I was there Sunday and they charged twice on my debit card. I will not be going back. They ripped me off. The food was not that great either

This is my favorite restaurant, by far. I grew up in marion, and would eat here a few times a month! Now I live about 45 minutes away in a town with multiple Mexican restaurant and they all pale in comparison. We gladly make the drive because of the food quality, the friendly staff, and the prices are definitely reasonable. Not to mention the recent remodel adds so much atmosphere. All of their decorations are hand made from Mexico, and help make La Cha's the best place to eat around! P. S. They serve beer but are adding a bar, hopefully fall 2014! read more

Disappointed at how this place has declined. Visited on Sunday before the church crowd yet it still took almost an hour and a half for a party of 5. Had to wait forever for refills, got crammed in a long booth that was split into tables on top of each other surrounded by screaming kids. Enchilada sauce was horrible, and the rice was very dry. Toilet would not flush and no soap. Will not go back here again.... read more

Very authentic Mexican food, best in Marion. All items were fresh and tasty. Not Tex-Mex (I.e. not drowned in cheese sauce). We enjoyed combo beef and chicken fajitas, gourmet burrito, tamales, and "Guadalajara" chicken enchiladas. One of our party wanted the fresh salmon. Waiter first checked kitchen and because "salmon was delivered day before", they would not serve. The sign of a well run business! The food was good. The waiter was nice but service was SOOOOO SLOW!!! Omg...we sat down at 7:36. I know because I texted my husband. We got our foot at 8:38. I really think dude forgot about us. He was bussing a table and then left the table half bussed. 10 minutes later we had food. Then he finished bussing the table. Once we got our food, it was wrong. Voted Grant County's Greatest: Mexican Restaurant by Chronicle-Tribune 5 years in a row!!! Love this place. The service staff is incredible, the food is delicious, and the prices are INSANELY reasonable. The servers are very friendly and we love giving them BIG TIPS because the food is so cheap! My husband and I will eat lunch there for $15 TOTAL! Easily the best chips and salsa in town (on par with Casa Brava which is their sister location in S. Marion). I love the super tasty authentic Mexican cuisine. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend. You simply MUST try it :) read more

In town for work from California. My favorite Mexican restaurant to visit. Would highly recommend for any tourist in town. The staff is extremely nice. The food is delicious. They are extremely generous with their drink refills. I would highly recommend their mixed fajitas order. It is a big portion and in addition to that they have the option to double it. I absolutely love this restaurant, I just moved to Marion not long ago and had to try here because Mexican food is my favorite. You get sat quickly, get drinks and chips/salsa quickly, food comes out quickly too yet still fresh and hot. Price isn't bad for the quantity you're getting. Lots of times these type restaurants are in re-purposed building and well decorated. This place was very nicely decorated. Very clean. Little rooms and sub rooms helped to keep the noise down. The food was excellent. The waitress was very nice and polite and our service was impeccable. read more

Ok. Let me start with I love Mexican food ! But it's sad for me to say I'm only giving one star. I went there with my fiancé yesterday. When we walked in the first thing we smelled was trash. Then we got our table. The waiter brought the chips and salsa. The salsa was very cold almost like ice. He ordered a water and I ordered a sprite. When we got them , instantly we noticed his glass was dirty as you can see in the pictures I posted. He didn't drink his water. After drinking some of my sprite I noticed my glass was VERY DIRTY too. I felt like throwing up. We both ordered the la charade or however you spell it lol. It was edible. But the rice was over cooked. And the retried beans was really sweet. And my fiancé loved tomatoes. I even gave him mine. He's Indian so everything he eats has tomatoes. He didn't even like them ! When the waiter came we told him about the glass cup how dirty. He took them back. After 10 minutes the lady who washes dishes which hardly new any English came with our cups. She wanted us to look at them to make sure they were ok. And my fiancé told her to make sure she cleans them better and she told him to shut up!!!! Oh I got so mad so I stop eating. We waited another 10 minutes for the waiter to give us our ticket we paid for it and left. Never will I ever go there again. read more

Liked the cozy layout of the restaurant. Didn't feel like everyone else could hear your conversation and vice versa. I order the "pick 3" dinner combo with two hard shell tacos, rice and beans. Very yummy! Preferred the ground beef to the shredded. My husband got the fajita quesadilla (it was big!) and really enjoyed it. Split a strawberry daiquiri that was tasty too! I love going to La Charreada. Chips and salsa brought out warm and are irresistible. Drink orders taken and you're not left parched! Now, we made the mistake of ordering a medium margarita--whoops! They should be called jumbo petite! Huge and and they mix 'em right! Anyway, be careful what you wish for! LOL. I ordered a chimichanga with ground beef and all the fixings. Generous and delish. My spouse ordered chimichanga a la carte with shredded beef. Very generous! He took the second one home for lunch the next day. They've remodeled since the last time we were there and it's beautiful. I can't comment much on anything besides the Arroz con pollo because that's all I get...it's so good! The chips and salsa are great too. It's comparable to Casa Brava, but I think it has a better setup because it is sectioned off and not one big room like Casa. read more

Wish I could say this is a great place, but...when the first opened it was great, they spent the money to remodel and what a mistake, they cut the quality of the food. We went back several times to make sure it was just not a oops moment but no it has really changed. This place is FAR from clean, bathrooms are not heated and this is Indiana so very cold in the winter. Food is tasteless boiled chicken with nothing but water in it does not give it flavor. As far as service, the worst ever, maybe one person in the building spoke a word of English, This makes it hard for them to get your order correct and this happens every time we are in there. One of the best Mexican restaurants in the grant county area. Their queso is fantastic to the point that you could order just a cup of it and a bag of chips and have a fulfilling meal! My personal favorites are the chicken nachos (shredded) and the pancho villa, which is a burrito smothered in their fantastic queso. I've visited 3 times and would now consider myself a regular. Chips are fresh and salsa is thick. Food seems a little more flavorful than the average Mexican restaurant. I've received good service on every visit. The restaurant is clean including the rest rooms. And one of the best things outside of the product is the floor plan of the dining area. Won't​ be going back. A group of four people arrived before us and they were seated promptly. However, after that group was seated, the hostess​ acknowledged a couple that entered the restaurant after us and completely ignored me and my wife. She talked to the couple as if they were friends and began searching for a table for them.
