The building is crap and the staff are lazy and rude. There were buckets catching water all over the building.

Needs improved water pressure in showers. No toilet paper in some stalls in men's bathroom. Pool was closed. Jacuzzi was closed. Front desk staff need to be more welcoming and attentive. The bathroom and locker room need more and continuous attention by custodial staff. read more

Pool closed until further notice, the locker rooms are so hot that you end up soaked through with sweat by the time you get dressed after your shower (unless of course you get the opportunity to use one of the two box fans that everyone has to fight over), the ceilings are leaking, half the lockers are literally falling apart from water damage and have had big black plastic totes on top of them to catch the water for at least a month now. Labor day . Pool closed Jacuzzi closed. Sauna has been closed for a year. Manager very snippy. If you like the bikes and weights, you'll be fine. If you like to get wet, good luck. Also, it much much cleaner around the pool and locker room a year ago. They had a fellow who limped and buffed and mopped all the time. Hard worker and friendly fellow. I understand they let him go. I guess he was too good for the company. I had a situation with with the thin bossy gal, who is the Mgr. Told me to take my bag off the chair by the pool. I was at the gym earlier today and two other men (white men) were in there working out, one older and another younger. The older one took his shirt off and began to flex in the mirror. An off-the-clock staff member proceeded to ask him to put his shirt on, to which the older man declined because he "didn't know" the person asking him to put his shirt on. After walking away the younger man spoke out and stated "I don't know why these nig**rs always have to have a problem with something." Immediately I was taken back by this comment because not only am I black but also was surprised at the escalation of the situation that just occurred. After a few moments, an on-the-clock employee returned and asked the man to put his shirt on, the man still combative began to put his shirt on however, the other one asked the employee (who was not white) "why do you nig**rs have a problem with everything?!" At this point, the employee simply asked the man to follow gym guidelines and leave his shirt on. The man making racists comments was NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACTIONS. After stepping away the men were still allowed to workout. Being only a few feet from this altercation I was visibly disturbed and upset, because they did not stop making racist comments. The man continued to make comments like "these nig**rs have something coming" and "I don't know why these nig**s keep looking at me!" He was now turning his attention towards me since I was in the vicinity. After about a minute or so, they proceeded to move to the other side of the gym where the men kept making eye contact with me and mumbling under their breath. I knew exactly what he was saying. Eventually the men left and I went to the front counter to speak to the manager concerning their behavior. Paul (the manager at the time) told me that they would be putting a note on the man's account and will allow operations to handle his termination due to the man's alleged "disability." Paul stated that the men were father and son and the father expressed that his son was on the "spectrum." However, Paul could not locate his account at the time and could not reassure me that the man was indeed disabled or on the spectrum. That should not matter, however, he did state to me that I would be receiving a phone call from the operations manager in the next few days concerning this matter. I am dissatisfied with the way this situation was handled by all parties. Disability or not, the man should have been asked to leave the premises to avoid further altercations with employees or patrons. There was no de-escalation of any kind that occurred and the man was left to harass and create an uncomfortable environment for other gym members. This is extremely disheartening as I frequently go to that gym and have never experienced anything like I did today. Staff members need to do a better job at de-escalation and protect gym members from this kind of harassment. I hope that this quickly gets rectified and I hope no one else has to experience what I had to experience. read more

Customer service is what gave this 1 star. Both the front desk guy and the lady at the customer desks were extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. We didn't catch names, but the mixed girl at the customer desks had a horrible attitude when we were trying to sign up for a membership and the dark skin man with earrings at the front desk was talking on his AirPods slouched in his rollie chair while we were talking to him. As well as an attitude. I hope management sees this review because they give the same apathetic demeanor to other members. Neither seemed like they wanted to be there, and couldn't care less about their members. We'll not be returning to this location ever. read more

I was a member at this gym for a couple of years. But I canceled because, when I was swimming in the pool I witnessed a old white man tell a woman he was gonna shoot and kill her if she don't get off his side of the pool the woman got so scared she started to cry and left. Then I was on the same side and was swimming back and forth but I was too close to him because I heard that and I over hear him talking to a black man if she don't get off my side of the pool I'm gonna shoot her too. I got out of the pool told the man and woman at the front desk and they went and got him told him to get out said his membership was revoked after threatening two members. My husband wanted me to call the police but I was told by the woman that she didn't think it was that serious he's a old man. So I canceled my membership. This was after they had that man run up in and out the gym trying to kill people. Never felt safe after my experience. read more

