The weather was terrible all 3 nights here during our honeymoon. It was still spectacular. The service, the well thought out touches, THE GROUNDS-my God, I can only imagine this place in beautiful weather. It is truly a slice of heaven. Side note: it's very quite when the weather is bad. Come ready to play a board game or cards. Sign up early upon arrival for the classes they offer. We missed every one of them. The distance from the town is worth the views and beauty. The town it's self is touristy but still worth seeing. We enjoyed catching the car to dinner one night and took the hotel water shuttle during a few hours of smoother seas. The restaurant by the beach is excellent and remains the favorite of our trip so far. Even with rainy conditions they make it comfortable and fun. I loved every minute of this place and could return over and over again and still not see all the beautiful nooks. There is a tiny small chapel They can bring in a tennis pro for a lesson. Definitely have breakfast once in your room. Thank you, to all the staff for a lovely and romantic, even if rainy, honeymoon.

I call this "Heaven on Earth" the view from the terrace@ Il San Pietro in Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

My review is way overdue, this is probably the MOST SPECTACULAR place I have ever stayed in! I say spectacular based on the overall experience, 1. Beauty/setting is out of this world! 2. Culinary 3. Service 4. Friendliness 5. Luxury I stayed in Il San Pietro for 10 days while i was traveling in Europe by myself, I was in Florence when a friend that lived in Positano told me I should stay there. I quickly looked it up and booked myself there. It was a true "Royal" experience from the moment the hotel car picked me at the train station in Naples. The 1-hour drive to Positano through the Amalfi Coast was spectacular, the Chauffer was very friendly, and informational, the perfect welcome to the Amalfi Coast. Once I arrived at the hotel, I was in heaven, the luxury and yet simplicity of the hotel, the friendly and warm staff makes you feel at home right away. I was quickly invited by the Chef, who was a friend of my friend, (who is a food/travel writer), to be his guest at the restaurant that night. The Michelin star cuisine is OUTSTANDING! My friend joined me for dinner that night, and it was probably one of the best gastronomical experiences of my life and believe me I have had many fantastic dinners around the world! The Chef served us a multiple course dinner that started with the freshes local seafood caught that day. As a first course we were served uni (sea urchin), then octopus, black ink risotto and ended with lobster. My room was gorgeous, I truly felt like a "Princippessa" surrounded by beauty, luxury and all the little details I love...soft linens, great mattress, wonderful soaps and oils, a wonderful bath tub...and all while I overlooked at the Amalfi Coast from up high....from the top of the world! I can't wait to take my husband there for our wedding anniversary!

Impressed by the service and care of this restaurant, they noted my companion was a little cold so they gave him a Shaw.

Must go here! Extraordinary views with great service and little stuffy and quiet but worth it. This restaurant is actually located in a prestigious hotel. I enjoyed a fish dish that was made with white truffles and champagne, probably the best fish dinner I've ever had. For dessert, I was recommended by our boat captain to indulge in their traditional sweet dish called Baba. Baba has a strong taste of Rum but it is a perfect mixture and not overpowering.

Positano and especially this hotel SHOULD be on everyone's bucket list!! Well, I suppose if you don't like breathtaking beauty, great service, fresh food picked from their garden, quaint and lovely rooms, this might not be your thing! This place is seriously the BOMB! Just make sure you REconfirm your reservation and have the proof with you. My hubby makes a travel binder with every email, every confirmation number, who he spoke with etc. It seems Americans are sometimes forgotten abroad.. The second year we arrived, we were told the specific room we wanted was unavailable. We said we confirmed. He said we have to RECONFIRM. My brilliant hubby pulled out the Reconfirmation letter and it was written by none other than the gentleman with whom we were speaking. Sweeeeeeet!!

My husband chose the beef ravioli, and I selected the truffle gnocchi with walnuts. My husband's ravioli were housemade and extremely tasteful. However, I would order this gnocchi Every single time, it was that good! The shaved truffle on top was the perfect edition! This will hands-down be one of my favorite meals ever! The view is absolutely breathtaking, we had the restaurant to ourselves because we chose to eat early that night and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect beginning to an amazing trip.

