On a recent trip to Madrid, my friends and I discovered this little gem hidden within the labyrinth of Madrid's La Latina neighbourhood.
This place is a pretty cool and laid back tapas bar, teeming with locals (always a good sign). After trying several tapas bars in Madrid, this place was our favourite by far. We ordered dish after dish, accompanied by SEVERAL glasses of wine and our entire bill was 34 Euros! For a late dinner for 3 people, that's pretty eff-ing good.
We ordered: guacamole tostados topped with cured duck, several varieties of jamon plates, chorizo and cheese platters, patatas bravas topped with grilled octopus (our absolute favourite - we ordered it a few times that night), a delicious chocolate dessert...to name a few.
Every dish was delicious and far exceeded our expectations both in presentation and cost. We still rave about this place! The chef was even gracious enough to share his recipes with us - probably because we shamelessly begged him for them.
Though the food was incredible, the biggest shock was the bill, we expected to pay a small fortune for what we ate, but were pleasantly surprised that it only cost 34 euros. Love, love, love this place. read more
