I come here for one store. Other than that there isn't much. There was another store, but their items are everywhere, so there was no need to come here. But, they always have parking. But I usually go here to go to the store on the way to Walnut Creek or on my way back home. I have walked around this spot, hoping to find another there, there, but there isn't one. I don't know what an update would look like, because it's so old and past it's time. And some of the places that I'd go to - there was a health store - gone, a burger joint - gone, the fancy, healthy food spot - gone, the cupcake spot - gone. You do have to pay for parking, but it's been safe. But still, metered parking in a "dying" shopping center? I'd think that they'd love to have people park. I've been to other places up and down the street and this is the only one where you have to pay! And they have one store, so I only pay for 15 minutes or so. But what a waste! I'd pay for a couple of hours and spend time bouncing from shop to shop, but that won't happen beecause everytime they get another shop of note, it closes down. This is an old school plaza and I want to like it more than I do. I wish they updated themselves, like El Cerrito Plaza. They have some of the same buildings, but built others. they have also updated their offerings and when something closes, another quality store joins them. read more

La Fiesta Square has been here for decades. wrote a review pre-meter, the tenants have changed since then.. this is the only major shopping center in Lafayette that has meters..noticed a meter person walking around giving out tickets. the lot is in the middle surrounded on the perimeter by the businesses. eats/drinks tenants: -starbucks roam's burgers -papillon coffee tutu's -urban remedy la Chataigne -Mangia Ristorante Pizzeria the other businesses i have not interest in visiting. read more

I would not visit again because of the meter situation. The meters end at 7:00 pm. We arrived at 6:45 for dinner and incurred a $25 ticket. It was dark so we didn't even notice the meters, but the meter situation is a detriment to the businesses. The funds don't even go to the City of Lafayette. A private company receives the revenue for the meters. read more

This plaza, which is located near Highway 24 has some amazing tenants that are a MUST on my list to visit. Unfortunately, many times I re-consider shopping here due to the metered parking which went into effect in 2015. After chatting with one of the teenage parking attendants, I understand why they have an incentive to vigilantly monitor the lot. They're paid more than $20 an hour; a great wage for a teen! I used to be able to park at the meters that had time left on them, but after reading Garth H.'s updated review, I see that is no longer a possibility : ( The plaza has a lot of tenants, and the central location in Lafayette makes it easily accessible -- if you're willing to pay an hourly parking fee Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. -- with a 3-hour time limit to boot according to their website. The parking attendants at La Fiesta Square are walking around the parking lot and clearing any unused minutes that are left behind at the meter by a visitor of the lot. This is ridiculous!!! They already received monies for this time and are trying to maximize their revenue by clearing their meters throughout the day. The greed of this landlord never stops. Additionally, their aggressive tactics for raising revenue even further, prevents the opportunity for some visitors to capture any benefit that may result if a meter has extra time left by a fellow patron. It is important to recognize that the vendors in this complex are not responsible for this behavior, but they need to recognize that their businesses can suffer negatively by this opportunistic activity of the landlord. read more

Long time resident of the Tri-Valley, decided to try La Chataigne because of the great reviews. We there not more than 10 minutes from start to finish when we found a ticket sitting on my windshield on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately this has left us with a bad taste in our mouth, and not because of the great pastries at La Chataigne. Unfortunately, we will not be back to visit because of this experience. read more

Ever since the greedy management company put meters in this jam packed tiny spaced parking slots, everyone who is a few minutes late gets a $25 ticket. There are some great places here but these networked meters are causing long time patrons to go elsewhere and there are plenty of places along Mt. Diablo..So, adios Fiesta! read more

Lafayette's shopping area is pretty spread out, but La Fiesta square is probably the most dense part. The selection of botique stores here really defines the shopping experience here, lots of stuff you might peer at, but probably wouldn't buy unless you, well, were into buying botuiqe stuff. Which perhaps Lafayette's relatively rich, white, population is. My office is here, so I've spent a lot of time peering at the shops here. The parking lot is always crowded, especially around lunch - they are currently in the process of installing parking meters for the 20 minute spots. Chow is possibly the most popular restuarant in Lafayette, and is always crowed (see my separate review). My favorite stores here are probably Clocks etc, and Nitro dog, which are suitable eclectic. Still, if I'm coming to Lafayette for non-work, it's probably to the supermarkets, which are elsewhere. And in general, I prefer the Rockridge shopping experience. Still, nice place to come to walk around. But if you drive, choose your time carefully. read more

The new Parking meters are ridiculous! I was not aware that they are enforced to 9 PM. I went into Roam to grab an order I placed online, and got a ticket in just a few minutes. It was at 8:25 PM too. As far as I am aware, these private parking companies have no recourse on collecting. Anyone know otherwise?? I'm not paying! read more

This would be a nice place to go, but management has really screwed up with this metered parking. I've noticed that the parking lot is a desert. I know several people who work in the square, all who say that it's affecting business. Also, each business is onLy allowing a few spaces for they're employees, which is not enough for any of the companies employees. And evidently the property managers have voiced they're opinions that they truly do not care about these problems AT ALL. Nobody (including myself) wants to go down there and pay to park. It's ridiculous! All this is going to do is take dollars away from Lafayette over to Broadway plaza. Furthermore, the meters are enforced on Sunday...SUNDAY?? City parking doesn't even do that, which truly tells me that this is nothing more than a money grab by the property owners. Well, I have no intention of giving these people my money, and It would seem in recent weeks everyone agrees with me, which is the only thing they care about. I used to live in lafayette and was proud of all the small local shops like nitro dogs, papillon, and all the friendly people there. I almost went there daily with my Goldie walking around. Since then u move and two months ago I deliberately went there on a SUNDAY morning to visit Starbucks there and some old friends. That was SUNDAY, lafayette, not san Francisco, not New York City. Guess what? After 60 mins later, I returned and realized I got slapped a $20 fine ticket for not feeding the meter. The parking lot was close to empty at that time. That came in as a complete shock to me. Wow that was an expensive trip. The ticket also cheekily labeled that "hey it was the city council there that screwed u. It was me". Management people love to profit on doing nothing for the small business people, because they can and they are greedy. That was the last trip. I will never ever visit that charming place and be robbed again. Sad. read more

Giving this place one star is kinda sad. There are some great stores and a small local coffee shop that is really fun...............BUT Parking Meters????? What is the owner just a cheapskate????? Get a life this is Lafayette, are you just trying to make a profit from the people that visit the center? They even give these STUPID tickets to cars that display their Handicap signs in non handicap spaces. TOTALLY WRONG!!! PROTEST THIS TOTAL CRAP! When planning to meet a friend for lunch we discussed Roam and The Cooperage as options, but the parking meters caused us to go elsewhere. Won't be back to La Fiesta Square until the parking meters are removed. $1.50/hour parking is ridiculous in Lafayette. read more

The parking is awful. Way too few parking spaces for the number of businesses. My friends and I have had problems with the parking meters. One can think you have paid for parking, punching in the time, and sliding your credit card which will say approved only to find out you got a parking ticket. The charge shows up on your Visa bill. It should NOT be this complicated. read more

La Fiesta Square now has metered parking for every parking space in the lot with a charge of $1.25/hour, 24 hours a day. As a Lafayette resident of this small town, it is extremely disappointing. All revenue goes to the property owners. Nothing goes to the City. It is a total money grab that will drive retail revenue out of Lafayette. read more
