I had to chase daily for 2 days before receiving a response, which came on a Saturday. "We'll try but the vets are now closed"... yeah because you sat on it until a weekend. I then had to chase again when I got to the hotel and was told that the girl who was dealing with it was not in, and would be in the following morning. The next day I called down to reception to ask what was going on and was told it had not been possible. Zero proactivity. Service in Italy has in general been a hot mess this summer, but it takes no time at all to reply to an email.

My husband chose the beef ravioli, and I selected the truffle gnocchi with walnuts. My husband's ravioli were housemade and extremely tasteful. However, I would order this gnocchi Every single time, it was that good! The shaved truffle on top was the perfect edition! This will hands-down be one of my favorite meals ever! There's plenty of seats in the shade and they also have a small hot tub by the garden area separate from the pool. I really liked the tiny libraries and think that should be an option at all hotels in the States! I traded the books I brought and took new ones. Room is okay. They don't service it very well, sometimes only just making the bed and not taking out the garbage. I also felt like the shower was a smidge small and the folded up shower seat was discolored, so a bit off-putting. Everything is also so high up! Like the towel hooks and the toiletries. It's more work for us shorter people to reach! They also offer complimentary service around specific Praiano bus stops, so a bit nice... however, it's quicker at times to just walk it yourself.

We were greeted with a bubbly and individual charcuterie boards, with more meats than cheeses. The main was a small serving of big tubed pasta (like rigatoni, but bigger...a *bigatoni*, if you will...ha, see what I did there? BIGatoni. Hey, where are you going) in a red sauce. The pasta was super al dente, even by Italy's standards. The sauce was zesty and a little loose. Dessert was a kind of trifle, with fresh fruit and sweet cream in a jar. Each course was paired with a wine, naturally. The wines were good and flavorful, and everyone at the table enjoyed the pairings. I learnt it the hard way because the first night we only had one room card and my boyfriend went down to the car to get something and all the lights except for two over the dresser went out and it was that period so until he came back with the room card there was no electricity, I couldn't even call the front desk because the phone didn't work period so I guess that's a good thing as for saving electricity. Our room is on the water and the views are gorgeous. The hotel is beautiful, upscale, modern, still with old world charm. It is built into a cliff any boggles my mind how it was even built. Dash was an excellent server and very attentive. The snacks they gave with our cocktails were also delicious. The cocktails were good. Of note, in Italy, cocktails are just basic mixed drinks but they were still well made and tasted delicious so that's what matters. They also had an extensive cocktail list which was nice as most of the Amalfi Coast doesn't have an extensive cocktail list. The view here is gorgeous. We got a free upgrade the first night to a suite, beautiful balcony views and large room! They moved our luggage the following night to our reserved room and I loved our view there as well. We dined at Il Tridente the first night and food was superb! Make sure you try their deliza limone! I will never forget my days here and Hotel Poseidon topped it off with a relaxing, beautiful and comfortable stay. They made us feel like family :)
