He quickly troubleshot the problem with the compressor and coil and fixed it that same day, saving all of my food from spoiling. Mike has also repaired my ice cream cabinet and freezer in the past, and at this point I literally have him on speed dial. He has saved me on numerous occasions. His speedy response time and technical know-how are unmatched. If you run a donut shop or any food business, Mike is the guy you want. I called Mr. Fixit based on a recommendation from a neighbor to look at a 5 year old Samsung oven that was not working. I'm rating this 2 stars based on the complete and utter lack of communication with the owner. He sent a contractor named Greg who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. He did not have an igniter with him and said he could not get it until the following day. He would not order the igniter unless I fronted $300 to the company owner. I did and he returned the following day to complete the repair. As far as I'm concerned Greg did the job. I told Greg that I needed an invoice to send to a warranty company. He said that Nathan (the owner) would send one shortly. When I didn't get one after 48 hours I called Nathan and left a message. Another 48 hours went by and I left another message. The following day I called 3 more times and left 3 more messages. I finally got an "invoice" a week later. The "invoice" was as a photo of an invoice showing the total paid for parts and labor. There was no breakdown of parts or cost. I called again asking him to revise the invoice per the warranty company requirements. This lead to another round of messages which were never returned. I never received an original paper invoice and the photo version was barely visible. I cannot recommend this business. read more

My father contacted LA FiXiT May 15 because we needed our Ice Machine fixed due to it not producing any Ice. They came next day to assess the issue and the Gentleman that came to look at the freezer said that one of the parts wasn't working, and he would have to order the part which would take about a week but first he needed a $250 dollar deposit. He then proceeded to write down my mother's debit card number so he can charge the deposit, something that made us very uncomfortable to begin with. They told us they would call us once the part came in, almost a week and a half went by and no word on whether the part had arrived. My father ended up calling them to see if had arrived and they said that it had in fact and they can come the next day to fix it. Why did it take my dad to call them about the part for them to come fix it??? Any way then the guy came the next day to fix it and he said to give it 24 hours for the ice machine to start producing ice, that by the next morning we should have Ice. Next morning rolls around and what do you know, there's no ice! So my dad calls back and sets up another visit and this happened 2 more times, at the last visit the guy "inspects" and says that it turns out that it's a sensor that isn't working and he needs to order it. It's been almost 3 weeks since he said that and we have yet to receive any phone calls and my dad has tried to call and his call has been sent straight to voicemail and the guy who tried to "fix" the ice machine blocked my dads phone number. This is unacceptable, the entire thing cost my dad $569 dollars and now you guys are basically ignoring my dad, the ice machine still doesn't work and you're basically running away with his money? My father works hard for his money and for this to be the outcome is very disappointing! This isn't a way to do business! I'm really not sure what's happened here. Initially the appointment was set promptly for someone to come and repair our dryer. The person didn't show up because they had a personal emergency and came the next day. He seemed knowledgeable and professional, and told me it would take 1 business day to get the parts. Now it's 3 weeks later and after calling several times to follow up about when the repairs would be completed, my calls are now sent to voicemail. I don't know why their communication has broken down, and I am left to write this review as a "buyer beware." Stay far away. I called them months ago to get my dryer fixed. I know the issue with the dryer & my duct so I asked if they could do the service that I needed, but when Constantine came he said no. He took apart the dryer and put it back together and got me an exhaust box. He had to come back to fix a part and he never came back. He also said he would call me before charging me, but lied. I spoke to Mason about this and he said he would call me back and never did. I spent over $500, my dryer still does not work, and I want my money back. Stay away from this company. read more

Thank you, Mike and the whole LA Fix it team. I feel bad that I have not written a review sooner. I started using them 4 years ago when we purchased our first home. Within 3 weeks our Subzero fridge was on the fritz. It was not cooling enough and finally, one day just stopped cooling. I knew I shouldn't have put it off. I called and they sent a tech over by mid-afternoon. He was super helpful, gave a great quote to fix the fridge, explained the issue, and after fixing it scheduled maintenance 2x a year. I have yet to have any problems since being consistent with that maintenance. Well, next my dad's AC unit stopped working in the middle of summer in San Fernando Valley. They sent a tech the following day and he was able to get the problem resolved in 30 min at a much lower rate than the guy who installed it had quoted my dad. It's scary when your disabled parent has issues, I cant tell you how grateful I am to have technicians I trust to go to his home when I can't be there. In the 4 years since, I have called them to fix my Wolf range, a wine cellar at my bosses house, my Bertazzoni cooktop, the AC unit, and my Fisher and Paykel washer. Just booked an appt for my Bosch dishwasher that decided to stop draining after all of the Thanksgiving dishes were loaded I know, issues right?! I trust these guys. They are honest, give me great prices and let me know if something needs to be replaced rather than dumping more money into it. Oh, and they call when they are on their way which is super helpful. One star is being generous. I called and spoke to Nathan to schedule an appointment for a repairman to come out to our temple. He said someone would be out the next day between 12:00 and 4:00 and that he or someone would call me half and hour prior to their arrival. At 3:15 the next day, I called the office and spoke to Nathan again asking if anyone would be coming. He said he would find out the ETA and call back. 45 mins later, I called since he never called back. Guess what....no one answered the phone and it went to voice message. so our compressor went out for our walk in commercial fridge at my restaurant and we needed someone to come and fix it fast, so i stumbled upon la fixit, so i decided to give them a call and Mike came straight over to my restaurant in a matter of an hour and fixed our compressor to our walk in, When it comes to customer service, he really knows what he is doing and he give you honest quotes and doesnt cut corners in anything he does. He even dropped by a week later because he was in the neighborhood to check to see how the compressor was doing and to tell you the truth ive been in this business for 15 years and no one does that. Barely looked at it, said he knew what the problem was and would call us in two days about parts, and immediately requested his $59 for a visit. It felt shady right away - not because of the fee, which we knew we had to pay - but because it was clear that was all he was there for. Never to be heard from again.
