Local family Mexican restaurant with traditional fair. Food and service were great. I would definitely dine here again.

I Eat here every time I'm in Ely. It's a great little place. Chips, salsa, and Cabbage right as you are seated. The food is good. Hey man Taco's and beers. It doesn't get any better. The service has been great. "I haven't had any issues. The waitress has a good sense of humor and was very friendly. Your in Ely people! It's a small town. Don't ruin it with bad reviews. The food hits the spot after the 7 hour drive I just had. Some people are just too petty. Stop in and have some shredded beef tacos and beers. And hey, "the beans and rice were pretty damn good too!!! The drinks are good. (What can you expect from a bottle) lol. The margarita was just ok. (No bad enough to remove a star). Nice little spot. And yes I recommend. read more

Excellent service. Clean restrooms. Delicious food. Loved the cabbage relish that comes out with the salsa. Salsa was spicy which I love. My husband ordered some mild salsa. Cheese enchilada with onions was huge and tasty. read more

We stopped in for dinner since it was recommended, but the service was absolutely terrible! We had to get up and get our own menus, the Chili Colorado was so spicy that I could not eat it, however, the Chili Relleno was very good. I then had to ask 5 times for a to go box and their version of Deep Fried Ice Cream is a scoop of Ice Cream in a deep fried tortilla shell. This was our first time to this restaurant and we will try it again to see if it was just an off night! read more

Service was amazing! Prawn fajitas el diablo were great - just the perfect spiciness. Rice was a little undercooked, but hey, we're in the middle of nowhere and the service more than made up for a small misstep. read more

Passing through Ely on a road trip and stopped in to La Fiesta for dinner. I've had Mexican food around the country and even in Mexico City and this place did not disappoint! Chips, salsa, slaw, and waters brought promptly to the table as we sat. I ordered the carne asada and my mom had the combo chicken and steak fajitas. My meal was delicious, steak thinly cut and marinated nicely. The chicken fajitas were hands down some of the best I've ever had! They were marinated in a lime cumin taste and were just SO tasty! Nothing was over cooked and service was great. read more

While visiting Utah on a trip from Florida we drove through Nevada to get through the Bonneville Salt Flats. Stopped here for Easter lunch and it was the best choice ever made. In Florida, Spanish food and seafood is a common part of our diets and this was probably the best Spanish food I've ever ate in my life. I ordered the combo fajitas and the meat was so good and juicy, you could even taste the distinct seasonings and marinades used for the meat. Very respectful staff whom are always topping your water off and asking if you need anything. read more

Can't remember what this place was years ago, but glad that decent Mexican food is now served here. Chips and Salsa are pretty good, and the food is tasty. We ate here twice since it was within walking distance of the motel. Says they have a bar, but 3 stools really don't make something a bar :) read more

not sure who the hostess was but this young lady is helping me get my order. prices online differ from in store, i'm not from Ely so I didn't know that. no big deal. they give me my food and say we don't have any cabbage with this do you want some? and i say "like a side of lettuce?" and she said no it's for the chips. so i ask for some and she goes back, and i can hear here speaking poorly about me to the kitchen for not knowing what she was talking about, loud so everyone could hear her talking to the kitchen. again, not from around here and haven't eaten at this place before. very rude, immature, and unprofessional! and on top of it all, the only part of their food with flavor is the salsa. the burritos and rice were so bland and are NOT authentic mexican food! read more

Only been here once, but it exceeded expectations. Lots of patrons on a Monday night, so that's a good sign. The food was very good and authentic. Very large and good Margarita. Chips and salsa very good. Large selection of almost any Mexican food you'd expect. Service was excellent. We'll be back. read more

The food was good and reasonably priced. We are a family of 7 and our bill was as much as it would be to go to a fast food restaurant. Server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. read more

I am not professing to you that La Fiesta is authentic (although though tamales tell you otherwise.) But for happy, soul-filing food, this is a great spot. The bar pours heavy and the Cadillac margarita will leave you in a happy place. The staff is always friendly but the portions are huge, so bring a friend. read more

Food is good. The waiter was not friendly at all! (Full disclosure we are hunters and were dressed in full Camo) He was not diggin us! :) we did not mean to offend with our choice of hobbies. A paying customer is a paying customer right?!? We paid and tipped well. He was obvious with his distain for us. He took our order, brought the food and never came back again. Mean while he made sure to check on other tables. There were only 4 tables with customers. read more

Three and a half-stars is generous. At least it didn't smell of smoke. People were friendly.

