The bayberry jam and lychee were very refreshing and matched the chiffon and cream well. As mentioned above, the vanilla crème brûlée was hard like cold butter. It definitely added an extra texture to the cake, and made the cake more unique. I like La Fleur D'Oranger provides options for 4" cakes which are perfect for small families like mine!

They happened to have all the ingredients ready in-store, so I was able to pick it up just three hours later. The shop itself is quite small, with only about three tables for customers to sit and enjoy their cakes and coffee. They also offer individual cheesecakes, individual size chiffon cakes, muffins and cookies. The lychee chiffon cake was a big hit. The cream was light and not greasy at all, and the lychee flavor was very fragrant. There were even several pieces of real lychee fruit inside. The staff mentioned this was their most popular dessert cake. Highly recommended! I'd love to come back next time to try other desserts and their coffee. Definitely recommend this place.

Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

The staff also informed me that their chef change out the menu regularly based on occasion or season. So you won't be getting the same menu every time! Pricing: The set was $59 per person, plus tax and tip. For the quality they offer, I think it's absolutely worth it and comparable to hotel afternoon tea experiences I've had in the past. Customer Service: The staff was very attentive and friendly. They answered all of our questions and reviewed the menu with us to confirm our afternoon tea set. Once the tea set arrived, the staff explained each item and the suggested order for enjoying them. They also regularly refilled hot water in our teapot throughout the meal. Ambiance: Since it was Valentine's Day, the staff decorated the table with fresh rose petals. They even gave me a single rose stem at the end of the meal, which was such a sweet touch. The entire space is very clean, cute, and perfect for afternoon tea. Yandoux Patisserie is located in a building with a parking garage. Parking was about $1 per hour, which was very reasonable. The cakes seemed to be priced from $35-50, which I know is on a par with cake pricing in the city. They all looked beautiful. The small tarts looked to-die-for, but they were $9. That's a lot more than the tarts I've seen anywhere else, really, so I steered away from those. I got a croissant for $4 and a chai latte for $4.50. The croissant was ok. Not the fluffiest I've ever had, but okay. The chai latte was fantastic, one of the best I've had, really. And at the cash they had a plate of gold foiled-covered large homemade caramels, and I got two. Just had one just now and OMG, if you like caramel (as I do), you MUST try these. Truly unbelievably good! As I mentioned in my first paragraph, this place is quite tiny. Like, they had three small tables that seat two people each. (Maybe four, but I think three). So if you plan on meeting a friend for coffee here and dining inside, I'd recommend going at an off-time, for sure. (If it's nice out, there'd be some seating outside. But hey, winter is upon us).
