There was a period of time when I probably shopped at Broadway Plaza 1-2 times PER MONTH (now I'm stuck paying off my credit cards but that's my own fault and a separate issue). What was wrong with the old system? It worked just fine. But now you have to download an app to get out of the parking garage, EVEN IF you were there for less than the three hours of courtesy parking. It's absolutely insane. And even worse, there's NO cell reception in the garage (at least with AT&T) so you can't download the app without returning to the open air mall. Maybe that's why they changed things up? So that for people who haven't been to Broadway Plaza since before the app was rolled out, they might be able to charge for more time? It's unbelievable. And... you have to enter a bunch of personal information. Why do I need to download an app to pay for parking after I've already shopped at the mall, potentially pushing one of the tenants over their percentage rent breakpoint? It's outrageous. I don't mind having the ParkMobile app for parking because it allows me to park on many different cities' streets with little to no hassle. So I'm not anti-parking app. I am anti-Metropolis parking app. At least before, you got a time-stamped ticket so you knew exactly when to leave if you wanted to avoid paying. Now you have to remember to check the precise time you entered the garage, assuming it's even time-stamping accurately. And how do you know precisely where it time-stamps you? Macerich, do better. There's a good mix of restaurants, clothing, and jewelry shops, most of which are high quality brands and the mall constantly stays fresh and vibrant although I do wish they had more restrooms outside of the ones below Industrious. Some weekends they have a maker fare or live music, but most of the time the fountain is just central to the comfortable seating area, that during the winter gets some decor for the holidays. All in all, I really do love this area and still find myself coming back year after year.

It has such a nice layout, they have a water fountain area thar feels like a mini Bellagio (Vegas Strip) water show. This space also has the Luxe Movie Theater and big play area for kids. They have lots of great eateries like fancy Italian, Mexican, Shabu Shabu as well as chains like Yard House and Dave N Busters. Also, they have lots of shopping options, Whole Foods, and a plethora of other stores. Our favorite stops include the Humphrey Slocombe ice cream shop, Wine Bar and Barnes and Noble. The only reason for the 4/5 stars is how hard it is to park on the weekends. Stop by sometime, you'll have a blast!

They have good amount of parking but tends to get full during peak times. Timing is key when going to this mall. There are so many things you can do at this mall, eating spots like pizza, sushi, Brazilian all you can eat, boba/desert spots to shopping: gap, TJ Maxx, old navy, Cost Plus World Market. The have AAA services and banking too. It's a go to spot to eat for me.

No, I don't like those at all and they are popping up more and more. People are diving bigger and bigger cars and the spaces are getting smaller and smaller.... what is going on with that? Nobody loitering - looked like a great neighborhood in Concord. Still, would like more interesting stores - I guess San Francisco is the only city to make it so hard for chains to move in?

I have been coming to this plaza since 2013, and have patronized Chase Bank, CVS, Chevron, and…read moreSafeway. The plaza used to be called just Rossmoor Shopping Center, as it is the near Rossmoor, a private and wealthy senior citizen housing neighborhood with its own bus service; but it began to undergo extensive renovations in 2016, since it was over 50 years old and horribly outdated. Tallen Capital Partners, LLC, (via Tallen & Keshen Holdings, LLC), Citivest Commercial, Inc., and a financial partner purchased the plaza in 2012 and are renovating it to add over 20,000 square feet of space, as well as bocce ball courts, outdoor seating, an outdoor TV screen, fire pits, improved lighting, shade trees, planters, and more handicapped parking instead of compact parking. New wider sidewalks and additional crosswalks and pedestrian and bicycle access points and racks will be added. They will be additional bus stops within the plaza. New warmer and modern colors will be used. for the buildings They will feature events like farmer's markets, Saturday morning Cars and Coffee, a children's Halloween costume event, and senior health events. New restaurants, both national and regional, and some chef-inspired ones, will be added, as well as a dementia respite day center. People of all ages will be attracted to this new center, including families. The Safeway was (and still is) old and small, and not of the new design. They are currently renovating that now, both inside and outside. The CVS was small and had no drive-thru. Now they have relocated it to the center edge of the plaza and and expanded it, with a new drive thru. It opened in May, 2018. They also added a new Starbucks with drive-thru in October, 2018. Current stores Wells Fargo, US Bank, Chase Bank, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Chevron, and USPS have agreed to stay on and signed lease extensions. There is also currently a UPS Store here. I am super excited with the renovations, including those that have happened so far. Access out of the plaza is much easier and parking is better designed. There is also a food truck that parks there on the street during lunch time, and the plaza is near a Bank of America, Rite Aid with drive-thru, and John Muir outpatient center. The only negative is I wonder how much better the Safeway will be, since there is limited space t expand. It still be be small. I guess I will have to wait and see if the other features, including new restaurants, are added. To the best of my knowledge, no restaurants have agreed to sign on, as of yet. I hope they can keep their promises. I will be coming here again soon and plan to update my review and add more pictures!

It's a family atmosphere and nice people. You can park on the streets or in the parking building for free. During this visit, I decided to check-out their Thursday's Music and Market event from 6:30pm-8:00pm. I was amazed how many families and dogs (on leash) having a fun time. It was a like a big picnic for the community. It had an electric vibe. The live music was great. There were food tents lined up with different cuisines and other vendors. I decided to stop by the Asian Snow Ice tent and ordered their Mango icee. It was refreshing. I will be back.

The main tenants are Safeway, on one end of the center, and CVS right in the middle of the center. Other tenants are tucked under the awning and span the length of the shopping center. Crystal Cleaners seems to have been in this location forever! Just to correct the description of the shopping center as being built in 1979, that is incorrect. I…read morestarted working at that Safeway in 1973 and it was an old building then. The Chevron was on the corner. The rest of the strip mall was probably built prior to 1979. I worked there at Safeway through the entire construction. That Safeway Store number was 720, that number meant that it was a very old store. During the time that the strip mall was being built Safeway kicked out the front and side of the building making it much larger. At that point they gave the store a new number. It was 720 and they added a 9 to the front of the store number and eliminated the zero at the end making the new store number 972 which at that time reflected a much newer building.

It's a tiny shopping center located off of Gregory lane right between the Contra Costa Canal trail and the nearby Zio Fraedo's restaurant. There are two main reasons why I frequent this Plaza: 1) La Mordida Mexican restaurant And 2) Mirage Nails I'm completely addicted to La Mordida! I started coming here over a year ago and it has quickly become my favorite hole in the wall Mexican spot! Recently, I discovered Mirage Nails next door and have started coming here to get my nails done. It's the perfect combo, right?! Pamper myself with a mani and then right after, pamper myself with some Mexican goodness. Yep... this is why I can't stay away from Sandalwood! I'll admit that I haven't visited any of the other businesses in this plaza quite yet, but there really isn't too much else going on in there. There's a bike shop across the way that's been for quite sometimes. There's also a fitness center, a yoga place, a day spa, and a liquor store. Not sure if I'll be visiting any of these businesses anytime soon, but I'm sure I'll end up hitting up a few of them in the future since I come to this shopping center about once a week or so. There's always parking available in their parking lot since this a plaza that is far less frequented than many others in the neighborhood. However, parking can be tight since the lot is small. All in all, it's a nice local shopping center with a great Mexican restaurant and a nice nail salon.
