What a disgusting filthy theatre! We watched The Odyssey last night (10:45pm) and the bathrooms were horrible. When we came out they were even worse, no toilet paper in ANY stall, with paper all over the floor. When I arrived at my theatre seat, thankfully I had wet wipes in my bag and I was able to wipe down all the visible sticky mess along the seat. I get it, record crowds were watching this movie, but at least clean up VISIBLE yuckiness on the seats. We paid $27/tix and for 3 it was over a $100 experience with popcorn and drinks. (Ridiculous to charge $10 for a regular fountain soda!) What tipped the scale was the cockroaches scurrying around, YUCK! Last time I'll be going to that theatre.e read more

Nice shopping center/ area that has lots of different stores. I think there's a good mix and I believe this place may be a collection of mostly outlet brands. There's plenty of places to shop and plenty of places to eat and probably fits with budgets of all different sizes. It has the staples that you tend to see at other outlet malls and centers but have unique eateries and shops as well. During this time of year (November), there's also an ice rink that lots of people seem to enjoy. Some family wanted to go to Sephora and man it was packed! Which is not surprising, since we were there on the busy shopping day of the year. I got to do some other browsing at J Crew. It was a short trip overall, but I can easily see people spending hours here if they needed to do some serious shopping. Came here with family because they wanted to do some shopping on Black Friday. It was really hectic as you would expect. The parking situation was pretty crazy and it took a while of driving around and luck to get a parking spot. read more

Review for J Crew!!! When searching, came up for Veranda. (See image) Yes, this location, but this store specifically. I brought in 6 pair of shorts WITH tags fully attached and asked if I could get store credit. Yes, I bought last year and pulled out my summer clothes... the shorts no longer fitted me. The manager showed me a size 10 pair of shorts (mine were all size 8) in white and said I can exchange for this item. I asked him, if you still carry the product and don't have any other colors, why can't I just get store credit... you still sell the product.! His answer was, this is what I have... and I told him what am I going to do with the other 5 pairs...? I took my shorts and left. More valuable in a tax write off than shopping here! Seriously, if the product is still in your store, why could I not just store credit? Terrible service! Will not return! read more

Gorgeous spot but I asked to rent some ping pong paddles and balls and they were really harsh with me! Their sign doesn't state any times that these supplies aren't rentable but apparently they don't give them till 3 pm? Then I waited till 3 and the security guard said "it's too hot" and told me they're closed. Honestly just disappointing after waiting so long. Hoping for more clarity next visit. I think that the Veranda Shopping Center is a victim of its own success. We were there for dinner at Espetus at 5pm on a Friday night. The parking lot was a hot mess. Cars circling incessantly looking for that elusive space. Some drivers obviously getting impatient based on their rapid acceleration and sudden braking whenever it appeared that someone was approaching their vehicle or stepped on their brake pedal. From what little we observed, there is a very good mix of business present which is great to see. So many other destination shopping areas are suffering vacancies and closed businesses. I imagine that parking is not such a mess during the day or perhaps on weeknights and yes, this was the day after New Years so more people were probably out and about. Still, had I really understood what the parking situation was like, I would have made reservations for another night. And it wasn't any better when we left at 7pm either. read more

I enjoyed visiting The Veranda while I was in Concord. This place was clean and pretty with the water fountain and outdoor seating area. I realize now that I didn't visit the whole place as their directory/map shows more stores that I didn't get to visit. There's plenty of parking in their lots, and I see the security driving around so I felt very safe there. I visited several stores while I was there-Cost Plus World Market, TJ Maxx, Sephora, and Old Navy. I got Mikuni takeout, which was delish. The staff at Cost Plus World Market was friendly and attentive. I also visiting Dave & Busters to check it out, and it was definitely popping especially for the kiddos. I would definitely return again if I was in the area. :) read more

