    Creme brûlée crepe cake
    Ricky C.

I've only tried their signature creme brûlée crepe cake and it's very light, creamy, and tasty! You could eat a lot of them without feeling too heavy. It is a bit expensive though, but you can tell that they put a lot of effort in the presentation. The packaging is quite luxurious if you order a whole cake. Worth it to try!

Earl Grey crepe cake ($10.50), coconut latte ($6.50), matcha ($12)

First time at L'otus and I had high expectations because of all the reviews and hype I've heard before. Went in the late afternoon and there was a constant stream of customers coming in and out for to-go orders, but also a few tables decided to sit in (including us). We ordered 2 different mille crepes, which is what they're known for, and also a coconut latte ($6.50). We opted for the matcha crepe cake ($12) and earl grey crepe cake ($10.50). I definitely thought the earl grey one was much tastier than the matcha -- strong tea taste, not too sweet, and just a good balance of cream and crepe. The matcha one was on the bitter end due to the matcha powder on the top of the cake. There wasn't that much depth to the taste and was quite one-dimensional in my opinion. I thought that the crepe itself was quite flavourless - not much sweetness, so I would assume that they didn't add any excess sugar to it. The coconut latte was quite bitter and any hint of coconut was overpowered by the coffee. To be honest, I thought that the texture was quite strange with the different layers. It tasted similar to Chinese cold thin noodles which are slippery and savoury. It wasn't something that I enjoyed too much but I appreciate the time and labour it takes to create each cake. I didn't think it was worth the amount of money I paid for the entire experience because it's quite pricy for a small piece of cake. I can see why a lot of people frequent this cafe but I think it's just not suited for my personal taste. Worth it probably to try it at least once to see what all the hype is about!

Such an amazing Japanese dessert shop, once you enter you will already be fascinated on the cakes displayed. I would say the matcha cakes and roll do stand out as their vibrantly attractive. We planned to taste some of their crepes but because its tax free for six slices so we got more, and cant help to try other such as the roll and cake. The Matcha Red bean Cheesecake was so good, the same as Tsujiri but still it has its own unique taste on it, a creamy matcha cheese cake, with the red bean based as well as the crust has its own adding effect on the taste. We love the Matcha Roll, it was fluffy and soft but more denser than other rolls, so good combination of the bread and creams even the sprinkled matcha powder adds more flavour. The chocolate roll is also so good not so sweet yet chocolaty, a mixed of crunches and creaminess. I would say the double layer cheese cake was also a favourite, I just love the creamy top layer and denser bottom layer. Its something I will buy again in my next visit. All the crepe cakes were delicious and would say more satisfying to eat for the price compared to Spiritea, the creme brûlée and tiramisu stand out among the crepe cakes we got during that day.

I recently took my Aunt for her Birthday dinner and decided to check it L'otus Cake Boutique for dessert. The layered crepe cakes are so delicious. It's a cute little shop you can go to enjoy dessert and tea. I bought some roll cake home to eat the next day. The crepe cakes are definitely a cake you must try.

As an avid dessert enthusiast, I would love to check it out any pastry shop in town! My standard for pastries are higher than normal, rarely to buy desserts or cakes at Chinese bakery shop. One of my friend recommended us on chat group about this new pastry store and hearing the hype about mille crepe. I definitely give it a try. L'otus cake boutique newly opened on Cambie Road, Richmond which across fire hall. Interior décor pretty simple and basic, but, it cleans and bright. They have few chairs and tables at the corner and you can sit down to enjoy a coffee and dessert. Due to soft opening, I found the menu a bit small but it's good enough for me to get few pieces to go! Mont Blanc - The chestnut cream vermicelli was pretty good (perfectly sweet) but it's a bit different than traditional Mont Blanc. It had strawberry inside and not much meringue. Matcha mille crepe - The green tea mille crepe was refreshing and good, not bitter or too sweet. It almost feels like an ice cream texture Matcha cheesecake... Blue Earl grey mille crepe - What is blue earl grey? It's blue cornflower and earl grey. I personally like tea infused desserts, this one quite impressing me. It is absolutely decadent and silky! Matcha cheesecake - It's not spectacular coz the cheesecake not soft and moist. Not my favorite. It should be 3.5 stars for L'otus cake. Coz the price little steeps at $8-8.75 a piece of crepe cake and $6.5 a mini cake. Well... I probably will go back if I'm craving for mille crepe or they have new desserts menu.

If you want first pick, go early to this place. Almost guaranteed they will be out of several items if you're planning on stopping by burning their later hours (after dinner). We tried the matcha, earl grey, and creme brulee crepe cake. Matcha was easily the best, earl grey had some flavour, and creme brulee didn't have much flavour at all. All cakes were nice and creamy in texture. I would like to try some of their other cakes and their gelato ice cream flight, but I will probably go to the Burnaby location midday since this location doesn't have the gelato.