We are from California and have done of the best Mexican food. This place was right up there with them. My dad likes it when he can get ground beef in his enchiladas. The serve was great. Kept our glasses full. If ever in Ely Nevada stop here for a great meal and great service read more

Stopped by for dinner last night. Walked in just before 5pm on a Tuesday night and was promptly seated. Chips, salsa and a chopped cabbage dish was brought out and placed on our table and drink orders taken. The chips and salsa were so fresh tasting and the chips warm. They were so good, we munched away on two bowls before our food came out. Oops My husband ordered the Carne Asada burrito with beans and rice. It arrived piping hot and covered in melted cheese. He liked it. He said the quality of the meat was good and didnt seem grisly. I ordered the Beef fajitas plate with beans and rice. 3 flour tortillas. It arrived sizzling on a cast iron fajita skillet. I ate it with the flour tortillas and it was ok. I tasted the meat without the tortilla, it tasted overly salty and a bit dry. I probably would not order that particular dish for myself again. Over all the staff seemed friendly and attentive. Business was picking up as we were about to leave. I cant say there was anything extra special about the dining experience, but I can say the food and prices were good enough that we would go back when in Ely. read more

The place needs a good cleaning or a Health Inspection. Over priced, food taste like Del Taco. Angie The Buser was very nice and is over worked. If you want plain Hostipal food, La Fiesta is the place for you, if not, drive to the other side of town and try Margaritas read more

I liked this place more than my husband did. Food was "ok", service very friendly. Refried beans terrible. Tamales not good. Enchiladas uninspired. read more

Stopped here for dinner during a road trip. Judging from the exterior/interior decor and the "Please Wate to eat" sign, I had low expectations for the food in this "Mexican Fine Dining" restauraunt. Regardless, we were famished and craved mexican food. My family ordered carne asada, super burrito and arroz con pollo. All three meals were fresh and delicious. We had absolutely no complaints about these three dishes. Deserves 5 stars for the food & customer service, Minus one star for its cleanliness... However, we went on one of their busier nights. read more

Stopped by for dinner while on a road trip. I had the shredded chicken and beef tacos. My wife a combo plate. All the food was excellent, along with the service. They seem to have gotten the word about the cleaning, as the staff was cleaning both the tables and floor as guests would get up to leave. A shredded cabbage dish is served with the chips and salsa. It was very good, give it a try. I live in California and thought the food was excellent by my local standards. read more

Most reviews include "For Ely, Nevada...", and rightly so, there are not a lot of great options in Ely. We drove by the Fiesta three times before deciding to go on. So, my review is that I am certain that we found the best place to eat in Ely. The food was perfectly edible. I've eaten outstanding Mexican food, being from California and now living in Colorado. And while it's not outstanding, it is good, fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed our meal and have no complaints, not about the food or the service, which was very good. If I need to eat in Ely again I will definitely come back. read more

From the outside this place looks alright but entering it's very dismal with poor lighting. There's a lot of seating and it's all very open like a cafeteria. The service is okay, it wasn't busy. I was served some chips and salsa quickly. Along with some Pico de gallo that was mostly cabbage and somewhat yellowed. There was a big chip out the serving dish which I don't think is a good way to serve any meal. I ordered a combo plate which was edible but not remarkable. I don't think I will go back. read more

The La Fiesta is better than Taco Bell... but that's not saying much. The food is very gringo-fied - think tons of cheese and no sabor! I had a cheese enchilada and a bean tostada - neither had much in the way of seasoning, nor did the beans or rice that came with it. The husband had a chicken burrito - it had bone fragments in the filling, and also not much flavor. The complimentary shredded cabbage was tasty, but the salsa was a bit watery and, well, didn't have much flavor. We ordered guacamole, and I don't believe much was added to it other than avocado and tomatoes. I have a special comment about the service - our server seemed to have an "I don't care" approach to work... at one point our guacamole was sort of thrown on the table as he walked by it (while he was en route to chat up some girls at another table). My husband and I were a little stunned - that was a first for us! In summary: if you need to eat while driving through Ely, this wouldn't be the worst place to stop. It's rural Nevada "good". But don't expect any culinary wonders - you really would just be fending off starvation here. read more

