a happy birthday cake and an egg

This new little bakery replaced Snow Angel bingsoo. The layout has pretty much stayed the same, it's cute and clean and the owners are very friendly. We have been a couple times so far and tried a whole cake, and individual cakes. Everything looks very cute, and seems to be made freshly to order. The cakes are very Asian bakery inspired in look and taste - very pretty, lots of use of cream, and not too sweet which I love. My favourite item I've tried here is probably the lemon tart, it's cute and shaped like a lemon with yuzu flavouring, and a crisp biscuit base. The peach tart also looked like a peach, but was not very peach flavoured and only had a little chopped peach in the centre. We also tried the Crème Brûlée Chiffon Cake. It looked pretty, and was packaged nicely. However due to the design of the cake which is pretty much all cream, it did not make a ten minute drive and despite being constantly chilled it separated and slid into the box. It was pretty devastating bringing a $60 cake to dinner and it's smooshed! The taste was okay, wasn't very crème brûlée tasting and was mostly whipped cream. This was probably why the cake structure didn't hold. For the price and taste I probably won't be back, and don't want my heart broken again by a ruined cake!

A new patisserie in the Brentwood area The tarts are perfect for Instagram for sure This took over the space that used to be Snow Angel Cafe The soft opening started on Jan 13th, 2022 and Grand Opening is Sat Jan 22nd They don't have signage on the building or awning yet but their door has their cafe name La Fleur D'Oranger on it La Fleur D'Oranger is currently offering a few cake/tart selections There were around 3 tables set up but currently they only offer take out The mini tart pieces range from $10 - 11.50, a bit pricey but definitely worth a try Today I got the 100% Lemon tart and loved it The tart was so pretty -- looked like a lemon! It has a Yuzu ganache shell, fresh lemon center, lemon almond cream, fresh lemon paste and handmade tart It tasted tart and refreshing, but the other elements like the lemon almond cream and tart shell balanced it out They don't have a website at the moment, but you can get updates on their Instagram @lafleurdoranger_van Would totally come back to try the 100% Orange and Florence cake

Added a cake topper I bought myself

Ordered the small strawberry cake to celebrate a friend's engagement and I had no regrets!! The cake was beautifully constructed and tasted so delicious!! Received compliments on how aesthetic this cake looked and how good it tasted! Would definitely order again for a future occasion

I like their lattes and craved orange shaped cake from that coffeeshop tonight so decided to walk there since on Yelp says they are closing at 7pm on Saturdays . But I was fooled and want to warn u too . The door was closed before 6:30 pm and no phone number listed if this shop that's why I took two starts down

I ordered a set of cakes including the peach, orange, and mango flavours. The peach, orange, lemon, and lime flavours look very realistic like actual fruit. They were packaged in a cute transparent box with a ribbon which was perfect as I got it as a birthday gift!

Verdict: all of the buns were so tender with just the right amount of filling ratio to bun. What was so good about the cocktail buns was that since they were connected together during baking, the sides of these buns were really soft between each bun just as I remembered from my childhood. The lemon and custard fillings were not too sweet and the cracqaline pineapple crust didn't fall off the bun while you ate it. The pineapple custard bun is hard to find at most Chinese bakeries so I was thrilled to find it here. I have yet to try the Portuguese egg tart but any of my family's taste tests were to go by, it will not disappoint. The service was helpful and nice. The bakery interior is organized with offerings of steamed meat buns, deep fried and baked pastries, cookies and breads in showcases and on shelves. Traditional baked bread is less of a priority since this bakery caters to Chinese pastries and savouries. The faded exteriors signage is visible evidence of this business's longevity in the community. I look forward to coming back again the next time I'm here. Cash and debit only.

It was a huge hit with everyone! The 6 inch cake was $69 and I added a customized birthday message on chocolate for an extra $3 which was a nice personal touch. They also offer a gluten free option for an additional $10 which is great for accommodating different dietary needs. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to order online well in advance because their cakes sell out quickly. I can definitely see why. They're fantastic! I'll be ordering from Gary's Patisserie again for future celebrations.

Have seen Gary's fresh mango cakes all over IG and with my Dad's recent birthday I convinced my…read moresister to order one, instead of our usual mango cake from Saint Germaine bakery. Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

They were showing each other the flavors, and shapes, and designs. Sweet plus savory. Cutting them in half and sharing. We were so impressed with the staff at L'atelier. They know their stuff and their recommendations are top notch. The bakery itself is so cute and modern and fun. Unfortunately, this one was a bit disappointing. The interior was overly moist, the caramelized crust lacked the crispness I was hoping for, and the honeycomb structure wasn't very well developed. Overall, it was just average. We also ordered the Strawberry Pistachio Tart. The strawberries were fresh with a nice balance of sweetness, and there was a good amount of pistachio chunks. However, it lacked the layers of flavor that make a tart memorable. On the bright side, the coffee was excellent and easily my favorite part of the visit. I'd happily come back for a coffee, but I'd probably try different pastries next time.
