WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing experience this was! My sister and I went to the St. Regis for a spa appointment and wanted to try out the afternoon tea. Our waitress, Mihaela, was exceptional!!! We told her the different notes that we like and she recommended which teas for us to have; she was spot on every time! The afternoon tea is absolutely an experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a wonderfully relaxing time and make sure that you have Mihaela as your waitress! She made the entire experience that much more enjoyable! The restaurant is overlooking the ocean and wedding arches inside of the stunning St. Regis hotel. We had to wait for our room so we decided to have afternoon snack here. First of, they are understaffed. There was only one person who did everything; from taking orders, serving, and cleaning. We had to go to the cashier to place our order but had to wait a good 10 min. We ordered the chocolate eclair, croissant, and guava & cream cheese pastilla. The chocolate eclair looked stunning. It was probably the best one out of the 3 but not as decadent. The other 2 were just ok. I also ordered the Cappuccino which was served with St Regis insignia. Price was decent, considering it's at the St. Regis. FYI, they don't serve afternoon tea anymore. All ala carte. read more

La Goumandise used to be famous for the elegant birdcage afternoon tea. Since Covid this has been suspended but we hope it returns soon. Management thinks that may happen by June or so. In the meantime there is only a selection of pastries and some other items in a glass refrigerated cart, coffee, tea and the like. However the lobby setting is upscale and comfortable as you would expect in a St. Regis. The pastry we selected, a raspberry and lemon cake, was quite delicious, with some macchiatos for an afternoon pick me up. read more

! One of the best afternoon teas I have ever experienced in Miami. From the moment we sat down we were truly treated like royalty. The chef even introduced himself and really was a creative force in our experience today. My little girl adores high tea and being treated like a princess. They did not disappoint here. The pastries are all made in house and they have over 20 kinds of tea to try I highly recommend the st Regis blend made just for this property it's a flowery British black tea. I really enjoyed the warm scones and house made mango jam. The sandwiches were incredible so unique and so much attention to detail. They also have an amazing tea for children with creative sandwiches I've never seen god dust on grilled cheese before but hey we are living it up. If ambiance is your cup of tea then the views here cannot be matched. I encourage everyone to experience this afternoon tea once it's worth the splurge ! read more

We went for the afternoon tea that is offered daily from 1PM-4PM. It was amazing service, food, and tea. At 3PM a pianist played. It is a relaxing ambiance and they do not rush you. When I made the reservation I mentioned we were celebrating my friend's birthday. The staff acknowledged it by wishing her a happy birthday, provided a special happy birthday sign on the birdcage, and provided complimentary chocolate strawberries. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We felt very welcomed during our visit. The tea includes your own pot of tea (no tea bags here!), scones with clotted cream and jam, tea sandwiches (lobster, salmon, cucumber, egg, and turkey), and pastries/chocolates. IT was a feast. We took some of it home. They serve the pastries in a bird cage that hangs next to your table. It included macaroons, chocolates, tortes, yogurt, chocolate bomb, etc. Everything was fresh and delicious. We used a travelzoo voucher and received chocolate croissants to take home! The valet parking is validated for $15. Overall, it was a great experience and we will be back. It is nice to know some places still offer top notch service where they make you feel special and welcomed. Pet friendly!!! read more

Even at a St. Regis, breakfast buffets tend to have a common feature: screaming children running amok. This is not the place to go for a quiet breakfast. (It is also pretty noisy during dinner in the evening.) This one is also usually very crowded with long waits to find a clean place to sit and to get food from the hot table line or omelette bar. They allow dogs inside this restaurant. And, the clown at the table next to mine one morning paid no attention while letting his dog wander to the end of its leash. It got under my table. A woman at another table almost tripped over it. Nonetheless, the choices of food are very good. A wide range of juices, pastries, parfaits, muffins, bacon, scrambled eggs, and an omelette bar. (Although, I was a bit disappointed that they don't have spinach as an option for omelette fillings.) The staff is very, very nice, polite and helpful despite being overwhelmed by too many patrons for too few servers. This restaurant seems routinely understaffed for the usual number of guests. At least one person dedicated to bussing tables would speed things up a great deal. Having servers both bus and serve might save $10 or $15 an hour but slows everything down while guests stand around waiting for a clean table to become available. I wouldn't recommend making a special trip for breakfast here if not already staying in the hotel. read more

We went to the St. Regis for afternoon tea to celebrate Mother's Day and I was very impressed. The St. Regis tea blend was delicious. The scones were so good but the tea sandwiches were some of the best I've ever had. I wouldn't call them sandwiches really - they were super upscale. My favorite was the crab salad and the egg truffle croissant. Deserts were great as well. My sister is a vegan and we let them know prior to arrival and they were super accommodating and she got to eat a fruit salad for a starter, her own vegan vegetable bites, and a variety of vegan desserts. Also, the servers were very attentive and friendly. The hotel lobby is also beautiful and the tea is served in the atrium portion which is a great and unique experience. Since it is the st Regis, it is on the higher end price wise of afternoon tea but it great for a special occasion. Will go back if I'm looking to treat myself or a loved one! read more

