It's been a year with them arguing over getting it registered and they are part owner of the car even though we paid in cash. Which in a month of having the car I spend over $1,200 on repairs . -replace all 4 tires -exhaust pipe had a hole -wheel alignment When I called I was told I bough it "as is" and for me to wait on the warranty to kick in so I can take a Buick dealership. 5/2024 Took it they fix what they could fix under warranty. Drove off not even a week drive the engine light came on. Took it back to the dealership they found more problems one of which the warranty refused to cover even though it should cover it. I genuinely think none of us (me and the dealership) knew the extent of the customizations that were added to the car. I had 2 mechanics look at it once I bought it and told me to return it because it was dangerous and voided the warranty that I bought. I went to the dealership and they worked really hard to make me happy. I settled on returning the car. It's unfortunate and I'm sure they hate me but I really appreciate them for being so respectful and understanding with me. I'm a single woman and a lil ol social worker so that's huge. I was ready to get cussed out and that didn't happen. Sean and Z were great and always super professional. Have submitted a complaint on BBB and my credit card since they are no help. highly encourage you to stay away. So I didn't want to do this but honestly here goes nothing. After buying the car, dropping 2k down and leaving a 5* review, three days later as I was reversing I heard a loud clank under the car. An ESC warning light came on, I googled just how urgent it could be and it said it had to be addressed rather quickly but could still drive. Working two jobs, I had to wait for my day off which was two days away. To be fair I did drive the car, but I wasn't expecting a light to come on three days after purchase. I took it to my mechanic on the third day and he took one look at my tires and said they were on threads and about to pop. (My commute is 40 mins each way on the 405, imagine...) After calling the dealership and requesting they have a look at the car, they proceeded to make my life pretty complicated. First of all, it took the guys from LA fine motors almost a week to get it repaired, they did not want to loan anything on their lot for the trouble (because f*ck the customer am I right?) and it cost me hundreds in Uber just to commute to work. Second, the mechanical issue was actually SO BAD and unsafe I had my mechanic AND their mechanic say to thank my guardian angels as my entire steering was held together by one screw... On tires that were about to pop... (Remember that my commute is 40 min each way on the 405 freeway) Third, they did not cover all the cost of the repairs, and did not want to provide me with even a set of used tires. They actually went out of their way to have me go find my own shop, expected me to drive my unsafe car there and do it all on my own. I still had to foot another 350$. To add insult to injury, the sunroof isn't working, the car desperately needs an alignment, the headlamps are also out of order and there is definitely some electrical issue going on with the car, which of course they did not address. They sold me a car that could've cost me my life and the whole thing went down in under a week. Take your business elsewhere this place is TRASH. read more

This place is a joke. If you're here you probably got pre-approved from someplace like Capital One, I promise you you DO NOT want to buy your car here no matter how great of a deal it might seem like. First off, because they stupidly put their lot on a little patch of land, all the cars are double parked, so they refuse to let you test drive unless "you're absolutely committed to buying this vehicle." First red flag. After test driving with no issues I ended up picking a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage but was told "my finance guy already left for the day, give me $100 cash to hold it and then come back Monday." Red flag number two. I come back, buy the car, meet my wife at a nearby store and put the car seats in with the kids. On the way home I come to a stoplight and the car just DOESNT MOVE. Full on stopped. I'm terrified as we're right on a freeway off ramp. Luckily we live close so I barely make it home after turning the car off and on again (still stalls the whole way), get the kids out, and go for a drive around the block. It shuts down several times. I call these scammers and the salesman tells me to take it to his mechanic. I go the next day and the mechanic tells me his little machine didn't present a code so there's nothing he can do. There's no way I'm accepting that answer so I drive back to this joke of a dealer and tell the salesman Angel he has to make this right. He agrees to take the car to his other mechanic and luckily the issue happens as he's driving it. The other mechanic thinks it's he transmission so he has me leave the car, so I go home. A week later I haven't heard anything so I reach out and Angel tells me "no update." Three days later I have to reach out AGAIN (there's never a time that they give me an update without me pestering) and they tell me it's the transmission and "they're on the hunt for one." Another week later I ask for an update, Angel tells me he's out of office for the next 5 days and to call his manager. The manager Robert is an absolutely useless lump who tells me that only Angel can help me and that there's literally nothing he can do until Angel gets back. So just to recap: get sold a car that almost kills me and my kids, have it basically held hostage for a month, call the manager and he tells me to kick rocks and that only this one singular salesman can help me (then why isn't Angel the manager? What does Robert even do?) Now I know Phil the owner is going to jump in because as you can see from other reviews he has some weird compulsion to defend his crappy cars, but I'll save you the trouble: I'll update this review once you fix this and I actually get the car that I paid for. read more

