This studio and its owner, Hanif, are fantastic. I have been attending classes for more than a year, and enthusiastically recommend them for people of all ages and abilities. I am in my late 50s and had a smattering of yoga experience through previous classes and YouTube videos, but Hanif's approach and attention to individual needs and abilities have made Rising Hearts my yoga home, and I am so grateful for it. Rising Hearts Yoga Studio is a great place for your yoga practice no matter what level you are at. I have been practicing yoga for 30 years and I have never had a better teacher. My husband who was a beginner also found the classes very beneficial. First and foremost the class is very safe. The instructor takes great precautions to keep your back, knees or shoulders from getting injured. He also offers modifications if you are struggling with any of the poses. His instructions are very detailed therefore easy to follow. At the end of the class there is a short meditation time and then he always shares an enlightening quote. The classes are a little over an hour and there is a mix of all ages in the classes. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive. You can attend classes in the studio or you can attend class via Zoom. My husband who was beginner used to have pain in his back and shoulders. He had to have massages to stay pain free. During COVID that was not possible but because the classes were on Zoom He began to practice yoga more frequently and now he no longer needs to have massages. If you ever thought about starting to practice yoga or you want an excellent instructor who has your best interests at heart try this place. read more

Like so many, I had "thought" about trying yoga but knew I was never in my life known as an athlete or flexible. Approaching my mid-50's, aches and pains were interfering with life. After just a few weeks of the beginners class, with Hanif patiently explaining, watching and responding to any and all of my questions, I was noticing a positive difference. As a cancer survivor, I've had my fair share of experiences with techniques designed to help you cope with pain or forget your circumstances, but none of them have "worked" because they were just that, techniques. I have taken yoga classes from Hanif for approximately 15 years. I never thought I could develop such a deep and abiding commitment to this practice, this studio and especially, Rising Heart's owner and teacher, Hanif. After moving from the Spring area three years ago to downtown Houston, I continue to drive back weekly to take classes from Hanif. Although I looked, I was never able to find a studio in my area that was comparable to Rising Hearts. It is good for my body, my mind and my spirit. Completely in tune with and aware of each student's physical limitations, Hanif guides you individually to practice yoga in a safe way, preventing injuries many other yoga instructors seem to not even be aware that they are perpetuating.
