Needed to hit the gym while in town for work. Saw this knw close to where I was staying and hit it up. As soon as I walked in I was given a 3 day pass for a guest great. Place was decently packed. The other reason I wanted to hit the gym was the sauna. Well that was null and void walked into the dressing room and saw the sauna was out of order REALLY! Why is it that every LA Fitness has so.wthimh wrong and they dont fux it immediately. People are paying for the amenities thats a major amenity. Anyway went to the tread mill to warm up low and behold busted also the hell. Got on did my warm up. I will give it to the staff looks like they are keeping g it clean no hair balls or dust bunnies on the floor. I come in the mornings and love it. If you're looking for a mature gym where everyone is a grown professional and doesn't have to set up a tripod and video their workouts this is the gym! Paid for a guess past. Didn't read the fine print that your host had to be present even if they were not able to work out due to an injury. Overcrowded. They have signs on the exercise equipment saying maintenance needed. Most have taken over a month to fix. This review is almost a copy paste of my one for another location. Y'all need a Fransisco from 290/barker in all of your locations. The gym just felt dirty. They didn't have a smoothie place on site, but a super good one a few doors down. Gym needs maintenance, and it's a very new location. So I am perplexed why a lot of the machines are down, beat up as bad as they are. If you want just iron and no cable machines then you can have it at iron fitness. It has rusty plates etc and it fits the gym. This is a signature club and needs to step up it's game. That being said they also got on this stupid matrix kick and have garbage machines for cardio. Hoist? Yep garbage and also here too. Y'all need life fitness, or prime fitness machines in your lives. The lady with glasses that works the front desk is rude and will not listen to anything you say. The gym is clean and typical overcrowding. But I will not be back because of the front desk lady, I tried to sign up for the towel service and she expected me to pay $120 for 1 year instead of $10 a month. Then my insurance had a glitch and I tried to explain it to her, but she refused to listen to anything I said. My son is on the same account and signed in no problem, but she red flagged me and would not let me in. When I tried to explain the situation, she kept interrupting me and said her computer is right, I am wrong. I told her I don't like her and I will not be back. I signed up for this Signature location a couple of years ago and was impressed with the cleanliness of the gym. There were ALWAYS people cleaning the gym, wiping down equipment, mop sweeping, etc. Here in the last 6 months it has started to look worn as in split equipment pads and broken stair steppers for months. There is typically hair around the cardio equipment. I will say the ladies locker room is always clean and they have hair dryers which is a nice touch. I would like this gym to get back in the level they were when they opened and I was happy to pay the extra $10/month to work out at a Signature club. read more

Overcrowded and run down. Staff is really nice but don't get things fixed when asked in a timely manner (or ever). For the past month 3 stair steppers out of 6 are broken, all of the attachments on the cable machines are frayed or broken or missing, the pads on the leg machines are all ripped, multiple treadmills "scheduled for repair", rower straps are broken, etc etc. If there was another gym in the area I'd switch! read more

I love it here, that it's a clean gym with a pool, cardio machines, and all the weights I need for strength training. The front desk lady was sweet- she remembered me, offered me towels for my swim workouts, and asked how my training is going. Highly recommend. The only negative is Mark, the cycling instructor. He is passive aggressive, obnoxious, and will call out cyclists in front of the class. read more

The place was normal busy for the time but still was able to get thru my workout with no interruption. All machines I used were functioning, that's a big plus. I've come here 3 times for trial and I wasn't impressed. $35 monthly and $100 initiation plus $50 one time annually for a small gym with limited machines and equipment. Now truth be told they have everything you need for the goals you're trying to meet. That's if the machines are accessible and they're not packed. But for the amount they have to offer, it's not worth what they're asking. A few broken machines make a big difference considering you dont have many to work with. The LA fitness on 45 has way more space and more to offer and fitness connection down the street gives you the best bang for your buck. read more

The gym is very nice, great equipment, clean, and fairly nice people working there. I love the HIIT class. However, we had some very underhanded dealings with the personal training department and the head of personal training Adam. Essentially, we upgraded our memberships from the regular club to here, including personal training. My father had a previous personal training membership with 41 sessions remaining because he had to discontinue attending due to a surgery. He came here to upgrade and instead of doing so, Adam cancelled his previous account and had him sign a new contract. He did not disclose that doing so would cause the 41 sessions to be gone. He offered my father a "discount" on the per session price as a result; however, in terms of payment, my father lost over 15 sessions worth of value. When we went to Adam to talk to him about this and see what could be done, he was very condescending. He treated me like I wasn't capable of doing the math and explained there was no other option. (I know this isn't true because I had already upgraded in a similar manner at LA Fitness in another state.) when I got upset because we lost a lot of money's worth of value and my father ended up without session for two weeks until his next billing cycle, Adam told me I should leave the facility if I was going to be rude instead of finding ways to help. I would also say that Adam treated me differently than he did my father, and he tried to shut me down for getting frustrated. Microaggressions everywhere. He needs to go to sexual harassment and microaggression training. My father will go to a different La Fitness location in town now that he is locked into a new contract due to Adam. Don't go to this gym. Great equipment, not great classes but got the job done. However, every time I tried to cancel (I was moving) they would refer me to their operations manager who was "out" when I tried to contact him (8-5 during business hours) after 5 attempts I finally get who I was told was him on the phone in 6/2020 and he canceled my membership. Great. Except not great because today 2/6/2021 they charged me randomly and I assumed it to be a huge mistake but when I called I was told my account was frozen, not canceled. So that's hugely illegal. My husband went through the same BS yet somehow his actually got canceled. Be warned, while this place does have an adequate amount of weights, and is relatively nice (although not as nice as you would expect a signature club to be), they WILL lock you into a contract, they WILL charge you extra fees when you're not prepared or aware of them, and to top it all off, they will make it as difficult as they can for you to cancel your membership should you choose to get one here. I had to cancel my membership today, and I have never had my time more deliberately wasted by a gym or any business for that matter. My son got hand, foot, and mouth from the kids play gym. He was only there for two days!!! I'm absolutely disgusted by this. This review is regarding the location on I 45 at Cypresswood in Spring Texas. They redid the interior and took out many of the workout machines, so now there is always a line to use the few machines that are left. The renovation is a big fail!! They put in a big old turf so you've got a lot of high school students in there flipping tires and running drills. I almost got ran over the other day. If you're an older person you probably want to steer clear of this location. They should have left the club the way it was and if they wanted to put in a workout turf, expanded the rental space!!! read more

