Came in to get some pan dulce at about 8:00AM so it was still nicely stocked. I hadn't been back in about 15 or so years since getting a custom ordered cake. Recalled that the bread was good but not great. Be careful of the extra steep driveway. My car at angle still hit the driveway going in and I did not want to risk further damage so I parked in the street. Went in and was greeted. Looked clean. The trays were stacked at the entrance and had traces of crumbs so I don't think they are washed between transactions...Lots of pinsas. Good selection but some of the common panes were not offered such as Ojo De Pancha or the pan that looks like a concha but has more of the sugar on top, and cema. The conchas that are offered are medium sized. Bigger than minis but smaller than the grocery store options. I asked if they had minis and was told they are made to order for catering. Had some breads I hadn't seen before and picked some out that are pictured to try. My favorite of the new tries was the very thin one towards the bottom. It had a piloncillo taste! The elites were also medium sized and the orange filling that is sometimes skimped on by some bakeries. It was good but could have used some more canela/spice just like the concha. Concha was good but was missing a little more flavor. Oreja was on the smaller size but good. The majority of the bread is $1.25 and some is $1.50. A bit much for how much smaller the breads are compared to the other local panaderias. Will be going back to try the tamales next time and get some more of that thing bread. read more

This little hidden wonder is the best panaderia in Corona. They're super accommodating, friendly and welcoming. I've ordered mini conchas from this place and they're the perfect size and very affordable. Today I also bought some of their menudo... best around, hands down. Stopped by the other morning to check out this bakery, I would definitely not come back to this bakery to purchase pan dulce. I chose 3 different types of pan Dulce's and and some bollio and they were all stale like they had been there for a few days. I'm used to pan Dulce being soft but this one was all stale. I have to say though good job on having it displayed and all organized to make it seem it was fresh. I do have to say their fresh squeezed orange juice was good. But I will definitely stick to my other panaderia right up the street that offers fresh pan dulce daily. read more

This mom and pop bakery is thriving. The lady who served me was nice. The menu was in Spanish, but she told me in English what they have. I love the authenticity little grab and go shop. There are no tables and chairs, but they do have menudo on Saturdays which I'll have to come back to try. I ordered a pollo tamale and champorado for my breakfast for $6 and it tasted pretty good. Went at 5 am on a Thursday, because every time I went after 8 am, tamales were sold out. Wanted to try because they had so many good reviews. Got pork and green chile/cheese--Very disappointed. Great little hidden gem when looking for your concha fix! They sell tamales, sweet bread, sandwiches, hot coffee, atole, and custom cakes! I got the the guava, pumpkin, pineapple, and strawberry empanadas! These are delicious! You gotta try! They open at 4am and they are pretty empty by 10am so get there early! I came here to get some sweet bread before work. I went into the more info tab, and it says they accept credit cards and Apple Pay. I walk in and get my bread, and come to find out they don't even accept cards! Plus they don't even have a variety of bread! This place seriously sucks! This little hole in the wall Mexican bakery is really good. It is located in a residential area so it is kind of hard to find. The inside of the bakery is really small. All the baked goods are inside of a glass case on the back wall. The people who work there let you take a tray and get the baked goods out of the case yourself. The baked goods at La Colimense are all made fresh daily in the kitchen in the back of the bakery. I have tried almost everything that this place has to offer (they do not have a huge selection) and I'm happy to say that I was very happy with it all. The sugar cookies were big, fresh and soft. They have an amazing jalapeño cheese loaf. It is stuffed with lots of fresh Mexican cheese and tons of real spicy jalapeños. My favorite thing on the menu is a pumpkin filled empanada. It is fabulous. The crust is nice and flaky and the pumpkin filling is amazing. It really tastes like a homemade pumpkin pie. The prices here are wonderful. Everything is about a dollar or less. Even the huge jalapeño loaf is only one dollar. The people who work here are really friendly. Since it is family owned and operated I see the same two women and one little girl every time I go. The reason I gave this place a four star review instead of a five star is the selection of baked goods is really small and at times they take a long time to replace items in their glass case after they run out. I highly recommend this place to anyone who like home made Mexican baked goods. Make sure and try a pumpkin empanada. I know you will love it. read more

This place is great! Have gotten my last three cakes from here. I have gotten the tres leches cake with fresh strawberry and banana filling. This is a whole in the wall place, I was not expecting much but boy was I wrong. Best tres leches I have ever had. The cakes were very moist and it were not overly sweet. In all three parties all the guest were asking me where I had bought the cake. Now besides the amazing taste they do an amazing job decorating it, they really try. They exceeded my expectation. This is place is not bad, if you don't come here early like before 8:00am, there's not really that much Mexican bread selection to choose from, you can get conchas but that's about it. Came here Saturday morning the menudo is so good as well as their champurrado. I've gotten pan dulce (conchas) and they have been either soft or hard. I would give it more stars but the customer service is lacking, I was waiting to be charged but the cashier decided to talk on the phone rather than put the caller on hold (she was talking to a relative) she just told me my total handed my change and walked away.
