Used these guys for yard care a few times. I can't remember why I chose them. But they are expensive AF and also their customer service is pretty terrible. Two stars since they did good work cleaning up my yard. Goes like this-- used them for a one-time cleanup one time years ago. I do have a big yard and after monsoon season it is weed city. I had had other people do it before that I don't think were 'landscaping companies' that did the job for about $200/$250. They quoted me $350. I said go ahead and do it since it was more convenient and faster than looking elsewhere. Fast forward a couple years and I reached out to see if they would do regular maintenance every 4 months. Through a few back and forth emails, the lady responded that they would only do every 2 months, but was pretty snarky about it. But fine. Hired them to come out every two months for $145/visit since that was pretty cheap in comparison to the $350 bill before. Then I get a bill for $475!!!?!?! Apparently they had sent me two quotes-- one fore the initial clean up and the $145 for following visits, but I didn't see the first one not knowing there were two separate ones. My jaw dropped. How could it possibly be that f'ing expensive?! I emailed back and asked how it could be that much more than the one time visit before?! They said there was more work to be done, and that's why, but dropped it by $100. Then they did regular visits for awhile and were emailing me my bills. Then I guess they decided to mail my bill instead of email for some reason, which got lost as my address changed a few times (the service was at my rental property whereas I moved to RI to be a travel nurse and my address changed a lot in the last 2 years), so I never got it. So they sent it to collections and killed my credit score!! They had my email address AND my phone number... why couldn't they have contacted me that way before going to collections?! Ridiculous. Also I guess that meant they stopped servicing my property and also never told me. DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM UNLESS YOU LIKE SHITTY CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

once again if i was able to give zero stars i would. my lemon tree started dropping it's leaves tand look pretty sick. i called arapahoe tree surgeons and i got an education on citrus trees. they never did a soil test. planted the lemon tree to close to the house. the window reflects light which isn't good for the tree. after 4yrs the lemon tree is a wash, it will be removed soon. on to the grapefruit tree. again no soil test done. the tree is also no we'll still it too will be chopped down. if your planning on planting citrus trees fo not ho through a landscaping business. they dont have a clue. have arapahoe tree surgeons or another company that is soley about trees and the health, knowing if the tree will survive in your soil and know exactly where that tree will thrive. thanks again for taking money for a shit job and loosing my trees. shame on you la cholla landscaping especially gabe's team. read more

Working with La Cholla Landscaping was a breeze from the start. I used their services for installing plants, drip irrigation, and laying gravel. They were super thorough, put the plants in, explained how and where they installed the drip lines. The gravel was raked with precision and care. More than that they cleaned up properly and even raked up the gravel in my front yard. I was informed through out the process with timely communication from Julie and Gabe. Great honest and reasonable. I recently had a water leak at my house which was annoying to find out my water bill was $250. I called to get an estimate with the guy came out on a Monday and then repaired my drip the next Monday with my schedule. I hired La Cholla Landscaping (LCL) to complete a front and back yard irrigation project. Prior to hiring LCL, I requested estimates from 2 other companies. LCL was the most responsive and was the only company that actually came out and measured my yard with a measuring wheel rather than "eyeballing" it. The final cost matched the estimate despite a minor hiccup with one of the valves which Gabriel fixed personally. The LCL workers were professional and the owner/supervisor Gabriel came by every day of the 3-day project to check on progress and update me personally. No absentee bosses here. My husband and I are very pleased and impressed with the care the workers took fixing the gravel after the irrigation was installed. read more