Our first visit to The Veranda - but we will be back! Large, upscale, new shopping mall in the heart of Concord. It's all outdoors and the property is gorgeous. Mostly restaurants - and good ones! We can't wait to come back and try more places. There is a nice Sephora and TJ Maxx and World Market. Also a very nice Barnes and Noble. I kept thinking - a great date spot! Giant Luxe movie theater too. There is a large water feature with dancing fountains and it was so nice just to sit outside and chit chat. We came on a Friday and it got very very busy around 5:30. I would say come early to find good parking and get into the restaurants. Awesome use of that parcel of land!! Loved it. read more

Me trying to catch up on reviews from January 2023, edition #2! Lol Nice place to shop and dine here in the Bay Area of Cali! Years ago, I once bounced around the bay long before The Veranda existed. In my day, Sun Valley Mall was poppin'!! IYKYK! This is a nice outdoor shopping center worth checking out located in Concord. I was here to meet up with friends from forever ago. It was nice to catch up, eat, and walk around. Be sure to get your selfie at the big red chair!! I recommend coming here for whatever may need. There are several parking lots here, but exercise caution as it gets busy during the holidays and other peak times. Plan ahead and have a nice visit! read more

Overall rating: - Great potential, but room to improve. Service was not to a standard due to each brand had their MVP. The Veranda offers a solid selection of stores, food spots, and services, with something for every taste and budget -- from full meals to snacks, groceries to gym access, and beauty to boutique shops. The value is there if you know where to shop, and there's a good spread for all price points. That said, the experience depends on when you go. The parking lot gets extremely congested, especially on weekends and evenings. While the shopping center is visually nice, security feels hit or miss, and there's a growing issue with unsupervised youth -- bikes and scooters zipping through crowds with little correction or oversight. It can feel chaotic at peak hours. The location is convenient, right off the freeway and across from Sunvalley Mall, and EV drivers will appreciate the Tesla and electric vehicle chargers. But to truly shine, The Veranda needs to tighten up crowd control, safety, and parking flow. Love going to this area for eating, shopping and just browsing around. They have a large movie theater, plenty of shops (pretty much all large retailers), a large arcade, big and small restaurants and a tiny little playground with one climbing structure. My little one is still a little too little for this- I wish there were more options for tiny tykes but I still enjoy bringing little man here. Super packed on the weekends and especially around Christmas time but such a gem on the weekdays if you can make it! read more

Parking is absolutely HORRENDOUS during peak hours on weekends. Good luck finding a spot if you're dining here, you might have to park on the opposite end and walk over. There's also an Escape Room, something that I'll have to check out in the future. Do not come here for the ice skating! The prices are cheaper than most places but that's for a reason this rink is TINY! Service was fast as easy but the skates left our feet super wet for some reason. I regret making the drive out here for a rink that was very overhyped online, it also looks a lot bigger on the website where we bought our tickets. Save your money and time do not come here. The only good thing about this rink is that they use a mini zamboni between sessions, but they don't wait long enough between for the ice to harden up. read more

On street parking none. Just have to wait till one person leaves and be lucky. Shopping: Lots of restaurants and popular shops such as Old Navy, Whole foods, Sephora, and Tj max. Many restaurants such as Mod pizza, Shabuya or Texas De Brazil. Lots to choose from. Overall: A highly popular destination with far too many people per parking spots available. This outdoor shopping center has all the chain stores I have come to expect in a sprawling shopping center, and a lot of restaurants. There is also a movie theater, a Whole Food Market, and ice skating during the holidays. I don't shop much; if I did this would be one of my stops. The parking lot is always jammed-packed, but I never see that many people here. Every time I have been here it has been hard to find a parking spot and when I get out of the car I never see shoppers. It is a mystery where they go. I went on a Yelp scavenger hunt here last year and really explored the center. I don't think the Veranda is pedestrian friendly. I go to malls to walk in bad weather. However, the movie theater has comfortable seats, and there are enough restaurants to encourage me to return. read more