This is perhaps the best Mexican food restaurant my husband and I have ever been. He ordered the Carne Asada and I had a combination plate with a cheese enchilada and a tostada. The Carne Asada was flavorful and tender. The enchilada sauce had just the correct amount of spice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Ely. We have also been told they have the best steak in town! read more

We visited the area from Reno and the food at La Fiesta was awesome! However, once we received our food we never saw our server again. I never received one of the items that I ordered and no one ever came back to refill the water and I finally had to ask another worker for the bill. Service was horrible. read more

La Fiesta is a great Mexican Restaurant! I am from the San Diego area where Mexican Restaurants abound and this place rivals any one of them. I had the chile rellano, which is my personal gauge of good Mexican food and it did not disappoint! Also had the "cholesterol free" beans. The name is deceptive. These pinto beans cooked with onions, tomatoes and cilantro are to die for! The name on the menu does not do them justice. Add to that the friendly servers and atmosphere and you can't go wrong. We had such a great experience we dined there two nights in a row. A must stop when you are in Ely! read more

Food. Dining. American-Mexican. Latin American Cultural Paraphernalia. Haunting images of the suspicious disappearance of my wife Sheryl. All of these time honored memories come to mind when I ponder the condition of the fine establishment that is La Fiesta. If you didn't already know, la fiesta is a Spanish term, which has no direct translation. In the same sense that no other human being on this Sheryl-less rock will ever be able to replace my dearly departed, no phrase in the English language can replace the beauty of this Spanish colloquialism. Let's talk about the food. Can we talk about the food? To use a quotation from my angel Sheryl ,"It's alright I guess." She always had such a way with words. These dishes are bursting with queso. They are dripping with enchilada sauce and they are foaming at the mouth with authenticity. The fractured skull of my enchilada is spewing thick globs of beef. if I'm honest, the real reason I eat at this fine cantina is because consuming an inordinate amount of beans smothered in a underpaid workers brow sweat is the only way I can fill the void that has been left in my heart. I miss you Sheryl, dead bitch. read more

Our family met here for dinner while we were visiting. They handled our large party well. No draft beer but plenty of varieties in bottles. I was hoping for albondigas soup but they don't have that. Our server suggested Campechana on the menu. It was so impressive. I'm not a fishy soup lover and was worried that since it had shrimp and octopus it would be fishy. Not one bit! It was delicious and I'm hoping to find a recipe to recreate this at home! They also serve the most interesting salsa made with cabbage. Delish! We'll visit La Fiesta again the next time we are in Ely. read more

Nice meal in Ely. Friendly service and above-average Mexican food. We had the chalupa plate (with chicken) and a Chile Colorado burrito. Excellent rice and refried beans with a distinct (and delicious) red chili flavor. The strawberry margarita was large but not all that awesome. Excellent salsa and a unique and yummy cabbage salad with chips. Very friendly waitress and bus-person who were both attentive and engaged even on a reasonably busy Saturday evening. If you have a small to normal appetite, think about ordering a la carte - the portions are large and with an entree with beans and rice, you'll either be uncomfortably full or have leftovers. I would definitely eat there again. It's nothing spectacular, but it's good, well-executed Mexican food and good service. read more

It was my first night in town and I had been driving all day, living on snacks, because I didn't see anyplace that looks like it had lunch food I'd like. All of the parking spaces were full, but I wasn't daunted and parked half-way down the block and walked back. Glad I did! The place was busy but the staff seemed to have everything under control. I ordered a Margarita and it was delicious! The Carne Asada was likewise yummy; the guacamole served with the Carne Asada was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive without being pushy. I would definitely come back to La Fiesta again, and encourage others to do so, as well! read more
