The next day I called down to reception to ask what was going on and was told it had not been possible. Zero proactivity. Service in Italy has in general been a hot mess this summer, but it takes no time at all to reply to an email.

The bathroom is narrow but very nice and the shower has so many options for water flow and pressure. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, they answered every question we had, and gave us plenty of tips and recommendations. Like this one: if you need your laundry done, there's a place around the corner called Arcoíris/Rainbow. It's cash only, and the closest ATM is down the road a few minutes called Gym Tonic. It's €25 and they will deliver it to your hotel! We only ate breakfast once, but it has lots of options and variety and you can order custom omelets and coffee. The pasta was super al dente, even by Italy's standards. The sauce was zesty and a little loose. Dessert was a kind of trifle, with fresh fruit and sweet cream in a jar. I will never forget my days here and Hotel Poseidon topped it off with a relaxing, beautiful and comfortable stay. They made us feel like family :)
