Super yummy birria tacos. Crisp, tasty, great dipping consommé. Plus, friendly and helpful folks doing the cooking and serving. Highly recommend!

On my journey to find the best taco truck in New Mexico and as of 9/23/21 this is the best! I have tried this place twice and both times, the quality of the food was clear. Here is my favorite dishes, al pastor and asada tacos, and the barbacoa tortas. I have tried all the meats and they're all amazing, so juicy and flavorful. The best are al pastor, asada and barbacoa for sure(I might just not be a birria person). I will try the different kind of dishes next time but I bet they will also be amazing. Do not cal yourself a taco lover if you do not come here ASAP!!

Part of me doesn't want to write this review in fear of the amount of patrons they'll receive, but they deserve this review! We tried a new taco truck tonight located over on Juan Tabo, just north of Lomas, in the Salmon's parking lot. We've passed them a few times, but finally decided to give them a try. Total experience? Probably 4.5 stars and well worth the future recommendations I'll be giving my friends to come here. We tried the Catrina Box, a Carne Asada Mula, the Quesabirria tacos with 16oz consommé, and Al Pastor tacos. The Catrina box is well worth the $22 and completely shareable amongst 2-3 peeps. My favorite meat was the Carne Asada because it's incredibly flavorful and not dried out. Unfortunately, the Al Pastor was my least favorite as it was dried out. The flavor was there, but wasn't as great as the Birria and the Carne Asada. All dishes came with a side of onions, red salsa, and green salsa. The salsas are ON POINT! They give just enough bite to let you know the heat is there, but the flavor packs a fantastic punch to the palette! The consommé was a wonderful savory mix with plenty of Birria thrown in. My only complaint there is there was a bit too much oil resting on top, but that's easily pour-off-able. The flavor beats its local competitors--not kidding. It's well rounded with salt and seasonings so you don't just feel like you're consuming meat broth. Give this place a try if you're hunting for the perfect Quesabirria, you won't be disappointed!

A mix of tacos: asada, barbacoa, pastor and I'm not sure but everything was

A friend brought me a "sampling" plate of 5 tacos - he had told me what a great place La Catrina was. DELICIOUS! I'm not sure exactly which taco was which except the pastor with a surprisingly sweet and spicy flavor.

    Tacos!

Update: we are still coming here and the food is still amazing! The owner is friendly and welcoming too!

Simply the best food truck tacos in all of Albuquerque. Try and find a better spot, you won't. Cleanliness is top notch and obviously the food is delicious. Quality meats and no skimping on ingredients. Try it

Amazing! We lucked out finding this gem! We attempted stopping at chipotle, but thankfully the line was way too long and La Catrina was right across the street! WAY BETTER than Chipotle would have ever been!! We ordered the Catrina Box special and it was more than plenty for two. Fast, delicious and satisfying! Highly recommend grabbing a bite if you have the chance!

These were the featured specials. Prices are reasonable and credit cards are accepted.

Yum!! This food is truly delicious. Everything I ordered was wonderful, but the star of the show was the Al pastor. It is the best Al pastor I have ever had. It was tender, succulent, and seasoned to perfection. We also really enjoyed the carne asada as well. I highly recommend this food truck.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican tacos this is the place! About a week ago I had some family come over for dinner, and since this food truck is located literally down the street from my house I decided to give them a call. The staff was so friendly and helpful, they suggested a "box of tacos special" witch was the perfect amount of food. They were the best tacos I've ever tried, at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Yes, I get the hype, and in my opinion, totally worth it!…read more I came here on a Sunday night and they were very busy. The place is huge so they have plenty of tables available. I stood on line to order for maybe 10 minutes or so. I had the Carne Adovada Burrito, one soft Beef Taco, and rice and beans. Everything was excellent and tasted delicious. The price was very reasonable. I wish we had a restaurant like this on Long Island.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

I had the house special chili ribs and the ribs aren't flavorful. There is no distinctive taste to these ribs but chilied. But since the chili is tasteless themselves, it doesn't contribute to the overall flavor of the ribs anyway. 2/5 Stuff sopadillas with beef is very large and filling. For the lunch menu, the price is rather affordable for how much food I ordered. The tastes? I can't tell because it is comparable to any other restaurants. Nothing really stands out to me. 4/5 The regular sopadilla with honey as a side dish is amazing and you can't really go wrong with sopadilla and honey 5/5. Chips and salsa is continuously refilled as requested. Overall service is average, with water refill being done per request, not automatically. I personally would take tourists here to experience the cute vibe of New Mexico that this restaurant gives: a cute brunch with the ladies, a nice hang out and gathering with friends.
