I needed to…read morespace out all my paellas and octopuses with some burgers and ramen in between - so hello Bernie's. Bernie's is one of the better options located near the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. But it really is only one of the better ones because a lot of other "American" establishments are bad. You really make due with what you have. Their milkshakes are good. Nice and creamy but not too heavy. I had the chocolate milkshake and was a fan. My GF had their strawberry cheesecake milkshake and it was good, but tasted more like just strawberry than strawberry cheesecake. T-bone steak tasted similar to a decent american diner and it hit the spot. Their ribs are absolutely horrible though. They were overcooked, dry, bland, and slathered in a bad BBQ sauce. Do come if you miss home, but don't come expecting an amazing meal.

We couldn't eat it. - The fries were as bland as fries can be. No seasoning, and like rubber. - The patatas bravas were literally just plain steak fries. Also no seasoning but most importantly no bravas sauce or aioli. - The banana milkshake was mostly milk. Vanilla wasn't bad. - Banana split was pretty good, but it's hard to mess up scoops of ice cream and toppings. The woman who took my order wasn't rude by any means, but she was cold and almost seemed bothered to be dealing with an American even though I spoke mostly in Spanish. If you're really desperate for American food in Barcelona, I guess you can find worse, but if you have time, I'd go elsewhere. For what it's worth, the atmosphere was cool. Good music and aesthetic. Place was clean.

Fun little American beer bar style place in Barcelona…read more I've been here twice, and enjoyed both times! The beer selection is vast and great, I've enjoyed their wheat beer, as well as lagers. The wings are good too, my favs were garlic Parmesan, buffalo & buffalo mild. I love that they offer free water lol This is a great place for groups of about 4-8 anything more and you may not be able to fit on the same table. It's a fun pregame place, and I recommend it.

This is definitely a great spot for anyone into American beer hall vibes while in Barcelona - plenty of seating and TV's throughout to watch games or other things. You order up at the counter, and we just got a pitcher of beer when we went later at night, as the food service had ended. I do kind of wish we could've had the chance to still get some food, as other tables that had some from earlier looked really tasty. Nevertheless, the vibes were great and the beers hit the spot here. What more can I say?! It was bright, airy, and comfortable inside - perfect for hanging out! I think this is a great option - especially for American tourists, but also for just anyone that wants to have a spot that's chill and fun to hang out at. I definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience as a solo diner, couldn't recommend enough!…read more There was a very scary looking line when I arrived that looked like it would take hours, but if you are alone and willing to stand at the bar, you can definitely get seated within 30mins as it moves fairly quickly (though I'm unsure about larger parties). The vibe inside is incredible, and there is so much to take in. The servers are all very friendly and chatty, and if you're solo dining like I was, you definitely will not be bored! For the food, I just asked my server what he recommended and kept getting dishes until I was full. The food was super flavorful, fresh, and delicious without being too heavy or oily. The calamari is a must and my favorite dish, but you really can't go wrong!

There was already a small line but we were able to be seated at opening. It's quite small inside with some tables but if you don't get a table you can eat while standing at the bar. We also saw two tables outside as well. I highly recommend the squid and codfish omelette those were my absolute favorite dishes and deserve a 5 star!!! Also ordered the anchovies as they looked popular however they were a bit too salty and fishy for me. Dishes come out fat and service is good!

Note, if you make reservations via the fork you can get 20% off the a la carte menu. Eva was our server and she was wonderful. She checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything and would refill our water. Shestarted us off with a drink called chica mirada which my friend said tasted like potpourri but in a good way because it was flavorful. Then we were brought out bread with oil and this unique salt that made the bread pop. I ordered the duck meatball with pears and hazelnut praline for my entree. I think there was five per order. It was not very filling but very tasty and moist. The pear and praline added a touch of sweetness. For dessert, my friend and I split the Chocolate and Caramel Puffs. It was delectable. The puffs were warm and soft and the chocolate just melted right into my mouth. The service and food was great. Highly recommend.

Chicken croquets, Beef tortellini, foie gras, steak tartare, and the fillet were all superb. The foie gras was my favorite. Well executed. I am often disappointed when I order it Our server, Romaysa, was extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. She gave us several tourist tips too. Desserts did not disappoint. We had the Mousse de creme catalone and the carob and almond coulant. Both were very good. The coulant was worth the wait. It takes 15 minutes to prepare-worth it!

Seriously. A London-based friend recommended this beachy La Barceloneta spot to Jamie W. and me. It's just off the promenade next to the beach. The menu consisted of familiar T.G.I.Friday's-style eats. The eats seemed like the ideal match for the umbrella-covered outdoor cafe. We must've been in a poultry mood because we shared two chicken items. First up was the satisfying 13€ 'Chickens' Sandwich, where in a rustic Catalan bread roll, they stuffed chicken breast marinated in herbes de Provence, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped egg, and arugula (photo: https://yelp.to/XQyWywmMXD). We followed up the sandwich with the 9€ Crispy Chicken Fingers made with panko, corn flakes, and various spices. They came with a couple of dipping sauces, honey mustard and chili aioli (photo: https://yelp.to/DF4_8fIZMT). We didn't think we'd have McNuggets on our vacation, but they were good probably because they had that extra crunch from the Kellogg's cereal. Hey, it wasn't culinary art, but it worked.