It's a fairly new shopping center. Wasn't sure if it is considered an outside mall but it's beautiful. There are stores here that we all like such as TJ Maxx, World Market, Barnes and Nobles, just to name a few. But I like coming here for the restaurants and other things to do like the Escape Room and Dave and Buster. There's also free wifi! Yay! So when you come here to shop, you can eat here as well, and bring the kiddos to the play area or just hang out, sit, have coffee. Did I mention there's an Imax theater here? I drove by this place so many times and didn't really think too much about it since their freeway sign didn't really tell me a lot... or maybe it didn't help that I may have been driving too fast to really pay attention. And then one day, Hubbers decided to check out The Yard House and that's when I realized THIS was the Veranda. It's HUGE. The Yard House isn't the only place to check out. There's EMC, World Market (where Hubbers and parentals scored some home stuff), Whole Foods (where Hubbers scored specialty cheeses) TJ Maxx, Dave and Busters, Old Navy, Sephora, Silverlake Ramen, etc... there's plenty of things to see and do at this place! Parking can't be an issue here because it is a-plenty so I don't see it as an issue. (Although, I've only been here a couple of times, both non-peak hours, so I may not be as accurate as I feel to be.) I also found that round-about at one of their entries, which I feel wasn't necessary (not really a fan, it could cause some confusion with first timers, possible minor accidents) but I guess it adds a little touch to a grandiose place. A great shopping center offering many different stores. Parking was a bit difficult during the holiday shopping extravaganza but normally throughout the year its not impossible. The landscaping and buildings are very good looking. Its a newer area and is of the outdoor trendy type. I still don't exactly understand why indoor malls are so out of style.... especially during one of these atmospheric rivers where we have non stop rain for days and days. A great variety of newer trendy shops. Eat, drink be merry. Most are chains and not too interesting. All the more reason to help out those mom and pop shops when you see them. Now that Christmas is behind us its actually the best time to go shopping. I'm not advising you buy decorations at 75% off - you've got enough of that sort of stuff. Avoid old Christmas cookies too that are heavily discounted. I don't want you to get round around the middle and blame me. I'm suggesting you look for children's toys and jackets. Perfect time for that. Do not park at the neighboring shopping center and walk across the street to this one. Thats taboo and there are these rental cops that spy on you if you do that sort of thing. If you're feeling a little Beverly Hills on any given day, this is THE SPOT! Nice upscale layout offering a luxuryish experience. Great food and drinks lovely fountain with a color show at night and live music is frequently played. Activities for the kiddos such as a play park and an amazing IMAX theater with alllll the perks. They put up an ice skating rink in the winter next to the theater that stays open even after the holidays! Also a cool spot to chill with friends and enjoy the ambiance with plenty of outdoor and indoor dining options for everyone. Nice place to go shopping. As I was driving on 680, I noticed a really nice shopping mall off to the right and had to check it out. I pulled into the lot and saw there was plenty of parking, which is the norm during these COVID times. This plaza looked amazing as it's still pretty new, clean, and has a variety of stores and restaurants to check out. While not everything is open, there are a fair number of restaurants offering outdoor dining, delivery, and take out. Curbside pickup has been installed and are visible when passing by. What's Open (as of 8/15/2020) - EMC Seafood & Raw Bar - Ko Cups - Mikuni - Mod Pizza - Peet's Coffee - Poke Bowl - Popbar - Puesto - Residual Sugar Wine Bar - Silverlake Ramen - Super Duper Burgers - Yardhouse The entertainment/fitness places such as Dave & Buster's, City Sports, Red Door Escape Room, and the Veranda Luxe Cinema are still temporarily closed due to local restrictions. The place to be in Concord is the Veranda. This shopping center has all the stores you want to go into. The Veranda is your alternative to go shopping if you don't want to go to Sun Valley Mall. You have Gap, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Banana Republic. Heck there is even Whole Foods Market, Barnes & Noble, and Peet's Coffee in this shopping center. I think what Veranda does to grab people's attention is having events. Before the pandemic there were Friday Morning Yoga! They even had Kickboxing being held on Friday Morning. You wouldn't believe that before the Veranda existed it use to be a huge Chevron Building. The Veranda surely makes you forget what use to be there. Stores has come and go within the years. Remember the Coffee Shop and Toys R Us? You wouldn't believe those use to be in The Veranda. Let hope that The Veranda doesn't die down. We need The Veranda. read more