Their prices are ridiculous.. 100s of dollars, hidden annual fees, skyrocket initiation fee and all you get is hot, no AC gyms, packed rooms, UNSANITARY bathrooms and no one keeping up with cleaning. All they want is your money.. I will be going elsewhere. Thanks for nothing. I am not surprised this Gym has such low ratings when they have managers like Matthew with such poor customer service. My fiancé has been a member of LA for 10 years from another state and after I tried to attend a class (guest pass JUST expired), I was turned away with excuses and could not attend a class I was looking forward to trying. All I got was a "No." I explained that I work and could not make it in earlier and after three "No's", I gave up. It's been about two years since I've been to this gym because I relocated but, since the shut down allowed me to move back to the area, I stopped in on Monday to reinstate my account and I have to say Matt is THE BEST!! His Customer Service skills and professionalism are beyond my expectations and he's consistent. Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pamela! Her Zumba class is super good. It's a challenging but fun dance class that always has the latest music and moves. Work it guys!! read more

I came here because I was out of town on a work trip. The equipment is average at best. Dumbbells were all over the place. There were FIVE gym bros working out without shirts on...and not together. Five separate individuals working out shirtless. It solidified my rational for not joining a chain gym. It was more like a junior high locker room. Terrible. read more

My two stars, given grudgingly, are for the fact that the place is pretty clean and there is a lot of decent equipment. What it has in equipment, it apparently lacks in staffing. After a number of visits just trying to get our purchased membership up and running (where I was told multiple times to "come back later" when staff members couldn't figure it out, ) we were already feeling frustrated. Turns out, there was nothing to do except give me my card, so I wasted quite a bit of time not being able to work out waiting for a staff member who knew what they were doing. But, I wanted to put that behind me and get with a personal trainer. They had us meet with Derrick, who was very nice and helpful. He took me through the process of getting set up and I discussed my specific goals and concerns (I have RA) with him. I received a confirmation for my appointment and arrived at the scheduled time. When I checked in I was told "oh, he's not here today, so we're rescheduling his appointments." You mean, you are rescheduling them when people arrive? A phone call would have been great, since I rushed to arrive as scheduled and called in a staff member to handle a work issue of my own. The person who informed me that there was no one there for my appointment didn't apologize, didn't offer to reschedule, nothing. About five minutes later, after I had gone ahead and started working out to try to salvage the day, Derrick call me and left a message to see if I could meet him instead at the new location he was apparently moved to (with again, no mention of the fact that he had missed my appointment time and that might have been irritating to me). I signed up at this location because it's convenient to me, but honestly, I could have made the other location work had I known about it sometime before 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin. He didnt sound particular apologetic either and basically explained that he didn't have access to his schedule at the new location. It's hard enough to get motivated to work out, to start a training schedule, and in my case, to work through anxiety of some injuries without having your trainer not show up, and no one cares. Mistakes happen but it was clear it wasn't even remotely concerning to anyone involved that it happened. I'll be looking for a new gym and trainer where someone might consider my time as valuable as my money. read more

Windows busted on vehicles in their parking lot .. me and my girlfriend went in to workout Sat at 330 in the afternoon only to walkout to find both our vehicles were broken into with busted Windows... I drive past 3-4 gyms to come here. It's clean and big. Tons of equip to choose from. The 2nd floor has all the cardio stuff and has been upgraded with some high tech equip. It's not too busy in mornings/afternoon when I come. The atmosphere is good. Not a ton of meatheads screening. Diverse demographics from teens to geriatric. They have something for everyone. Everyone is super friendly and the trainers, from I what I see actually know what their doing/talking about, which is more than I can say about some other gyms. I haven't tried the classes but they always have a lot of people in there so they must be good! Definitely worth the drive for me. Others didn't make the cut...and I tried them all out. If you live in woodlands or spring area, you should come here to workout. read more

