I have been coming to this plaza since 2013, and have patronized Chase Bank, CVS, Chevron, and…read moreSafeway. The plaza used to be called just Rossmoor Shopping Center, as it is the near Rossmoor, a private and wealthy senior citizen housing neighborhood with its own bus service; but it began to undergo extensive renovations in 2016, since it was over 50 years old and horribly outdated. Tallen Capital Partners, LLC, (via Tallen & Keshen Holdings, LLC), Citivest Commercial, Inc., and a financial partner purchased the plaza in 2012 and are renovating it to add over 20,000 square feet of space, as well as bocce ball courts, outdoor seating, an outdoor TV screen, fire pits, improved lighting, shade trees, planters, and more handicapped parking instead of compact parking. New wider sidewalks and additional crosswalks and pedestrian and bicycle access points and racks will be added. They will be additional bus stops within the plaza. New warmer and modern colors will be used. for the buildings They will feature events like farmer's markets, Saturday morning Cars and Coffee, a children's Halloween costume event, and senior health events. New restaurants, both national and regional, and some chef-inspired ones, will be added, as well as a dementia respite day center. People of all ages will be attracted to this new center, including families. The Safeway was (and still is) old and small, and not of the new design. They are currently renovating that now, both inside and outside. The CVS was small and had no drive-thru. Now they have relocated it to the center edge of the plaza and and expanded it, with a new drive thru. It opened in May, 2018. They also added a new Starbucks with drive-thru in October, 2018. Current stores Wells Fargo, US Bank, Chase Bank, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Chevron, and USPS have agreed to stay on and signed lease extensions. There is also currently a UPS Store here. I am super excited with the renovations, including those that have happened so far. Access out of the plaza is much easier and parking is better designed. There is also a food truck that parks there on the street during lunch time, and the plaza is near a Bank of America, Rite Aid with drive-thru, and John Muir outpatient center. The only negative is I wonder how much better the Safeway will be, since there is limited space t expand. It still be be small. I guess I will have to wait and see if the other features, including new restaurants, are added. To the best of my knowledge, no restaurants have agreed to sign on, as of yet. I hope they can keep their promises. I will be coming here again soon and plan to update my review and add more pictures!

It's a tiny shopping center located off of Gregory lane right between the Contra Costa Canal trail and the nearby Zio Fraedo's restaurant. There are two main reasons why I frequent this Plaza: 1) La Mordida Mexican restaurant And 2) Mirage Nails I'm completely addicted to La Mordida! I started coming here over a year ago and it has quickly become my favorite hole in the wall Mexican spot! Recently, I discovered Mirage Nails next door and have started coming here to get my nails done. It's the perfect combo, right?! Pamper myself with a mani and then right after, pamper myself with some Mexican goodness. Yep... this is why I can't stay away from Sandalwood! I'll admit that I haven't visited any of the other businesses in this plaza quite yet, but there really isn't too much else going on in there. There's a bike shop across the way that's been for quite sometimes. There's also a fitness center, a yoga place, a day spa, and a liquor store. Not sure if I'll be visiting any of these businesses anytime soon, but I'm sure I'll end up hitting up a few of them in the future since I come to this shopping center about once a week or so. There's always parking available in their parking lot since this a plaza that is far less frequented than many others in the neighborhood. However, parking can be tight since the lot is small. All in all, it's a nice local shopping center with a great Mexican restaurant and a nice nail salon.

What a disgusting filthy theatre! We watched The Odyssey last night (10:45pm) and the bathrooms…read morewere horrible. When we came out they were even worse, no toilet paper in ANY stall, with paper all over the floor. When I arrived at my theatre seat, thankfully I had wet wipes in my bag and I was able to wipe down all the visible sticky mess along the seat. I get it, record crowds were watching this movie, but at least clean up VISIBLE yuckiness on the seats. We paid $27/tix and for 3 it was over a $100 experience with popcorn and drinks. (Ridiculous to charge $10 for a regular fountain soda!) What tipped the scale was the cockroaches scurrying around, YUCK! Last time I'll be going to that theatre.e

Features: Walking paths Baseball Field Restrooms Dog friendly Playground Swimming pool Public Garden Parking The park was clean, felt safe, and had plenty of space for walkers, runners, families, and people simply looking to enjoy the outdoors. They have several places to eat a nice meal as well as places for dessert. There was a huge Spirit Halloween store, a Baskin Robbins, Leslie's Pool Supplies, Lucky's Grocery Store, The Kreamery & Bake Shoppe, McCoulou's Department Store, Fiore Italian Restaurant, the UPS store, and many other stores. I loved the variety of stores that they had to offer. There were plenty of parking spots throughout the shopping center, which was really nice. I would definitely stop by here again, the next time we are in the area.

Personally, we enjoyed this park more as it was paved and had more amenities, such as exercise equipment and children's play spaces. It could definitely use more culture and zhuzh as there were many spots where a bit of design (such as a mural) would have improved the vibe. But that being said, it wasn't too bad for a mid-sized neighborhood park. Our favorite areas were the small overlook with stone bench and the bridge that connected back to the trail towards Lakes. Sadly, like Lakes, some of the trails that lead down from the bridge were a bit washed out so we didn't get explore as much as we would have liked but all in all we much enjoyed getting some steps in and would definitely come back - but perhaps on a day where it's not raining.

These two parks are often confused as one park, but they actually intercept each other. This is an excellent place to bring the kiddies as there is a pretty large play structure in tow. There's also a huge grassy field that's perfect for picnicking and other recreational activities. The walking paths are all paved and lead to other trails within nearby Hidden Lakes Park. There's tons of picnic space and each picnic area can be reserved for special events. You'll find a good amount of exercise equipment near a few of the walking paths. Parking is easy and there are clean restrooms on site. This is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a light run. The large grassy field space is also very desirable for dog owners. I immediately noticed how clean this park was as soon as I arrived. They definitely do an excellent job of cleaning and maintaining this area. I'd say that this is one of the better local parks in the area.