Hired La Cholla Landscaping to do some general yard maintenance, to include trimming three bushes, blowing out debris, and covering bare areas in the back over with existing rock. When I returned home from work the day they came, the only thing done was trimming the bushes. I called and complained and they said they would be out the next day. My kids' babysitter happened to be at our house that day and no one came by, although La Cholla disputes this. They report that they did come out and complete the work. The attached photos, I believe, prove otherwise. There is significant debris in both the front and back yards and the bare areas are still present. I went ahead and paid the $140 invoice for what turned out to be for the trimming of three bushes. I will be looking for another landscape maintenance company to complete the work La Cholla did not. We have a nicely landscaped yard that came with the house when we purchased it and we also made a few changes. We wanted La Cholla Landscaping to help us do typical maintenance such as trim bushes, remove deadwood and shoots off lower areas of Palo Verde, rake gravel, blow debris off courtyard and other areas, irrigation leaks, etc. Nothing weighty. But LCL just could not deliver the most typical things a landscaping company should do and know. In the beginning the scheduling (bi-monthly) was very cumbersome but that finally got worked out. The guys they sent to do the work (almost always different workers after requesting the same guys so they could know our yard and likes) were not educated in the least about landscaping. I would meet with the workers every time to tell them certain things like DON'T blow the DG off our pathway, RAKE the gravel, and make sure you PICK UP blown, collected debris, etc. We kept them for a while since people need to work and we wanted the help but it just became too much (and too expensive and time consuming trying to correct their mistakes.) Some of these guys don't even know how to use a leaf blower and would continually just do what they wanted even after going over this with each visit. Our DG pathway we put in has been ruined multiple times by La Cholla workers and the owner (Gabriel Lobato) would not correct or take responsibility. We corrected the problem ourselves the first two times and the third time we requested La Cholla had to purchase additional DG and spread it correctly and return the pathway to the original state. Gab would not do this even after his workers admitted to doing this incorrectly and Michael, his supervisor, visited our property and saw the mess. There were other issues but this was the last straw and the reason for our distasteful review of LCL. I would NOT recommend La Cholla Landscaping. read more

I saw La Cholla Landscaping in my neighborhood and decided to stop by and talk with their estimator. He talked me through my options and gave me a quote on the spot after seeing my property. I then called their office to schedule an appointment and was able to have them out in less than a week. Upon arrival they came to the door to introduce themselves before starting the work. They worked very hard and did an outstanding job. While I haven't had the best experiences with other places (no returned calls), La Cholla Landscaping was very responsive, efficient, professional, and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, they did the work we discussed. I hired La Cholla to clean up overgrown grassy weeds in our small backyard and put down barrier fabric to keep them coming up through our decorative rock. In the past, we have had guys come in and mow down the weeds and spray poison. It looks bad and the weeds just grow back in a couple months and when I met with the owner I told him that we wanted a better solution. The price quote we received was high, but it was supposed to include the barrier fabric installation. Not long after we got the quote, they decided they wouldn't do the barrier because "it doesn't work with those types of weeds" and at this point I should have just found someone else to do the work, but they said that they would hula hoe the weeds in our rocks and planters so that there wouldn't be a bunch of ugly stubble. Well, when they finally came to do the work, all they did was mow the weeds and dump a bunch of poison on them. I complained that none of the ugly weed stubble was removed and weeds were still sticking up all over on the edges and in the planters. They came back and removed a couple more weeds and ran a leaf blower (why?), but nothing was hula hoed and it still looks terrible. I'm not sure why there's such a discrepancy between the service we received and some other folks here. All I know is that we were overcharged for a very mediocre job and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I reviewed this company on their website but I guess they did not like my feedback since it doesn't appear there. Anyways, hired this company to trim my large mesquite tree back in mid July 2016. Quoted $400 and they did a good job of chopping off excess limbs and branches. However, less than 24 hours later, one of the main limbs fractured. Contacted the company same day and was told they would send somebody out Monday (it was Friday). After about a week or so, was quoted an additional $100 to remove the fractured limb and asked about leaving the limb as is (since it appears to help the tree balance). Was told they needed to consult their expert and after 24 hours told the fractured limb would die off over time if not removed and that it had rotted out. Feeling like I was being told bogus info to get more money for a job, I consulted friends at Lowe's and a local tree nursery. After showing them detailed photos, they told me that mesquite trees are hardy and that the limb would not cause any harm to the overall health of the tree but that if I cut it, it would be best to cut near the fracture to promote limb sprouts that would grow the tree upwards. Summary? Hiring La Cholla Landscaping is no better than hiring a skilled individual with a chainsaw. If you want true tree experts that understand how to promote better growth and maintenance of your foliage, consider hiring one of the many other services listed in a simple google search for your local area. read more

