Egg tarts
M W.

If you want to have the worst customer service here it is. I've been here a few times and each time the lady behind the counter has the strongest hate vibe. You will be ignored until you ask for something. And then she will talk to you like you're her number one enemy. I bring in my cheeriest attitude because I'm a frontline worker and you never know what kind of day the other person may have had. But I don't come here for the service, but for convenience. But now I think I will even take the inconvenience of going elsewhere. Besides, the place is greasy and probably has mice having a heyday during the night. The stuff here is not even outstanding to merit a visit. I see reviews about their egg tarts or Portuguese tarts. But they're always sold out no matter how early I go. I think the egg tarts must be a myth or from fake reviews. The hate is so strong here you may leave with some of that energy. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review and this one is the lowest of the low.

Gingerbread man

This place reminds me of a medieval bakery from movies and storybooks. The gingerbread man was $1.85 and hard as a rock and tasted like stale dough. The other fried goods were quite dark implying the frying oil must be brown or that the goods must be overfried. The bakery itself is kinda run down and the items didn't look the freshest.

I don't like coming here. I used to live near by and my parents like to come at night time to pick up on the day made discounted rolls or buns etc. There cake are not good. The cake is a no go. Why I say that is because one time I saw the owner, cut off moldy parts off a cake and then cut it into smaller pieces trying to sell by slice instead of the whole cake. The cake was not even discounted. After what I saw, I decided not to come back ever.

Bad quality of food with the worst attitude in Vancouver that I have encountered. The bakery is also dirty as hell.

The food is amazing! Best pineapple barbecue buns I've ever had. Black sesame mochi balls were super delicious too.

This place sells undercooked CNY cakes and even after feedback and replacement, it was still terribly disappointing. Went in the garbage.

They don't fully stack up but are darn close! The bread to egg ratio is fab, the milk bread has a nice light sweetness to it, the filling is creamy and made with good kewpie mayo. The deduction for me was the crust, I love how in Tokyo the sandos are crustless! The freshness was there which was also nice as they package it properly. The real showstopper was the Yuzu Lemondade - so fresh ring and delish!! Would love to get it again in the summer. I also had a black sesame mochie but which was yummy too, great texture and nutty flavour. The store itself I prob would only take to go as it's quite cold and the seating is strange, it's like outdoor furniture inside. Not a ton of space either if there are a few people sitting already. The service was nice but definitely quite slow so pop in when you have the time.

Japanese bakeries just hit different and I didn't come across anything that I hated. The curry pan is absolutely the star with the crunchy outer texture and savory curry filling. The yuzu green onion cheese bun and pizza bun were delicious and I could've been equally happy with those alone. Meanwhile the kawaii animal breads are begging to be bought with how attractive they look - obviously toddler friendly. Highly recommend a stop here.

It was my first time visiting, so I asked the staff to introduce a few options before deciding on a small 4-inch cake. 4" Bayberry, Lychee & Crème Brûlée Cloud Chiffon Cake - $38.00 Fresh whipped cream blended with in-house bayberry jam made from whole seasonal fruit, combined with lychee flesh and their signature vanilla crème brûlée. They happened to have all the ingredients ready in-store, so I was able to pick it up just three hours later. The shop itself is quite small, with only about three tables for customers to sit and enjoy their cakes and coffee. They also offer individual cheesecakes, individual size chiffon cakes, muffins and cookies. The lychee chiffon cake was a big hit. The cream was light and not greasy at all, and the lychee flavor was very fragrant. There were even several pieces of real lychee fruit inside. The staff mentioned this was their most popular dessert cake. Highly recommended! I'd love to come back next time to try other desserts and their coffee. Definitely recommend this place.

The pastries are delicious and crafted so beautifully. I came here for hot chocolate festival and the flavours were spot on. A tad sweet but it's hot chocolate. I also tried their limited time sticky rice croissant which had all the umami flavours one could want! Texture of the croissant was crunchy, butter and full of flavour. Sadly, the sticky rice texture mixed with croissant was not the best. The service here is great. Staff are friendly. The only downside to this store is the way their line up system works. They have 2 store areas, connected by the till. It's a bit hard to pass through when there are people waiting in line to pay, waiting on line to order, etc. Just a bit of awkward spacing