Came here for their matcha crepe cake and ended up getting that plus the matcha cheese cake. Free Parking: there is a covered parkade with designated spots for customers Cake selection was great and lots of variety. The matcha crepe cake was delicious. Not too sweat or creamy. It was just right. Very light and tasty. Matcha cheesecake had a nice light cheesecake taste with a tint of matcha. The crust was also really good and complemented the entire cake well. Overall was quite happy and satisfied. Would certainly come back and try their mango or other cakes.

A nice spot to get some mille cake/ crepe cake style dessert. The place is nice and cozy and has a peaceful atmosphere. Ther place is not that large so you may be waiting for a table if you want to enjoy your dessert there. We got the mango and the earl grey crepe cake. The mango one tasted tangy good and was refreshing. It has fresh mango in it. The earl grey one was also delightful. Overall, a chill spot to grab a light dessert.

Recently opened....however no specialty layered cakes available. It's 230...they only open at noon. Ridiculous.

After seeing a flood of IG photos of these mille crepe cakes, I had to finally try them! I tried the matcha, earl grey and creme brûlée crepe cakes. Having fallen in love with the matcha Mille crepe from Lady M (originating from New York) I was hoping this place would feed my fix of one of my personal favourite desserts of all time. Sadly, I would have to say these desserts really disappointed me. If I had blind folded myself and ate them I would have thought it was a soggy piece of sponge cake (texture wise). Visually, the cakes look really nice and the presentation in the take out boxes are very cute. The store itself is nicely decorated (white, modern, clean aesthetic). The employees are very nice as well. The best flavor of the 3 that I tried was the earl grey (they did a good job of infusing the tea flavor). I did read a few IG reviews on the matcha flavour which commented on how it wasn't anything special-I agree. As many have mentioned there appears to be too much cream in between the layers, so you can't taste the crepe. I do appreciate the time and effort it takes one to make such a cake, but unfortunately this place doesn't compare to Lady M.

I paid a visit to L'otus with the hope of satisfying my craving for matcha mille crepe cake, and I was disappointed. While the cake had a smooth and light texture and a subtly sweet taste to my liking, it lacked the most important element: a distinguished matcha flavour. The matcha used was way too mild for my taste. For the drink, I chose apple ginger tea. It was delightfully light and refreshing, and paired well with creamy desserts. In general, the interior decor is bright and aesthetically pleasing with a warm and casual ambience. The menu has a good selection of cakes, coffee, and tea; but the prices are a bit on the high side. Will I be visiting again? Probably not unless I want to try some other flavours like its popular mango crepe cake.

I stopped by to buy some cake slices to take home. The crepe cakes were definitely the star and I highly recommend trying these cake slices before you venture on to the rolls and other desserts. Overall, I can taste the quality ingredients and flavours which made the price of these goodies worth it. Too bad it is only take out during COVID times for this location. I would have liked the opportunity to dine in and enjoy a slice of cake sooner than having to go home first.

A single cake is admittedly pricey but it's honestly so filling! And they taste amazing as well. We wanted the matcha one but because we went right when they opened, they said it wasn't ready yet and we would have to wait a bit of a while... not sure why they wouldn't have everything ready before opening (especially since they don't even have a very early opening time)... The place itself is quite nice and there is a lot of natural lighting! The service is lacking however, and I can imagine that during busy times, it would be even worse...

Dining in and paid tips but was told that you can only sit in "certain seats" despite the store being empty at the time. Cake is bland.

What I love most is their balance -- the cakes are not overly sweet, yet still rich, creamy, and full of flavour. The tiramisu is smooth and light with just the right coffee kick, while the cheesecake is velvety, indulgent, and melts in your mouth without feeling heavy. Perfect if you enjoy desserts that feel elevated and thoughtfully made, not sugar bombs. Definitely a go-to spot when I want cake that tastes as good as it looks. Reservation: I made a reservation a few days in advance for afternoon tea. The booking process is available on their website and was very easy to navigate. Food: It was also Chinese New Year, so their afternoon tea featured some CNY-inspired savory items presented in a bamboo steamer, along with a yuan bao-shaped dessert. Both the savory and sweet selections were delicious and beautifully presented. I've compared Yandoux Patisserie with a few other afternoon tea menus, and I found that they offer more thoughtfully designed, higher-quality items such as beef tartare, salmon oshi, and truffle mushroom crostini. I especially liked that they only serve one scone, so you're not too stuffed to fully enjoy the sweet items. The staff also informed me that their chef change out the menu regularly based on occasion or season. So you won't be getting the same menu every time! Pricing: The set was $59 per person, plus tax and tip. For the quality they offer, I think it's absolutely worth it and comparable to hotel afternoon tea experiences I've had in the past. Customer Service: The staff was very attentive and friendly. They answered all of our questions and reviewed the menu with us to confirm our afternoon tea set. Once the tea set arrived, the staff explained each item and the suggested order for enjoying them. They also regularly refilled hot water in our teapot throughout the meal. Ambiance: Since it was Valentine's Day, the staff decorated the table with fresh rose petals. They even gave me a single rose stem at the end of the meal, which was such a sweet touch. The entire space is very clean, cute, and perfect for afternoon tea. Yandoux Patisserie is located in a building with a parking garage. Parking was about $1 per hour, which was very reasonable.
