My husband and I stopped in to grab a quick bite before our flight. The area was nice and bright and our server (didn't get her name) was welcoming. There was nice music playing while we ate. The food wasn't the best Mexican I've had but it was filling and okay. I got a burrito bowl and my husband got carnitas tacos which he said was okay. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know I love a good margarita with a sugar rim. La Chula did not have sugar rims so I settled for salt. The margarita wasn't bad, but definitely not worth the $23.99 price. As much as I would have liked another, spending almost $50 on two was not happening. It wasn't even a fishbowl glass which are used in some Mexican restaurants for a much cheaper price. I would say the meal price was okay for airport prices. I'm sure if I took a flight out of LaGuardia again, I would eat here again but might forego the margarita. Happy to see there was an outlet at my table to charge phone before my flight. read more

The service also was horrible I received montero cheese instead of queso and then when I went to ask for queso they said this is the only cheese they have. My aunt got a chips and cheese and got queso with it, cold. My cheese wasn't even melted. The seating was also bad. Great food and efficient service. The food is actually objectively good not airport good! I got the mix two tacos ($10) carnitas and mushrooms, and elote ($5) which came on a cob. Been to the new and improved version of this terminal a few times now, and this food stall always stood out as a decent sit-down option. Still a fair amount of bar seating on a Tuesday afternoon, so got a seat and looked at the scannable menu. Like everywhere else in the airport, the prices are high. Decided to keep it light by ordering Chips & Salsa ($8) to go along with a can of Fat Tire ($10). Salsa wasn't too bad, not fresh but it had a nice kick to it. Chips are your basic fare, thin and warm. Was able to chill there for a while without being pressured into another drink. I really enjoyed my stop at La Chula! At first I was looking for a quick bite before my flight, but then my flight was delayed so I took my time. The service was great-- a special shoutout to Ricardo, who was super nice the entire time. He went so far as to check what was happening at my gate nearby (regarding the delay) when I was getting settled. They have a nice ambiance with Mexican music, and from my seat I could watch the sunset / planes. I got a burrito bowl and elote, both of which were very good (at least by airport food standards). Terrible service. Lady was extremely rude. Beer served in a hot glass. They were out of half the menu. The vibe makes you think you're getting authentic Mexican food; unfortunately my $11 quesadilla was room temp and the cheese wasn't melted (which I'm pretty sure is the whole point?). It's a shame places like this exist and will continue to exist because everyone who comes here is just passing through. Lachula is a good spot to hang out before your flight takes off at terminal B at LaGuardia airport. The tacos are decent and it is a cool spot for being such a super tiny restaurant. It can be difficult to get. A spot at the bar but it helps if you are traveling alone. The tables do turn as everyone has a flight to catch. The staff was pretty cool and the food comes fast which is a good thing. read more

I ordered the burrito bowl with the carne asada for $14.50. Ingredients seemed fresh, and flavor was mild-good. Fresh greens, guacamole, black beans, rice, plenty of carne asada... Not over seasoned. Portion was very satisfying. Service was fast. I didn't stay for a cocktail, but I do fly through Terminal B enough that I wouldn't mind a 2-hour layover at the bar now that I know about La Chula. Check out their menu online. It looks like you can order online, which would be great to order your food as your plane taxis to the terminal. read more

I was beyond relieved when I saw La Chula tucked in a corner down an arm of the B concourse. I had their Tacos De Huevo with their homemade salsa. It was delicious (so was the cup of coffee). If this is the location by gate 42, our takeout meal was great. We ordered chicken and beef tacos with rice/beans and chips/guacamole. Unfortunately they ran out of guacamole and gave us a refund on the chips, which were great with our rice and beans. This restaurant was the only gluten friendly restaurant in the airport. The tacos are served in corn tortillas and taste really good. The rice and beans were just black beans and rice with chicken bouillon powder. It tastes really good paired with the chips and we were both satisfied with our tacos and chips. Would I buy food here again? Absolutely! read more

I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla. It was $15, and what I basically received was a taco. I can't imagine how small the tacos are if this is what they consider a quesadilla. While the quesadilla did taste good (it could use more seasoning and/or sauce), $15 is EXCESSIVE for it. The food is great. The service is horrible and inconsistent. It's as if they play favorites with their customers. When I first sat at the bar of this restaurant I was never approached or asked how I could be helped. It was about 5 minutes of trying to make eye contact. So I left. After searching through the other options, I decided to return. Still, took WAY too long to be acknowledged. But it finally happened. I asked for coffee and a glass of ice water. The customers to my right ordered at the same time. Their coffee came with cream and the little box of sugar packets. Mine was just offered black. I had to ask for milk and then ask my neighbors to take their sugar. I never received the ice water. My neighbors were also offered flatware wrapped in a normal napkin. I had to ask for flatware and was thrown a "to go" set wrapped in plastic. Food was delivered. The breakfast torta. Pretty delicious actually! No complaints on food quality. Being a hydroI NEEDED water. Finally got someone's attention to ask for it and an extra napkin (the to go napkin wasn't cutting it). I was offered 2 of the tiny square "bar napkins" and a small lowball glass of water holding about 6 ounces. Everyone else was served pint glasses of water. I chugged the water, was never offered any more. Was also never offered any more coffee (though I have no clue if it's free refills on coffee or not) I was obviously done with my plate having thrown the napkins, and other garbage on it. Never was asked if I was done or if they could take it away. I had to just ask for my check. VERY poor experience. Will definitely give another chance as the food was delicious, but not if I see the same staff working again. read more

I was a few hours early for my flight. I looked around for food and saw a cool Mexican restaurant. It has a nice round bar in the center of it. I got the chicken and steak tacos. I also got some chips and salsa. I did get it to go as they have a few tables but there wasn't a spot for charging so a took a seat near by. Service and food were fast. This place is a joke. As has been well documented by other posters, the service is horrific. Horrific. My wife commented that everyone who worked there obviously hates their job. Kill time not serving customers. Getting past the terrible service - I found the check out even more problematic. Amanda was working the bar and delivered my check. I looked at it and noticed a $2.00 additional charge for salsa. The chips, salsa and guacamole was on the menu for $8.95. I ordered that. The additional $2.00 for salsa was puzzling. I asked Amanda and she said you ordered more salsa. I corrected her. I did not. Then she spun a story that the pricing on the menu changed. Puzzled, I asked for clarification and she gave me a new check with the charge removed. Amanda was not apologetic.