So, I am in the market for a gym. I have visited a few but they all seem to be too far, too ghetto or both! This LA Fitness is only 10 minutes from my place so it is my first choice. I really gave them two stars because I hate the tactics they use to negotiate your membership. I negotiated and negotiated and ended up paying $30 per month. The only good thing is that I am not paying an initiation fee. I researched the gym and found a million complaints about a million things, but at the end of the day I don't care about the people running the gym, I only care about the fact that I want to get back in shape (and that they have a heated pool!). The gym itself is very nice and clean. Pretty much like any other LA Fitness you may have visited. The locker rooms are very nice and they have a sauna and hot tub, which I really love! If that guy wouldn't have been acting like a used car salesman, getting up and leaving and telling me what I needed rather than listening to what I wanted, I would have joined it sooner. I actually walked away and after doing more research decided to go ahead and do it. I heard it's a hassle trying to cancel. I have a month to month so I don't really care. What I learned from all the research is that when I am ready to cancel my membership I MUST send the letter certified mail!! read more

This gym is ok. The staff is very manipulative and not upfront when it comes to contracts and agreements for personal training. Let's just say 4 grand later I learned my lessons. They have a new personal training staff however the staff I was aquatinted with definitely were flirts and pursued other things outside of training with me. The males that work there are assholes. The way you hear them degrade women is pathetic. I'm not one of those crazy women feminists or anything but I figured some people had more sense than that. With all this money we pay for personal training.. This equipment can be updated. Some machines are rusty and squeaky. Try to avoid coming at night where young high school kids socialize with each other. You will easy see fast girls with WAY too much makeup practically asking to be ------ by their male "friends" You will definitely be sized up by certain groups of people who think they are better than everyone. Best advice is to keep your headphones on and focus on your without. Pomilla is a great trainer and passionate about transforming people. Great work. 2 years of having a membership and i have just about had it with this place. The management has changed drastically and is not good at all. We have gotten denied the entrance to kids club because they are being cheap and don't want to hire an extra person for the kids club. All the sudden it's an issue when for months they have over 40 kids with 1 person and i would constantly complain and nothing would be done. I don't understand why they don't want to hire an extra help if they also closed down kids club in the mornings ever since they remolded!! Management here is a joke and i will be calling corporate and whoever is above them until i get a refund for the month after being denied my amenity that i pay extra for !!! read more

This gym opened several years ago (maybe 7yrs ago). Since it's located near my home, I always thought about checking it out and possibly joining since it looked nice and big from the outside. A couple of months ago, I finally decided to give them a try. I bought a four month membership. This is a typical gym with many machines and no shortage of people that overdo it with their workouts. After trying some of the cardio machines for a couple of weeks, I realized that they really don't do a good job of inspecting and maintaining them. Many of the Elliptical machine setting are so screwed up that you can't even set up your proffered time. In many cases, the machines will limit you to only 10 minutes, even though the exact same machine next to you will let you set it to up to 60 minutes. Another machine that I often use (StairMaster) has been broken for over a week and the other 3 are usually always being used when I get there. :( My other complaint is that their weight scale is not working properly. I told one of the employees once but nothing was done. My other big complaint when comparing this gym to others Ive been to in the past (Downtown YMCA); I NEVER see the employees cleaning the machines. Also, I often see people leave the machines full of sweat. So with all of these complaints, why did I still give this place 3 stars. The main reason is because of the Cycle Class instructed by Lynette. Lynette does an excellent job of motivating the class to push themselves. Although you will work out so hard and need lots of water and a big towel, Lynette makes this class so fun that the hour flies by in no time. If I could review this cycle class on its own, I would give it 5 Stars. read more