We recently worked with La Cholla Landscaping to replace our overgrown lawn with artificial turf and add a paved area for sitting next to the turf. Gabe met with us several times to brainstorm various designs for the turf and ensure that we matched the paver color and pattern to our patio. He was patient in answering our questions and following up with design adjustment that we made. The installation crew was excellent - they were polite, conversational, and were impeccable in cleaning up each day. Hired them to do something tree trimming which was fine though took a couple of trips as their power saw stopped working and they were under time pressure to get to another job. No big deal. I then hired La Cholla to plant 10 oleanders in an upper planter that was previously overlaid with river rock. They did this and connected to the drip system but unfortunately were again under pressure to get to another job and left the river rock which had been dug up mixed with dirt and mud. I communicated with Michelle at the office that I would pay the balance due when the river rock and planter surface were restored to the prior condition. I also suggested that there was no rush but that it was important that the guys have enough time to finish the job when they came back. Michelle emailed back that they would. When the guys came back they restored some of the planter but again said the boss was insisting they move along because they were "over budget" for the work. The job wasn't really to my satisfaction but I needed to move along too so I called Michelle and made payment plus gave some (polite) feedback on my concerns. She responded that the crew were already over their allotted time for the project and shouldn't be doing these "extras". Of course I voiced my opinion that doing a reasonably neat job was not a extra. I would not be inclined to use La Cholla again but if you do I suggest carefully negotiating the job details and then keep an eye on the work. Update: just realized that the crew also didn't rebury the poly irrigation tubing, plus a tube is leaking where they made a connection so I'm taking back another star. The job just doesn't look great. Can't recommend. read more

I called for a quote last week and then cancelled my request less than an hour later when I found someone to remove my cactus for free. So, 6 days later they not only come to my house but TAKE a cactus from my front yard. (The one I had wanted removed was long gone) I caught the whole episode on my Nest cam. I called the police to report the theft. LaCholla Landscaping sent me an estimate a few hours later and I recognized the phone number from the truck caught in my video. When I spoke to the owner of the company he said they should never have taken it . . ya think!!! They came and put it back after I called them on it but not the type of company I ever want to hire. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe this. I dropped the charges so they wouldn't be charged with criminal trespass cuz the whole incident was insane. read more

Called in to request a quote and was given an appointment within 2 days. All I was looking for was some rocks in the front replaced, some bushes removed, and a possible monthly maintenance contract. The guy arrived on time and listened to what I was looking for so I was excited to have found a company. About 6 hours later I received the estimate which at first glance looked great. Then I noticed the rocks were missing from the estimate. When I called back to inquire about this and have it added I was rudely spoken to and received quite an attitude. When I asked why she stated she's "sorry" I feel that way. She then told me that she said yesterday over the phone that I had to go to some rock store and pick it out. First, we didn't talk yesterday and second she never said such thing and got angry when I told her this. Anyway she ended up hanging up on me because I told her all I was trying to do was hire her company but I didn't appreciate be talked to so rudely. Michael came out to our home, I explained what we needed (he provided great feedback), Once I received the estimate, I made a couple changes and received a revised estimate. I also received a phone call from the owner confirming everything (GREAT move). We were having friends over on Friday and wanted our yard all fixed/cleaned up (many new plants, rock work and a good amount of clean up before Friday. Patrick and Thomas came out the day before showed up early and worked very hard and very efficiently. AMAZING is the only word I can use for Patrick and Thomas and what they created that morning. They were fast but not in a "rude rush" like so many companies today that just want to come in slam down the stuff and leave.
