After being a long time customer of the Willows, they rewarded my loyalty by vandalizing my car and threatening to tow my car. I parked near Claim Jumper and walked over to the Veranda. We often frequent both the Veranda and the Willows in the same shopping trip. Within an hour of parking, they plastered this large paper sticker on my drivers side window. We had gone to dinner, but were planning on going to Diaso afterwards. But when I saw the offending sticker, we just left. It took 20 minutes, a razor, and harsh chemicals to get the damn thing off. This is vandalism, and very short sighted of the Willows. I will not be returning to the Willows again!

It's really hard to do a review of a place you see and work at 5 days a week. I have really two opinons of this place. My opinion as a "customer" and as a "security guard". Some people either love their job or they dislike it. Like Michael Jackson says in his song "Wanna be Startin Somethin" I'm stuck in the middle and the pain is thunder! But all in all I still have an opinion and pictures to add from my prospectives. Here is my review in two aspects.. October 23, 2016 Sunday - 10:35 p.m. before work 1 adult. Property - 3/5 Selection - 3/5 Management - 1/5 Background - (Security Guard) The Willows is where I got dispatched too, (Customer) I never was a huge Willows shopper, mostly restaurants with very little shopping options. Property - (SG) I'm the "Graveyard" security officer. "Alone" I make sure the property is..secured. Having a combo of responsibilities as compared to my Morning and Swing officers, without camera's being on the property, My patrols are frequent and for what it's worth not much happens at night. But more accommodation from property management would be nice. (Customer) I like Ike's Sandwiches, I've been to Clame Jumpers a few times over the years, Lazy Dog is okay, never been to Eureka, Dos Coyotes is decent. Not many real shopping options, Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, Cost Plus World Market, Daiso, REI, Aaron Brothers..I don't shops at any of these establishments except for Daiso and even that's limited to when I come here in a working aspect. Management - (SG) They want us (guards) to do more than what they're paying us for. Security Camera's would be great in this shopping center, and help us with our job, but instead we get blamed for not doing patrols when in fact....we do them according to what they want in the contact. Of course within our boundries. (Customer) The really seem to want to just keep their properties going for the $$$ and not take input from the people spending the money in their property. I feel issues in this property would be resolved if they listened to the customers. Overall - The Willows sits off the freeway (680) on Diamond Blvd in Concord Ca. I can see the appeal it would have for some, despite some mention things it's still an ok shopping center. The Sunvalley Mall is on the other side of the freeway and may provide way more options. UFC Gym honestly seems to get the most foot traffic here. But if you're a foodie.."Yelper" the food selections here may be "Yelp" worthy. I'm not going to leave a "Future" mention because I know I will be back here. All I have to say is this.... (Security Guard) Please people if you have valuables, do not leave them sitting on your front/back seats. One way to prevent break in's is by being smart. Leave your things in the trunk of your car. I don't like doing reports or being yelled at. (Customer) Yea....what "I" said.

No matter what time of day it is, the parking lot here is sure to be overcrowded and filled with people who cannot park, drive, or even walk across the damn street right. I never understood how such a large shopping center could have such little parking. The parking lot itself is just constructed so poorly. It doesn't matter what entrance or exit that you take to get into this shopping; you will almost ALWAYS be waiting and sitting in some kind of street traffic, struggling to get in and out. I've seen so many "almost accidents". I actually witnessed a real accident the other day because people just don't have the patience or they just straight up don't know how to drive. The pedestrians are a mess too; walking right in the middle of a speeding car and taking their sweet ass time to get to the other side of the road. But oh myyeee Gawd. The WORST is when... they just walk right in the middle of the damn road... the entire time. Just move your ass to the OTHER side of the road like a normal person! But I swear, they all do it. So, why do I keep coming back? Because many of my favorite places are located right here in the Park N' Shop. I am faithfully addicted to Shan Shan Low and I go there damn near every week because I can't go too long before I'm craving their Chinese food goodness again. Some other great places that I enjoy in this shopping center: -99 cents store -Ranch 99 Market -Kevin's Noodles House -Las Montanas Supermarket -Bobaloca -Rockin' Crawfish -Round Table Pizza -Sunrise Bagels -JoAnn's -Quickly -Burlington Coat Factory ... And those are just to name a FEW. So many great stores... not enough damn parking. But you know what? I keep coming back because I have no other choice. I just hope that someday they'll fix the parking lot and remodel the whole complex because it looks old and rundown.

There's a JC Penny here and like walking around bring back old memories of stores I grew up with with Spenser, Sweet Factory store for sour patch kids candy, Hallmark, and life uniforms. I felt their food court had a strange layout as on first floor all their sweets where there and 2 main food places sushi and newly open Mexican in the mall. I don' t know if this mall is ever packed and it's not totally the mall's fault - buying stuff on line has really killed the brick-and-mortal stores in general and I get it. But holy smokes, the stores here - it's multiple variations of the same crap stores. Who buys this stuff? There are some stores that I absolutely cannot believe make enough money to stay open. They have to pay rent and employee salaries and make some sort of profit and you wonder how it's possible. If you go here and look around, you'll know what stores I'm talking about. I was walking around here yesterday was just amazed at the absolute garbage stores. One "kitsch" store (and there are many) proudly displayed some poster about "stupid people" by its entrance that you could buy - for people to buy to make fun of stupid people - yet literally the only people who would buy this are the people it makes fun of. And you can't walk into these stores because the second you do the employee is on you. Like Blockbuster where every employee had to greet you and see if you need anything. I just want to look around without being bothered but it's not possible in these stores. They have so little people in them, when an employee does get someone they hover. You do still have some good stores - Macys of course, an old standby with good stuff - you can't go wrong with a Macys. Even JC Penneys is still here (I didn't even know they were still around). The Sears finally went out and to no one's surprise, they couldn't care less about that store for years now. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. And the clientele walking around. You have your people of all ages and races which you want to see. California is represented well at this mall and I like that. And of course your thugs always wasting time walking around - disturbs me seeing these guys. I guess the mall can't do anything about them but yeah, they're here. On the plus side, the mall is super clean. I'd like to hope that this mall, one of the malls I've been to for decades will still be around for a long time but honestly, if this thing still exists in three years I'd be shocked.

During this time of year (November), there's also an ice rink that lots of people seem to enjoy. Some family wanted to go to Sephora and man it was packed! Which is not surprising, since we were there on the busy shopping day of the year. I got to do some other browsing at J Crew. It was a short trip overall, but I can easily see people spending hours here if they needed to do some serious shopping. Came here with family because they wanted to do some shopping on Black Friday. Some drivers obviously getting impatient based on their rapid acceleration and sudden braking whenever it appeared that someone was approaching their vehicle or stepped on their brake pedal. From what little we observed, there is a very good mix of business present which is great to see. So many other destination shopping areas are suffering vacancies and closed businesses. I imagine that parking is not such a mess during the day or perhaps on weeknights and yes, this was the day after New Years so more people were probably out and about. Still, had I really understood what the parking situation was like, I would have made reservations for another night. And it wasn't any better when we left at 7pm either.