I've been a member of this LA Fitness for 2 years. I'm mostly happy with the gym but i'll share some of my personal disappointments. During the last week of May 2018, a member was attacked by several non-members after a simple basketball debate. In October 2017 I witnessed a non-member push a member in the face out of frustration. The member informed the employees at the front desk of the situation but the situation wasn't taken as seriously as it should've been. Members should be safe and feel safe when coming to exercise. The facility is nice. There are plenty of stations to get a good workout. Of course it's congested between 4pm and 7pm like any other gym. I visit in the early morning hours when it's basically empty to avoid the crowd. Saturday morning is a popular basketball time for those who enjoy playing. Broken machines will hamper your ability to workout. The elliptical machines either won't turn on, won't stay on or simply won't work correctly. Also, the at machines on the side are virtually unusable and stay empty. They are impossible to lift, even had my really fit friend try and he was unable to work either. I'm honestly surprised by such bad reviews on here. I've been going to this gym for a couple of weeks already. The gym is pretty big and has lots of good equipment. The facilities are clean. I usually do my daily work outs in the mornings at 6am and the place is pretty empty so I never have to wait for any machine. I've yet to see a broken down treadmill or elliptical machine. I go the gym in the evenings for the group classes or a swim. The group classes are really amazing (in particular Traci's Kickbox Cardio). I've always been able to get a swimming lane without an issue. I've used the hot tub plenty of times and usually there's only 1 or 2 other people in there. I really like that they have child care (for $10 a month) so I can always bring my daughter in the evenings. The ladies who take care of her are really nice and caring. Overall, its a good gym at a good price and a perfect location for me. read more

I recently joined this gym and I regret it!! The treadmills are SO OLD they do not function properly! Every time I run on one it feels like I'm going to fall back and it takes forever to speed up. Buttons don't work. Stair steppers on 2nd floor don't work either ...gym sucks . They need up to date equipment not some 1950 year old exercise equipment ! The gym is fine and I like it there; however, Personal Training is another matter. They require you sign up for a long time for personal training - 6 month and 1 year slots. It is $160 a month for one year, one day a week. It is more expensive for 6 months. They promise you 6 free sessions, which they do not honor. If you do not wish to have personal training for the entire time, you have to pay half of what you owe for the year. There is no way out of this commitment unless you become completely disabled. I know, I had to pay half for the remainder of the year I did not use. It is ridiculous! Training sessions are slotted or 1/2 hour time frames, mine were about 20-25 minutes. I would go in and my PT would tell me to warm up for five minutes on my own while he talked to his fellow personal trainers. Then the session would be about 20 minutes. You then do the rest on your own throughout the week. My trainer told me not to go outside and run and to do my work outs at the gym, although running and being outside is my favorite way to exercise. I felt like a hamster on a wheel. I am more fit now than when I was in Personal Training, as I am actually working out again. Trust me, if you sign up for once per week, you will not want to keep this commitment for a year. After a few sessions you will develop good form, and kick yourself for signing up for something you basically are doing totally on your own. You can u-tube good form and get a trainer elsewhere for a few sessions to learn form. I admit, I am bitter because they refused to let me off the hook without paying half of what I still owed for the year in order to drop Personal Training, but I want the public to know what they are getting themselves into when they sign up. Also, there were two guys who talked me into signing up at the time with high pressure sales tactics. If you are considering a long term commitment, I would advise you to think long and hard about whether you mind throwing money to the wind. read more

The renovation was a total failure. They removed a squat rack so now there is only two squat racks. ONE deadlift platform. There is only one landmine corner bracket for barbell rowing that is inconveniently placed by the cable machine so you cannot utilize it if someone is using the cables. Whoever was apart of the renovation is clearly not a lifter. FAIL read more

Do not use the personal training services here. They are a joke and not a good one. The manager who signed my mother and myself up for personal training told us we had 10 days to cancel. Within that period my mother had a significant back injury and per the doctor's orders could not go to the gym to even use the hot tub. When I spoke with Adam (the manager who signed us up and told us we had 10 days) about cancelling the shared membership and starting personal training for just myself. I told him that my mom had received a follow up call from corporate and they had also said 10 days. He actually had the audacity to tell me it's actually 3 days. The initial training session counted as 2 sessions and we took 3 pictures, measurements of only the right side of my body and only did 3 exercises. It was done with a trainer who was completely ill prepared and I spent half the time waiting for her to get herself together. Absolutely ridiculous! Corporate will be getting several follow up calls from me until this is resolved. read more

They have security cameras but of course like most establishments don't invest in the best equipment/nor do they have any patrolling security during the day and the night security well we shall say it was a small investment. read more
