Biggest surprise on our 3 week boat trip around the area. The menu was eclectic and surprising. Our waiter was efficient, clear, and concise while staying in the background. The restaurant was classy but understated.

Truthfully, I go for their crepes, but my friends are always bey happy with their other menu choices too. The staff is friendly and we never feel rush to eat & leave. This isn't a place you need to really dress up to feel you fit in. However, you also could if the mood suits you & still not feel out of place. Truly, I am happy that they even have tables on the main level that accommodate those with mobility aids. However, that being said, I am struggling to recall if there would be a easy enough way for a wheelchair or even a walker to make it to the main door. I'll have to remember to focus on that long enough before my next crepe eating bliss hits. As Cowichan Bay is a popular area to stop for meals, do plan to go in advance for parking. As even if there are a few spots for the restaurant, there isn't enough space to accommodate the full restaurant. If you are able to find a spot at the restaurant or are double parking at the restaurant (which is apparently allowed), it is good to let the server know what vehicle is yours. Beyond more than mention "I've parked my vehicle here", so a server can notify you if people need to be let out of the space if they're leaving before you're done. If you don''re not lucky enough to grab a parking spot right at the restaurant, you might have to go far up the road (sometimes almost to the hotel) or down the road (towards the parking area by the pubic washrooms) to reach any parking options. Definitely try it out if you are looking fit an option in Cowichan Bay. I know I'm looking forward to many more future happy crepe eating moments here with friends.

I came by around 4 PM on a Monday and found the space quiet with few customers, which was perfect for getting a bit of work done since they also offer free Wi-Fi. The staff was friendly and efficient in preparing and serving my food. I really enjoyed my breakfast egg, cheddar, and sausage crepe. Note that they automatically charge a 10% service fee. Parking was easy, with both a parking lot and garage available around the plaza.

The interior is small, though they have additional seating outside. Many diners got to-go orders, which is surprising since crepes get soggy easily. Anyway, service was fine. The guy tried to be courteous but failed; I won't go into details. Prices are a touch higher than the nearby place; they include a salad to differentiate for the savory crepes. I wish creperies differentiate how they make the base crepe depending on savory vs. sweet. Savory ones benefit from more oil to enhance the seared flavor, while sweet ones don't. Their base crepe is good, not great. The Food: Merguez, $20 - 2.5 Stars This crepe has spicy Moroccan lamb sausage with onions, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and peppers. The overall size is modest. Hubby orders lamb often but was disappointed with these lamb sausages. He said they mostly taste like little smokies. Not a complimentary description. Norvegienne, $21 - 3.5 Stars This crepe has smoked salmon, spinach, capers, red onion, and crème fraiche. The salmon didn't taste as smoked as I would like. They are similar to the plain lox variety that might be on a bagel, which is not as flavorful. On the plus side, I thought this is a well-stuffed crepe. The included salad for both is a mixed greens with tomatoes, feta, parmesan, olives, tomatoes, and range dressing. I wish restaurants spill out their ingredients on menus. I don't like cold cheese; I could have saved them some money and tell them to skip it on mine.

I love this restaurant. We have lived in Bellingham for a short while and will be moving soon; but…read moreeven when we do we will definitely be returning as we have had nothing but good experiences here. The food is prepared with quality ingredients that are loaded with flavor and it is is obvious that the preparation is thought out and that the owner is passionate about sharing her recipes to the world. Ambiance: Everything feels home-like and traditional. It's cozy and well taken care of. The service is always good. Everyone here is friendly and attentive. We are vegetarian and normally I don't just bring that up but I am especially impressed by the staff remembering this about us. A good example was this morning our waitress saw us look at the specials board for the soup and making our day by letting us know that they had forgotten to put up a second option available that didn't have meat. There are so many places that would not care to take that extra step to please their customers and would have a "take it or leave it" response to people with dietary concerns. Because this is so common these days- Magdalenas stands out. We have tried a lot of different dishes here and theyve all been good-; Turkish cilbur, mushroom sandwich, breakfast bowl, the entree salads, and their omelets are especially good (I've had bad luck with omelets not being good from other restaurants and Magdalenas made me a fan again). The soups are perfect for the Washington weather. I am not much of a sweets person but their scones are perfect, as well as the donuts, cinnamon rolls etc. As far as drinks- the seasonal winter tea hits the spot. Mint or lavender lemonades have been good during warmer days and various espresso based beverages to choose from. Though I don't normally drink, their mulled spiced wine sounds very good and I hope to make an exception to try it before we move from here.

Fast, friendly service. We each ordered crepe #2 (with Sautéed veggies, mushrooms, fontina cheese,…read moregarlic, and yogurt with fresh dill, with buckwheat batter for $1 extra). Also, we shared a small order (6) of mushroom and cabbage pierogi. Our order came in less than 10 minutes. We loved the crepes. Though they were expensive ($18.50 each, +$1), they were unique and delicious. We enjoyed the pierogi, the taste was unlike any other we've had. But at $3 each, they were not worth the price to us. We thought they'd be a bit bigger and have more filling for that price. It's basically an $18 appetizer (and a small one at that). Our total lunch came to nearly $60 before tax and tip, yet we left a bit hungry. It was worth having the experience, but for me, the cost wasn't commensurate with the amount.