my daughter recently bought her first car from LA Fine Motors and for the most part the experience was fine. The salesman was friendly, helpful, engaging and assisted us with finding the right car from the inventory. The finance guy was knowledgeable and walked my daughter through the whole set of documents. The one thing I have a serious issue with is that they couldn't bother to put gas in the car or even give it a wash. The place received thousands of dollars from Thai sale and they couldn't even bother to put $40.00 in gas and run it through a $10.00 drive through wash? The car my daughter bought was on fumes and I was worried we wouldn't make it to a nearby gas station. How about a little customer care? This is a Review I left on Google yesterday after the terrible shopping experience at this Non-Dealership. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! They're not a legit used car dealership. There are NO pricing or vehicle information on any vehicle. All the vehicles are filthy & they won't wash it once you buy it. This is my response back to LA Fine Motors: We have purchase OVER 50 cars in the past 10 years so this WAS NOT our 1st car but was going to be our teenage daughter's first car that we could fix up for her! We agreed to a price over the phone but when we same the condition of the car and the tires that is why we asked for the discount because of its condition. I had a really bad experience here to a point where it felt like a case of racism. I came to genuinely find a vehicle and at first Angel the first person I met on the lot was welcoming and responsive. The first thing I found weird was that they didn't let me take the car for a test drive without getting an approval which is a red flag. As I was inspecting the vehicle as anyone buying a used car would, a younger guy claimed to be the manager (he looked unprofessional to be a manager with an old t shirt and regular jeans). He began to aggressively pressure me into putting an application in for the vehicle. As I was inspecting the vehicle he told me to stop looking that the vehicle was fine. He had no car salesman charisma and was definitely not customer friendly. I went to this dealership as they had good prices on smart cars. I think I want a smart car but I've never driven one or even sat inside one. An employee showed me the cars and seemed to know less about them than I did, which is a bad sign. I then asked to test drive the car. He told me that I could only test drive the car if I was ready and willing to buy it today. I replied with, "I don't know if I'll be willing to buy it today. I haven't driven it yet. He then said," Well you can't test drive it unless you're ready to buy it. " I said," I have literally never driven one of these cars and don't know if I'd want to purchase one yet. That's why I'm here." He said, "well then I recommend going to another dealer, test driving the car there, and if you like how it feels to drive a smart car you can come back here and we can talk prices." After waiting for ten minutes he comes up and tells me he will be back after 15 minutes as he is going on a test drive. They were very upfront with any imperfections the car had and even did a video chat test drive with me! On January 21, 2022, after disputing the exorbitant fees being charged, I agreed on a price with Sean, and my daughter and I went to the dealership. When my daughter walked out to test drive the car, they had to jump start the battery. We aren't car savvy. At the time of purchase, I even told Sean that I was on a limited budget and was using the last bit of my unemployment received during COVID to but this car because our other car was totaled by a hit and run driver and wasn't worth the price to repair it. My daughter handled the paperwork which we both signed. I figured when we bought the car, we would probably need to replace the battery and tires. After purchasing the car, issue #1: we were told that the driver's side front door needed to be opened from outside and they had a mechanic who could fix it at a low cost to us. On our way home, issue #2 came up: the brakes began to screech such that we knew the rotors would need to be replaced. After repairing brakes, one of my mechanics found that the struts need to be repaired. LA Fine Motors claimed the brakes were at 50% but our mechanic said that the brakes were under 50%. Issue #3: the next day we got up and the battery was dead. When my daughter opened the hood, she could not believe the amount of dirt and debris under the hood. Then issue #4: the airbag light was on and the horn wasn't working. My daughter thought it was the seat belt light but our mechanic told her it was the airbag light. We were also told that it was illegal to drive with that light on and that the car should not have been sold without this light being repaired. Issue #5: two days after the purchase, my daughter went to the gas station but fuel door would not open so we have to use the emergency release to open the fuel door. Issue #6: Not only did we have to replace the battery, which I expected, but we had to replace all four tires on the car, which I expected. Issue #7: the trunk hydraulics did not work so the trunk would not stay up and the trunk hit her in the head. My daughter and I replaced them. I've been told that I since I signed an AS IS disclaimer, there is nothing we can do. Some of these issues were safety issues and they let us drive this car off the lot. Based on the amount of debris under the hood, i suspect that this car had been sitting on the lot for some time. LA Fine Motors told us, as I have read in several reviews, that the vehicle was inspected and in good condition. Well, whatever mechanic is inspecting these vehicles needs to be fired. LA Fine Motors even asked us to get estimates for repair of the vehicle so we could work out these issues. After providing the estimates, they refused to help us at all. Our mechanic inspected each one of these issues and said that they should not have sold us this car with these issues. It's sad that they refused to disclose the issues with this car all for the sake of the all mighty dollar. So now my daughter and I will have to expend our own monies to repair these issues. These issues did not just happen overnight and were readily apparent at the time the vehicle was sold to us. They knew we weren't auto savvy and that worked to their advantage and our disadvantage. And, any remarks by LA Fine Motors in response to this review is nothing more than CYA. If you decide to do business with them, be careful. They sell Lemon vehicles and once you sign that AS IS disclaimer, you are screwed and they will refuse to help you. I wish that I had come here first and seen all the negative reviews. I would have bought a car from someone else. What's also sad is that in its response, LA Fine Motors blames the customer for what's wrong with cars that they sold or indirectly accuse the customer of lying about their experience with LA Fine Motors. read more
