queso came out fairly quickly but it looked like it was like velveta cheese with some beef on top and small bowl of jalapenos on the side. It was alright, but nothing really spectacular. The food came out about 30 minutes later and it was enjoyable. The food was good overall and the waiter did come by once more after we got our food to refill our water cups and see if everything came out correctly/well. Overall, for a slow night, service was sub-par. I would have liked to have better service especially on a slow night but the food was good and I did have great follow up from Frank with planning the party. We didn't end up going with La Hacienda for our company party but definitely will keep them in mind for any future gatherings- hopefully service will be improved and not what I experienced on the Tuesday Night. read more

Meh super mid.