For my daughter's 24th birthday she wanted to celebrate with a High Tea event for the family. After reading some reviews I settled on La Gourmandise and couldn't be more pleased with the choice. The staff communicated in advance multiple times, were flexible when we needed to add a person, and when the weather looked like it might not cooperate with he original outdoor seating selection, they moved us inside without a problem. The experience fully exceeded expectations and my daughter couldn't' have been more pleased. The hotel and lobby area are gorgeous and provided a perfect setting for the event. The food and tea selection and quality were exquisite and, most of all, the attention from the staff was excellent. Michaela hosted us and was simply amazing. She made everything feel so personalized, all the courses and food selections perfectly explained and we felt supremely pampered the whole time. She truly went above and beyond. I have been to several high tea experiences, including top ones in NYC and SF, and I can honestly say this High Tea experience was by far my overall favorite. The service was incredible, the view of the beach was beautiful and the quality of the profiteroles and canapés were top notch. The only nit-picking critique would be - online indicated a substantially lower price than the printed menu, and it prompted us to have to ask about it. The server handled it great and the printed menu ended up to be the typo. They validate valet parking which lowers the parking price. read more

It was a truly magical experience at La Gourmandise. My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this corner when we were looking for the restrooms in the lobby. We've had lunch here numerous times, but it was our first time at La Gourmandise. First of all, the location of this little spot is very peaceful. The decor, the furniture, and the ambiance is absolute perfection. The service is exceptional. Anna and Mayra were so sweet and accommodating in every way possible. Because we just had lunch by the pool, we stuck to desserts only. We ordered a few macaroons, bon bons, and an eclair. The desserts were just as delicious as they looked. The details on the eclairs is true art. During our visit, Anna informed us of the St. Regis tea party. So of course we had to come back the next day and try it. It was truly a delightful afternoon. We began with teas (a wide selection from India), then we moved on to the scones. The scones were so fluffy, served with butter and jelly. Next, came the sandwiches, each one was better then the next. The finale was unforgettable. The desserts are presented in a gorgeous birdcage. The $45 per person is worth every penny. If you would like to add champagne, it would be $65 per person. I can't wait to come back and do this all over again. It was one of the highlights from our trip. read more

As the first to review this pastry shop, allow me to say what a pleasure to have experienced dining here not once but twice. Hidden in the very back of the hotel on the lobby floor is this quiet comfortable environment that is not only beautiful but ever so comfortable. Their glass pastry counter is magnificent with a variety of in house made fresh daily, croissants of different flavors, macarons, eclairs, cakes, treats. It's absolutely marvelous. The staff Anna and Mayra are so wonderful and so sweet. All they want is for you to feel at home and enjoy. Upon finding this counter and sitting area, my wife and I decided to order a few sweets and some coffee to enjoy. Anna had recommended the tea time and that we should try it. We scheduled a reservation for the following day. They host tea time from 1-4pm daily. I cannot tell you how exquisite it was. The selections of the little canapés were simply scrumptious. The attention to detail with the presentation blew us away. All the imported teas from India blew us away as well. We tried saffron, white pearl, black vanilla, passion fruit was the last I believe. At the very end they hang by your table your very own birdcage filled with all of their sweets. If I lived in Florida, I would come back again and again. Nothing but the best at st Regis. read more

The food here was good. We had one orange juice, one omelette, side of bacon and a power bowl. All served on time and it was delicious. Surprised about the timeliness since when we arrived there was only one person in the front of the house. The poor rating is for the atmosphere. This restaurant is in the St Regis. One resident was irate about a pool problem and screamed at management the entire time we were eating. He was not eating, but chose this area to make a scene. Several employees talked with him, but not one thought about taking this man to another area. Everyone in the restaurant seemed uncomfortable. While we were settling the bill, another employee decided to give a play by play account of passing a kidney stone to the table next to us. So an $80 breakfast that was stressful and not at all what we expected. Try another breakfast place where you might find a more professional staff. read more

Amazing hidden gem! We found this place through yelp after we had eaten lunch and were craving desserts. It was a bit hard to find, as it is housed within a hotel, but staff helped guide us to it. It's a small little shop with lots of choices of tea and desserts. We got a chocolate cake, vanilla eclair, and two small caramels. We also got an iced jasmine green tea. Everything was lovely. They have a gorgeous inside seating area with comfy chairs, and a deck outside with a beautiful view of the ocean. It is a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion for this lovely experience. read more

I usually stay at the St. Regis when I'm in Miami and I've never had tea at La Gourmandise. My girlfriend walked by the tea room and her eyes lit up and I surprised her with high tea there the next day. We ordered all of the tea sandwiches - the lobster eclair, cucumber, and smoked salmon were our favorites. We ordered at least four desserts to try and they were all amazing and we shared a bottle of the Rosé Brut. Having tea here will now be a necessity every time we visit! We visited for afternoon tea which included the kids tea which I thought was a special touch. This area of St Regis is set up as a lounge and is beautiful. Overall the menu was as expected. Sandwiches were so so; the pastries were exceptional. Service was kind, but attentiveness was disappointing. I had to ask for and wait several minutes for anything I requested which included replacement of a few table items and napkins after my daughter had a spill; my champagne; the bill took 10 minutes to be returned after my card had been provided. Our server had introduced herself but they we also had two others deliver items and check in on our table. The lounge set up seemed to contribute to the poor service as it felt less like a dining area and a place one might bring their drink from the bar to chat more privately. Overall, I would say other options for tea might are more compelling as there wasn't a lot of magic of service here; and I have had much better experiences at other high end hotels. read more