Fantastic gym. I joined before it actually opened. Since the doors opened, I have rarely seen an issue. If a piece of equipment goes down, they immediately mark it out of service and have it repaired in a fairly short time frame. The staff is friendly, the facility is well maintained and clean, and the class selection has something for everyone. Reference COVID-19: they have gone above and beyond since reopening. The cleaning crew is constantly wiping down the equipment (including dumbbells and plates), temperatures are taken upon entry and there is now contactless check-in. I could not be happier, and as someone who goes 6 days a week, I could not ask for more. read more

Horrible management and personal training. Alex mislead me on personal training. I immediately let him know that I was not happy. I was never told I could cancel within 3 days and I was never furnished a copy of the personal training contract. I was furious that I was mislead and made it known to Alex immediately. Shady dealings. Adam the manager then gets involved and apologized over and over. Why would you have to apologize if you didn't do something wrong? Also very inappropriate questions by Alex to my 16 year old niece. I wouldn't recommend this place. You get no where with management. I haven't stepped into the facility since I was mislead on the personal training. Stay away from the unprofessional management. I went in to merely sign up for a regular membership. Do not get personal training. The contracts aren't visible until after you sign. Management says you have 10 day to cancel but then when you try to cancel they oh no it was never 10 days it was 3. I want to start off my review stating the facility, location and amenities are great but the 1 star review is based on how a manager acted when I was discussing my frustrations. I am currently a member of a local HIIT gym where I was also doing personal training over the past 4 months and I was only looking at switching because my current gym's business model did not have the option work work out on your own. It is only either HIIT classes or personal training. I also want to say my personal trainer I have at LA Fitness seems to good (only done two sessions so far) and I have no issues with her. Previous Gym membership: Unlimited HIIT month to month $160/month 50 minute personal strength training session $80-100/session Paid on average $800/month with 8 PT sessions and unlimited HIIT Non-contract What I interpreted I was signing up for based on sales person/manager: 4 X 50 minute personal training sessions a month ($75 a session all other aspects included in 4 session price) Unlimited HIIT Gym access $300/month 6 month contract (shortest contract option shown for personal training packages) What I received: 4 X 25 minute personal training sessions a month ($75 a session all other aspects included in 4 session price) Unlimited HIIT Gym access $300/month 6 month contract (shortest contract option shown for personal training packages) So you can see what I interpreted based on the sales person (who also claims to be a manager) vs what I received was not congruent and if I would have known this I would have just signed up for the $55/month membership. So yes at this part of this story I am going to fully admit I made an assumption based on the conversations we had that the personal training sessions would be the same length. And I am also fully aware I was looking at cutting training sessions in half is a major factor in the drastic drop in price. Again this review is based on a manager's actions not because I am stuck with $300/month for 6 months. Today is when I learned I misinterpreted the terms of the contract and I sent a text to the person I signed up with asked for clarity, which he gave me a call once he arrived at work. This was not a pleasant conversation and by no means was he professional, this is also when I learned he was a gym manager. Below is an exert from the conversation. Me: "When we talked a week and a half ago I know I was clear that I was doing personal training twice a week for one hour and it was one hour of strength training. I also said in addition to personal training I was taking HIIT classes as my form of cardio. So when you described the what a session was like at LA as 5 minutes of warm up 25 minutes of strength and 20 minutes of burnout it sounded like a 50 minute session to me." Manager: "You even admit I said 5 minutes of warm up 25 minutes of strength and 20 minutes of cardio, I was NOT misleading" Me: "I was explicitly clear that my current program was 50 minutes of strength and I was doing HIIT for cardio. The way you described everything made it appear it was a 50 minute training session" Manager: "You're starting to make me angry because you're acting like this is politics. You're confusing facts with opinions and now you're mad because your opinion was wrong and you don't like the facts" Needless to say I am stuck with a remaining balance of ~$1500 and there was zero willingness to budge. I asked if it was possible to stop the personal training and just continue with the gym membership (I would go back to my old gym just for PT) and was told we could if I paid off 50% of the remaining balance as a cancelation fee. This is not an ok way to talk with a customer. Sadly this is the only full service gym in close proximity until the YMCA opens in 2022. The membership has a high price but they have great equipment and the facilities have sauna, pool, and during this COVI-19 I noticed they follow the safety regulations and make sure everyone is safe, at least I feel safe there. The group classes are fun specially the zumba classes and I have been take all of them on different schedules to check all the instructors and have enjoyed two instructors: Pamela and Luzangela, these zumba instructors stick to the zumba format and believe me, I know that. The other instructors are more aerobic instead of zumba. When I started my membership they offered me the HIIT classes but they are very pricey and the personal training is basic, expensive and average. read more