Our bags were taken in from the car, we were offered cappuccinos, and we were even able to check in early. The room was fresh, clean, and really pretty. The bathroom is narrow but very nice and the shower has so many options for water flow and pressure. The bed was really comfy and they gave us complimentary sleep kits with ear plugs and masks, which we happily used. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, they answered every question we had, and gave us plenty of tips and recommendations. Like this one: if you need your laundry done, there's a place around the corner called Arcoíris/Rainbow. It's cash only, and the closest ATM is down the road a few minutes called Gym Tonic. It's €25 and they will deliver it to your hotel! We only ate breakfast once, but it has lots of options and variety and you can order custom omelets and coffee. We did eat at the hotel restaurant M'ama and really enjoyed it. The food was great, the view was spectacular, the wine was delicious, and it was so nice to walk back to the room right after dinner!

We booked because of the…read morereviews stating it was a family owned hotel where you are treated like family and everyone was absolutely right! Just to start off, pulling up to the hotel it is covered in beautiful blooming bougainvillea and lush flowers. The property is amazing, so small, cozy, clean and well decorated. The rooms were perfect. So clean and fresh and I loved the theming. They have really great AC, the bathroom and tile were beautiful, and they even have colored lights in the shower. The bed was very comfortable. Best part is the balcony, which opens up to a scenic view of the cliffside and the ocean. Breath taking. The family runs everything there, from the front desk to the restaurant. Alecia and Frederico were always staffing the front desk. Alecia would even come outside to greet us when we came in and always inquired how our days was. She was a delight to speak with and always helped us with recommendations. Frederico was so fun to talk to and felt so genuine in everything he did. They assisted us in booking everything we wanted, from a scooter rental to transportation needs. Literally a one stop shop of everything! The best service I have received staying at hotels... The hotel has a shuttle car that they will use to take you to Praiano or Positano any time of the day until 11pm. Luigi Sandra or Daniela will be driving you! They make nice conversation along the way and will get you there fast and safe! That was literally a lifesaver to have that amenity, so we took it into town every day then took other transportation from there. Praiano is a nice 10-minutes walk away but was needed to go to Positano. Now, the highlight of the hotel and experience was the restaurant. It is not open to the public which was so nice to have quiet and purposeful dinners. We though we would be eating in the town each night, but Daniela's cooking at the restaurant had us eating there every night of the stay!! Daniela, Luigi's daughter, does all of the cooking and is a trained chef. They have an amazing menu and are flexible to customize and make off menu items. Every dish we had there was so delicious and flavorful. Best part was the service and not having to fight any crowds. You will dine on the terrace and look out into an amazing view of the ocean and the town. Daniela and Genaro made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Genaro delighted us with little surprises of dessert and Limoncello after our meals on some occasions. He was a pleasure to talk to. All of the entrees, drinks, and dessert were above 5 star quality. Michelin quality!! Why would we want to eat anywhere else!? And just wait for the breakfast.... Amazing and filling! Overall, this was literally top 2 of hotels I have ever stayed at in my entire life, maybe even the best. I loved every moment being here and i hated the fact that we actually had to leave! I could have spent our entire Italy vacation here at Hotel Pellegrino and on the Amalfi coast. 100/10 experience!

The owner, Luigi and his family went out of their way to make sure we had more than what we needed to make our Amalfi Coast holiday memorable. The shuttle service to Positano made it much more convenient than driving our rental car. We visited during April, and the Jasmine was in full bloom. The vines surrounded our balcony overlooking the sea, and the floral aroma was intoxicating. Nearby lemon trees in bloom also added sweetness to the springtime fresh air. The in-house restaurant does a wonderful breakfast for hotel guests. Dinner is also open to hotel guests only, and with the quality of food, a wide selection of local and regional wines and a full bar, it was one of our favorites of our trip. Some cooler evenings made the fireplace a cozy and much appreciated bonus. We enjoyed the restaurant so much we decided to visit a 2nd time during our short stay. We also visited another boutique hotel to charge our electric vehicle before we left Praiano. The people there were very helpful and friendly as well, but we can't wait to return to Hotel Pellegrino. What a find!

Such a nice touch. They always had a smile on their face and welcomed us every morning and night when we saw them. The breakfasts at the hotel were high quality and delicious. Their homemade yogurt is something I will miss!! We also ate dinner there one night which was decent! We too enjoyed the sun deck and loved the views the hotel had. I could not recommend this hotel enough and can't wait to come back. We loved that Praiano too was away from the hustle and bustle and more quiet than some of the other Amalfi Coast towns. There was a great little bar across the street, as well as a fantastic restaurant- La Strada. Only caveat is that the hotel is across the way from a church whose bells ring every 15 minutes from about 6:30am-12am. It became a little incessant in the early morning hours but nothing the hotel can do about that. The shower was also very small. Overall though, an amazing stay. Grazie!y
