Very cold service. Not even a hello, welcome, be with you in a minute. Dat down at a table and two walk outs were helped before he took my order. Ordered four different tacos (asada, Barbacoa, al pastor and asada con chorizo). Three tacos looks exactly the same, all four dry, and pastor didn't even come with pineapple as advertised on menu. Salsa does indeed come in bottles which is advantageous for pouring on tacos but disadvantage for chips....as you can't really dip the chip but able to put a limited amount. This was a super small place that Emily decided to take me because it is her favorite place in Marion. It did not disappoint. I was really hungry from a hard run earlier, and I definitely got my money's worth at El Taco Express! I ordered the chicken and bean burrito with Spanish rice, and it was all very tasty. One interesting thing about this restaurant is that they don't bring a bowl for your salsa. You actually squeeze the salsa from a bottle onto the chips. Very unique. They come with just the meat and a dressing. If you want anything other than that, you need to order it, especially cheese. All three were very good. The questions while doing this review were confusing because this is a small town joint with the best authentic food I've experienced yet in this town. If you want authentic flavor at local restaurant with very competitively priced meals, this is the best spot to go to. I would go every week if it was closer to me. They have the best tacos and burritos (so good I have yet to try anything else) and they have my personal favorite chips and salsas. I get green and red every time. Ah, authentic tacos. You order by the taco, which lets you mix and match whatever sounds good to you in the moment. Can't decide between chicken and beef? No problem! The tacos are served on corn tortillas and topped with cilantro and onion. Nice and simple. The guacamole order is a nice size for the price. It is very creamy, not too spicy. The chips are really fresh and not too salty. They have 3 different salads you can try too. I called in a takeout order and it was ready really quickly. When I went to pick up my order, I noticed there was some seating available. Even for a very very cold night, the place was about half full. Incredible Mexican food. They use a lot of cilantro (which I love), but be sure to ask for them to leave it off if you're not a fan. I love the taste and texture of their chips, and both of the types of salsa are delicious. For my gluten-free meal, I order chicken tacos with a corn shell. This is very authentic food and atmosphere and would recommend it for anyone looking for an authentic Mexican food experience. Would recommend pollo tacos or asada tacos and horchata for a drink. The tacos here are fantastic! They're street taco style, with several authentic Mexican versions. Tacos are roughly $1.50-$2.00 a piece, plus complimentary chips and salsa, so you can be full for a very affordable price. The best restaurant in Marion if you have any sort of taste at all. If you are looking for something you cant get in just any location come here. the food is fresh, its delicious, and its about as authentic as it gets. The chorizo, asada, and carnitas, are amazing. The lengua has a little bit less of that beefy flavor most langua has but it is still my favorite thing there. The only thing that's lacking is the El Pastor lacks the desired sweetness. If you're in Marion, and you're looking for real mexican food, this is the place to go. The other restaurants are just the typical tex-mex garbage. The Horchata is notable as well, kinda sweet. What a surprise! This little strip mall dive has fantastic street style tacos. Choose from several kinds and make your own combination! They have some that are a little to authentic for my taste (beef tongue and tripe) but they had plenty of other options. I enjoyed steak tacos with plenty of cilantro and also a chicken fajita taco.