Nice outdoor shopping center. I've been here more than ten times since they opened. There's shopping, eateries, etc. Most of the time I come to The Veranda is to dine at Shabuya which is an all you can eat hot pot restaurant. This shopping center needs more restroom locations. There's only one location for the restrooms which is near the Veranda Luxe Cinema & IMAX. The restrooms are pretty clean and there's a nice indoor sitting area before the restroom entrance. Sometimes parking spaces are hard to find so should allow extra time for parking. read more

The good: This is a wonderful outdoor, kid-friendly shopping plaza with mostly restaurants/eateries. There's a movie theatre and some clothing stores but this is more of a spot to go to for food and hanging out with family. There's a big faux grass area where kids can play and a giant jungle gym that looks super fun for active kiddos. There's also a water fountain area that splashes a lot (great for the summer) and an outdoor piano. Many of the restaurants have outdoor dining options so you can people-watch. The area looks newly developed and modern. There are lots of Instagrammable areas here. I have no idea why the reviews for this place aren't higher! I'd definitely want to come back and try more of the food spots. The bad: The parking lot can get crowded. The interesting: They have complimentary wheelchairs at the security desk. They have free wifi as well. Every Wednesday until October they'll have outdoor musical performances on the lawn area. read more

3 for parking!!! Lots of great businesses at this center but the parking is terrible. If you want to come on a weekend or busy weeknight...... think again. You'll easily drive around the parking lot for 10+ minutes looking for a spot and will more than likely end up parking on the other side of the lot away from your desired destination. Why this center did not put in a parking structure is beyond me. The venue itself is beautiful. The landscape is always well manicured. The lights during Christmas are beautiful. Security is always visible, whether you're walking around or driving around. The fountain is beautiful and dances to music. Lots of outdoor seating and seasonal events. I love coming here. Wonderful food and entertainment. Some of my family and I went ice skating. It's a small rink and crowded, but nice to have the opportunity. (why I gave only 4 stars). There is a Ko Cups, they ate here. It looked really good. There is a red door escape room. We didn't get to try it this time. I am happy we had the time to come here. It was worth the drive. clean areas, play spaces, fine shopping, luxe movie theatre with IMAX. There is a Sephora here which is pretty cool. I hope to come back soon! read more

The food options are pretty good for a shopping center, but their price point is a bit higher than average for the area. In addition to the businesses their grounds have a few nice features that feel very family friendly, like a playground and a water fountain near outdoor food vendors. The only real downside is that parking can be tough at peak times, maybe they should have built a parking garage! read more

The Veranda has been a highly popular addition to Concord with its mix of restaurants, stores like T.J. Maxx, an IMAX theater - and my favorite, a Barnes and Noble bookstore! We would go there more often if we were not marooned over in East Concord where it's a 30 minute drive. I mainly wanted to mention the parking situation. We were surprised that even on a weekday at lunchtime it was near impossible to find a spot -obviously the restaurants do a stellar lunch business. We finally found a few empty spaces in the very last aisle near Diamond Boulevard. (Customers with mobility issues need to be aware and may require drop-off if no handicap slots are open.) If you come at a busy time, and can't find anything, we did notice a possible work around. Make a left on Willow Way off Diamond Boulevard coming in, and park in one of the remote areas of the Willows. Then it's a short dash across the street directly into Veranda.
